There’s an exciting vinous surprise coming to Hampstead this October, and this one is set to be a corker! The legendary Cork & Bottle wine bar, situated in the heart of London’s Leicester Square was founded by the equally legendary Don Hewitson back in 1971, and remains an iconic venue for wine lovers around the world. Don’s reputation allowed some of the best growers to invite him in and give him access to some of the world’s most treasured wines – the type of wines that usually only find their way to a few lucky locals. Cork & Bottle is now run by Will Clayton with just the same philosophies, all under Don’s auspicious eye. The team recently opened a more modern spin-off of the Leicester Sq institution, situated in the heart of Paddington, and is now set to open a third site in London’s leafy Hampstead this October. An ideal spot for both lunch and dinner, or for casual drinks with seats set to surround the long bar, or even out in the charming and undeniably cosy wine garden. More

If dining in the U.K. still evokes lackluster fish and chips or sorry boiled vegetables, it’s time for a trip. Call it the renaissance of British cuisine—from revived and updated bangers and mash to regional authentic Chinese, London has rewritten its own culinary story and now proudly bears the qualities of a veritable food destination. With a population of nearly 8.8 million people and one of the most popular airports in the world, the city is a bastion of cultural and culinary diversity, from an old world Parsi café and forage-forward tasting menus, to rethought English breakfasts and markets of all types. We’ll cheers to that.
