We had ordered food from North Italia couple of times before. It was really good. So we decided to dine in.
Ambiance was nice, service was outstanding.
Service and ambiance is important but the basic thing we need at a restaurant is food. And if the food is not good then the whole experience is a waste.
Unfortunately the food wasn't great. We were party of 3. All of us ordered different entries for ourselves.
All the entries were pasta dishes.
1. Pasta itself wasn't cooked well. It was still stiff to chew in all 3 dishes.
2. The Chicken Pesto Pasta was super overwhelmingly strong. I couldn't finish it. It felt like I'm just eating Pesto.
3. I'm not sure but it actually felt like the food was made preemptively earlier in the day since it was a Saturday night, and before service it was heated in a microwave.
4. If you are paying approximately $25 for a dish in a restaurant like this then we expect a good portion. Out of 3 dishes, portions for 2 dishes were pretty small.
Overall the experience was fair enough.
Since I've had good food from this restaurant before and it might have been a 1 time mistake, I find it difficult in my heart to give a critical review. But it will be dishonest of me if I say I had a good time.
I hope I get to see improvement next time I visit.
