We ordered Halibut for lunch and left the restaurant hungry. Fish portion was 4 inches long, 2 inches wide. Tasted great though.
Loulay is always perfect. The ambiance is lovely, the food exquisite and on this particular occasion we had dessert and all three that we tried were ridiculously good. It is one of my favorite spots in the city and I love bringing friends from out of town. I feel like it perfectly represents the cuisine of the city.
I love Loulay, go there a couple times a month when going to either 5th Avenue or The Paramount! Food is always delicious and the staff is the best...
The food is always great and the menu is updated regularly.
Wonderful brunch prior to downtown event. Had a great server, personable and efficient. Food was perfect and nice varied menu-something for all.
Once again, service strikes the right balance between efficient and friendly, and the server immediately picks up on the fact that not all guests like to be fussed over. Scrambled eggs with oyster mushrooms are very well prepared and the side salad is good and fresh, although there's way too much of it. Eggs Benedict are also excellent. The food smells in the place are just right, not cloying, and the senior-citizen big band standards are pleasantly subdued, not obnoxious. $6 for a double espresso is silly, but at least it's good. Be sure to read the comments in the little notebook you get with your bill. In ours, somebody had noted that the portion sizes should be increased and someone else had commented that Cheesecake Factory is just up the street. Made us and the server laugh.
Excellent service and food. Very enjoyable dining experience.
Every bite fantastic! We opted to share several small & medium plates before our main course & were not disappointed. Great wine list.
Such accommodating service...as our group grew from 2 to 3 to 5 in the hours before our reservation.
Great food. Great table service. Higher recommend to friends...
Sister reunion! Best time together, hands down. Celebration and much love all around the table.
The meal was art. Our server so kind. Some of my best experiences have been over a meal at Loulay.
Last summer our 30th anniversary. This spring sister time. What’s next?
Great food. Nice restaurant. Service was ok too. I wouldn’t say anything other than the food was outstanding or excellent. Server was kinda condescending and not as friendly considering the $$$ we spent on dinner. I’d maybe go back for a drink at the bar, not sure I’d do dinner again.
I purposely made reservations so we would be seated in the booths against the back wall. I have been in most of the possibilities in Loulay. First by the window at a table = OK. Then at one of the rounded booths = much better. Then at a booth against the wall = best. I can't imagine sitting at one of the tables in the row down the middle. Assume these are for walks-ins. There, you have it!
Very nice service and quality food!
Our party arrived 15 minutes early and they were able to seat us right away. Parking was convenient. The food and service was great! We had the brunch and all enjoyed their orders. We will not hesitate to come back.
Potential unrealized with an uneven experience.
First, the food was amazing - maybe Seattle's best. But nearly everything else wasn't . Yet, we are optimistic it was a one-off experience and see the potential of this new Seattle gem.
We had to see through the fact our meals were cold by the time we got them; left too long in the kitchen before serving.
Service was sloppy, fumbled silverware, poorly timed delivery (served drinks after 30 minutes, and then while ordering), and our waiter made several mistakes on the order. I'm sure ownership would be disappointed that our service experience did not match the beauty and grace in the food.
Ambiance initially was stunning, but we were led to the loft and missed out on the best surroundings. Avoid that - a very different dining experience away from the seductive decor for most of the restaurant. Again, potential unrealized. I hope they can improve that area somehow.
Despite the food being served cold, poor service, and regretful ambiance, the meal was spectacular. Our party was able to overlook the cold food and was rewarded with delicious, unique tastes that satisfied our hunger for world-class French. We agreed that served warm, the food would be amongst the very best in Seattle in any category - rivaling establishments in San Francisco and New York. Thank you Loulay! Thank you!
We were so taken with the food, even cold, that we will certainly return and are confident our dining experience will be a better one. At least we hope.
Loulay is one of the best restaurants in the city. Outstanding cuisine, reasonable prices , excellent service and an atmosphere that supports conversation.
Great food and great service - this restaurant is becoming my go to for business meals.
A very happy happy hour! Lovely shared appies. Many thanks to Loulay.
The service was impeccable from the bartender to all the wait staff. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The coffee was good and hot even for decaf.
I could not have been more pleased.
It was not very busy Sunday evening early so the noise level was wonderful.
food was excellent. Price was a bit higher then I would usually do but flavors and presentation of the food was well worth it. Will definitely come back here for a special occasion.
Absolutely phenomenal brunch. Best quiche over ever had!!!
Food was OK but not outstanding for $$$ category, prices are too high for the quality of the food. Wine list also not that great. Missing out a lot of great French wines (and is mostly geared towards more expensive options with no good reason)
Very nice ambiance, terrific service. Crab “beignets” actually a fritter. Stop trying to call everything a “beignet” they are both great in and of themselves just call it what it is! Haha! French onion soup was perfect . Salad divine. Charge for bread and butter? Seemed over the top to do that. And peanut butter s’more dessert was awesome. Just enough...the risotto with beets was a little confused . Lost in translation. But overall good meal great night
Excellent experience. Food was beautifully prepared and delicious. Solid service. Only downside was being seated next to the service station. Odd since a reservation was made and restaurant was not full. Otherwise lovely evening.
I dined solo. They have a wonderful seat with a view of the chefs feom the 2nd floor. Attentive staff. Awesome food.
Amazing lunch. Great for a quite meal. Best chicken in Seattle
We chose the two course lunch option, which is a great value. Although it took a long time for our main course (crab and beet risotto) to arrive, it was worth the wait — delicious!
The food and service were amazing! We shared the crab binets and then I had the muscles. They were the best I have ever had! My husband had the chicken and it melted it your mouth! I don’t even like chicken and it was awesome!
We went to Loulay for brunch before a matinee at ACT Theatre. We have been there for brunch a number of times and always enjoy it. Our server, Marilia, was particularly wonderful. I had the cured salmon crepes, which come with a poached hen egg. Marilia checked in on us and watched as I cut into the egg. When she could see that it did not run she insisted on getting me one that would. A short time later someone brought a bowl with two poached eggs cooked perfectly. She checked back and beamed when she saw me enjoying them. Also, when I told Marilia that I wanted to order beignets to go for friends to enjoy that evening, she went to ask the pastry chef for reheating directions. Her wonderful service greatly enhanced the delicious food.
Attentive service, delicious food, comfortable booths. Can be fancy or casual depending on the occasion.
My friend and I had dinner before a Seattle Symphony concert. Had never visited Loulay before. The atmosphere was just right: a little lively but never loud. We could carry on a conversation without any trouble. The wait staff was very attentive, brought us a very nice “amuse bouche.” Friend’s French onion soup was incredible. Baguette was perfectly chewy and delicious with the salted butter. I had the hanger steak special with asparagus and morels. So delicious! A very nice glass of wine recommended by the waitress. Friend’s beef bourguignon was melt-in-your mouth amazing. Rice pudding for dessert was excellent. Friend had a lovely cassis cocktail too. The bill was over $200 including tip, more than I would normally spend on dinner, but I felt that the experience and food was well worth the splurge. Would visit again for a special night out.
Although my Porkchop was essentially perfect, my wife's halibut was too dry. We come either here or o Luc at least once per month so tonight's meal was rather disappointing.
Table 60 rocks! Great to see everyone’s comments on the guest book. Only available at Table 60.
As always, Loulay proves out to be one of Seattle’s best, certainly the best in the downtown core, in the same league as Carmine’s in Pioneer Square and Tilth in Wallingford. The salads were super fresh, the halibut was perfect, my partner swore that she could have had another French Onion soup because it was so good and not as salty as so many served out there. Our waiter was kind and happy. What a difference that makes. And, might partner and I could hear each other in conversation which is always important to me. This is where I go when I need the meal to be very special, period.
Juliet was so sweet and our server Yassine was awesome. The food was delicious! Would recommend this restaurant to everyone!
My food was cold. Not good for eggs benedict which has to be at least warm.
Went for Easter Brunch. The best meal I have had dining out in Seattle in quite some time ❤️
Birthday and Easter celebration with out of town family. We had 3 generations at the table and the waiter was excellent with everyone. The food was excellent and the vote was unanimous, everyone would return to Loulays when in Seattle.
I had a wonderful birthday dinner!
At least our tenth time here, and the meal and service were flawless. The short rib alone is worth the visit (I really need to try a different entree sometime), and my wife's halibut was excellent.
Loulay also continues to offer original and delicious cocktails. The bill ads up, but it is 100% work the cost
