Le Bouchon - Chicago
Best French onion soup ever
As a fan for around 20 years, it's still our "go to" for traditional French Bistro fare. The staff and service are always at the highest level.
it was fairly loud and the service could have been better.
Nice classic French food. Service was quite rude and not very attentive. Had to flag server to get menus, to order, to order drinks etc despite there being two waiters on three tables.
I always have a good meal
Love it ..................................................................Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Great food, great service!
Always a wonderful experience. Friendly and attentive service. Wonderful atmosphere. Year after year, Le Bouchon continues to be my favorite restaurant in Chicago! Heather, Josh and Liz are always welcoming and hospitable. Five stars doesn’t do justice this institution.
Bring back the profiteroles!!
The food here is amazing. The table next to us was a party of 14. So it was loud which is so not French. But it would not keep me from returning. The only high priced items were the wines. I think they were overpriced. The food portions were enough to have some “take home” . Very enjoyable dinner.
The trout in puff pastry was rather tasty, but our other dishes (the roasted chicken, salad lyonnaise, and salt cod beignets) were simply fair, and not what I would expect for the price. Our waitress was very brusque, perhaps even a bit snippy, and rushed us along. We were seated in the corner next to where they stack plates and silver, and so had the sound of metal clacking in our ears the entire time. I was looking forward to bringing my boyfriend here, but found the experience very disappointing and do not plan on returning.
Delicious food and great experience! At the end we felt pushed out for next seating but we were there over 90 min so that is understandable. Tables are a bit tight for comfortable circulation.
Food was outstanding and the service was equal! Will be going back again and again. Couldn’t recommend enough.
The food is ALWAYS delicious, great selection of wine by the glass & bottle. Warm cheery atmosphere & the waitstaff is friendly as well as helpful w/ recommendations. My favorite French restaurant in Chicago & NYC, you can always count on a wonderful dining experience at Le Bouchon.
Really a great place. I’m definitely adding this to my list of go-to bistros on the north side
Celebrate a birthday
Very cramped and squeezed into a corner. Servers bumping into us. Fish special was not well prepared and couldn’t be eaten by wife
The food is very french as advertised and excellent. Servicce was great and everything was perfect. Glad they have valet parking.
Celebrated my husband’s birthday with the best French food in Chicago
Great food. Fun atmosphere. Great service.
Great food, wine, and service. I have been there multiple times now and absolutely love it.
The food was outstanding. Had the trout dish wrapped with spinach and romesco in puff pastry, my girlfriend had the lobster tartine, shared an apple tart for dessert. It was all wonderful food and I'd recommend it to anyone.
It was freezing in the restaurant. Tables too close together.
Food was good called ahead they said there was valet service not true
Everything about my experience dining here was great, service, location and the FOOD! The food is the best bistro food I’ve ever eaten. It’s really outstanding. Don’t leave without having creme brûlée, it’s the best!!!
Food was excellent!! Service too! Where else can you order a true cassoulet!! mmmmmmmmm good!
Awesome place, good food and service, classic
Amazing food, good wine selections
This food was INCREDIBLE! My husband and I try to go to a new restaurant and rarely repeat places just because we don’t go out that much and there are so many places to go. This is the 2nd time we’ve been here. When we leave, we think about the next time we can go. Highly recommend!
Such a cute french restaurant with a ton of amazing food options.
My favorite restaurant
Excellent food but we love that place and atmosphere. Great staff & great clientele. When we visit Chicago, Le Bouchon is must stop for us. They don’t get tourists very often, but put in-town friends introduced us to this wonderful French bistro about 15 years ago. Most people are from the surrounding neighborhood.
Loved the French onion soup - the server always had a smile on her face. Lovely lunch.
Exceptional service, beautiful wine list, so cozy on a winter night. Be sure to get the onion soup.
I thought the food was excellent, best French onion soup I've ever had. The entrees were also very good. The service was great, but a few times we were waiting around for a waiter. It was super busy. The place is very small and noisy, so keep that in mind. My chair kept getting bumped by waiters which was pretty annoying, but overall it was a great meal and I would definitely be back.
Always a reliable restaurant. Only knock this time was rabbit en croute dish. Almost no rabbit present.
Perfectly correct French bistro. Trout encroute was slightly under cooked. Wine selection a bit overpriced and limited. . 50.00 corkage is not reasonable.
One of our favorite go to’s for great food! We always celebrate birthdays here and absolutely love the Cassoulet. Service always great too with the same people!! Must for any occasion.
Great food! My teenager twins favorite restaurant.
Another great dinner and fun evening at Le Bouchon. Especially good was the Sunchoke Soup - can't even describe the wonderful tastes in it! We sat at the 'table for two' by the door & felt like we were at a party -and indeed we were. We love coming here!
