Bonterra is one of our go-to restaurants, the food is always amazing and the ambience is excellent! I usually go during warmer weather to sit on the best patio in Calgary, but new years day in Calgary is not conducive to dining al fresco :-) so this was my first time dining inside - not as lovely as the patio of course but it was still very nice. The food was so good - there was 6 of us for a birthday dinner and so we were able to try a good variety of items on the menu, everything was well prepared and delicious, and the Bartender's Baby cocktail special was a big hit. Best of all was our server, she was an absolute delight and very attentive and friendly (without overdoing it).

We had not been here for years… that was dumb! We had a wonderful dinner. Campari and soda, then a reasonably-priced and delicious pitcher of Bordeaux, just enough for 3 glasses… the restaurant brings bread (the best we had in the city!) and butter and rillettes (also the best we have had). I had the special, Camembert roti over thinly -sliced endive with a mustard-seed vinaigrette… inventive and delicious. My husband had the lamb shank which was beautiful and really good, and I had quenelles, which I rarely see on menus and these were amazing. We were seated at the window. My only complaint is that there was very little room between the tables for two at the window… I would take out the one nearest the door! The servers were very sweet and efficient and we had a wonderful time.

It was my moms 50th birthday and wanted the evening to be special. When we got there our seat wasn’t ideal.. so I had asked the hostess if it was possible to have a table with a view seeing as it was my mom’s special day! After two attempts she got us an amazing table with the view of the CN Tower. Couldn’t have been any happier with her willingness to help. The waitress we had was equally amazing; friendly, informative and even gave my mom a birthday dessert! The price was pretty decent considering we dined with 4 people and spent close to $300 including tip. Honestly thought I’d be spending more. Overall, I’ll be back :)

Even though Locale Aurora isn't in the city, I'm so happy to find a fancy brunch spot close to home. The decor and ambience made me feel like I was downtown. The selection looked amazing and you can tell everything is fresh. Our server was super attentive and made great recommendations. He went above and beyond to get us extra plates and new forks even though we didn't request it so we could enjoy both sweet and savory dishes. I love brunch at Pier 7 - just hard to choose between the Avocado Bennie, the Smoked Salmon Bennie and the decadent chick and waffles or pancakes. This time we had a group of 9 and the staff made a great table for us on the outdoor, very much heated, patio. Our server was friendly, efficient, and regular showed up to refresh our coffee or get us more drinks. And of course, the view of the harbour is fantastic.

This has been & is one of my favourite restaurants for the past 15 yrs. I went with my family on New Year’s after almost a year later…blame it on the pandemic😊We ordered the house specials…scallops, pate & the soup, as share plates between three of us. The first two were disappointing but the soup was pretty good. We ordered three main courses…my daughter & I shared two of the main courses, which were, lentil based lingcod & crab/lobster bamboo rice dishes. They were ok & felt, it was not to the high standard of this establishment. However, the third main, beef tenderloin was v good. All said & done, this restaurant will remain as one of our favourites & we live in the area.

We had a lovely experience on New Year's Day at Victor. Only a few issues where our water glasses weren't topped up on the regular and I had a small filet mignon that was completely burnt on top and bottom which was disappointing for the value of it. The brussel sprouts were a bit spicier than we bargained for, but all in all an excellent experience and excellent service! Thank you.

My husband and I enjoyed the chefs tasting menu and could not say one negative thing about our dinner, it was delicious! The service was good, never had a dirty plate on our table, water was always full, but there were some long gaps between plates. The restaurant was about half full so we were sure what the delay was. Overall we highly recommend you splurge on the chefs tasting menu.

My wife and I come from one of the culinary capitals of the country - Chatleston, SC - so our standards are pretty high. Well Treadwell did not disappoint! From the moment we checked in the hostess took us both inside and outside so we could decide the atmosphere we liked best. Once we chose outdoors on the covered patio we were promptly met by a fantastic, fun, knowledgeable and attentive server. All four courses were amazing but there were two standouts. The heirloom tomatoes with basil gelato was a masterpiece neither me nor my wife had ever experienced before. And the chocolate tart covered with peanut butter ice cream and paired with a delicious cup of coffee sealed the deal! Everything was done impeccably. When we come back to NOTL this will be on our MUST DO list.
