When Hurricane Katrina closed the doors of Gabrielle Restaurant for over a decade, the city lost a mecca of Cajun cuisine. Anyone who walks past the deep blue and yellow building now, though, immediately recognizes they’re back in business. Although they don’t have the typical selection of best wings in New Orleans, the wings on their slow-roasted duck will give any eatery a run for its money. The high-end art, linen tablecloths and luxury lighting all point towards a fine dining experience, and additional menu options like paneed rabbit, veal chops and Crème Brûlée live up to this atmosphere.

Located in a historic building and modeled after the famous red-light district bordellos of old, Saints and Sinners provides patrons with an experience of a time long ago. Extravagant lighting, risqué keyhole art, a view of Bourbon Street from the balcony and a constant party vibe help the eatery live up to its slogan – ‘Fun… Not Fine… Dining.’ The Hot Head Wings come in four different flavors – including Thai Chili – and are arguably the best wings in New Orleans. Popular NOLA offerings such as crawfish, oysters, jambalaya and alligator tail are also available.

A combination of Southeast Asia and Southeast Louisiana create the delicious offerings at MoPho. They offer some of the best wings in New Orleans - flavored with lemongrass, Thai chili and ginger - and offer numerous pho bowls along with blackeyed pea curry, NOLA hot sausage sandwiches and glazed pork shoulder. Visible overhead ducts, incandescent lighting and vintage light covers create an industrial atmosphere that contrasts perfectly with the upscale cuisine offerings. Show up during Happy Hour for half-priced wings!

Large murals of land and marine life, Avant Garde chandeliers, distressed brick and unique square overhead lighting fixtures combine to give Meril a unique ambiance. The fourth restaurant opened in NOLA by famous chef Emeril Lagasse, this eatery offers contemporary American cuisine such as lobster cannelloni, Wagyu Coulotte steak, house-made meatballs and the popular Meril Burger. Their offering of the best wings in New Orleans is a Korean flavor complete with gochujang sauce. Although these typically result in a full belly, patrons would do themselves a disservice by not trying the blueberry cheesecake or banana pudding ice cream cake.

Serving both country Italian and French cuisine with a unique New Orleans twist, Irene's Restaurant offers some of the tastiest culinary options in the city. These include crabmeat gratin, San Francisco style Cioppino, lasagna Bolognese and meatballs marinara. The Duck St. Philip is as close as a patron will come to the best wings in New Orleans here, and while guests get more than just wings, every bite is delicious thanks to the pecan, raspberry pancetta demi glaze. The exterior striped awnings make the building easy to identify, but it’s the romantic lighting, droves of wine bottles lining the walls and beautiful vintage art inside that most people remember.

Passersby may only notice the huge hotel sign out front, but once they’re inside Josephine Estelle, they’ll wonder how they ever missed it. Italian columns and wall art match perfectly with the menu, and this combines with unique lighting and plenty of natural light to make a relaxing ambiance. The rooftop area has a pool and a bar, but it’s typically the pork tenderloin, kabocha squash, meatball antipasti and chestnut tagliatelle that guests are excited about. This is another eatery with a nontraditional take on the best wings in New Orleans, but their duck with fennel and autumn greens cannot be missed.

One wouldn't expect to see athletic wear, cut off shorts or t-shirts in one of the premier fine dining establishments in New Orleans, and the GW Fins dress policy makes sure patrons get what they expect. The dining room maintains a classy vibe with impressive sculptures, gorgeous paintings throughout, vintage décor and beautiful flora. Their attempt at the best wings in New Orleans is the Tempura Fin Wings, and they honestly might have accomplished the goal. Other offerings include American red snapper, New Bedford sea scallops, Gulf Yellowedge grouper and #1 Louisiana yellowfin tuna.

Tequila & Taco Tuesday, Barpreneur Power Lunches and Burlesque Brunches on the weekends certainly make SoBou stand out among its contemporaries. Their cocktail list is also one of the best in the city, and although this Creole saloon focuses heavily on beverages, they also offer delicious street foods. These include shrimp & Tasso corndogs, rustic Cajun gumbo and chargrilled Berkshire porkchops. Their crawfish boil fried chicken sticks are a strange but welcome addition to the best wings in New Orleans. The hundreds of back-lit bottles, funnel ceiling fixtures, colorful globe lighting and elegant entryway create a truly unique and chic ambiance.

Serving as the French Quarter's only microbrewery, Crescent City Brewhouse combines modern technology with Old World values – espoused by the Bavarian Purity Law of 1516 – in creating its beer. Its brews aren’t the only appeal, though, since the menu features fried alligator, roast pork po' boys, crawfish etouffee and cane glazed ribs. The Brewhouse hot wings also serve as an excellent candidate for the best wings in New Orleans. The eatery is inside a historic home and maintains an old-school vibe – thanks to distressed brick and industrial ducts – but cute neon jellyfish and other vibrant décor also add a modern appeal.
