Food is an essential part of all family and social interactions in the Middle East where people grow up with intense flavors, colorful, vibrant foods fresh from the marketplace, prepared simply and with a lot of passion. Aromatic herbs fill the streets and a spirit of warmth and generosity exudes welcome at any table.
Here at Mamnoon, we share these strengths brought with us from Lebanon and Syria to the new world of Seattle – where modern curiosity, compassion, progressive values and tolerance are paving the way for harmonious integration and celebration of cultures and flavors.
What Insiders Are Saying
Mamnoon in Capitol Hill makes the best Mediterranean food in Seattle, and also works for just about any dining situation.
Wonderful options for all diners. We shared a larger platter of food and it was delicious. The drinks are also very tasty. I highly recommend.
My family is Lebanese so I seek out Middle Eastern food as often as possible. Everything was fresh and delicious. The Fattoush Salad was our favorite. The flavors were bright, tart and full of fresh herbs. We had the mezze sampler and the Kafte as well. All super good. For dessert, I had the cheese rolls with the rose blossoms and orange flower syrup and let me tell you, it was delicious. The service was prompt and attentive and the place was slamming busy.
The decor inside was lovely and the vibe was unique and interesting. I wouldn't recommend this place to a friend because the waiter sold us on a pretty pricey special that turned out to be not good at all. He said it was a prime rib that was big enough for 2 people which sounded great. It was $60. When we got it, it turned out to be maybe 6 slices of what looked like the steak that goes on top of a salad. It was tough to chew and also flavorless. I think that maybe if we had gotten something else it would have been a better experience. I'm still kind of shocked that they charged us $60 for 6 pieces of overcooked steak. Overall, not a good experience. If you go, maybe don't get the special.
We did get pita bread and a dip that was unique and delicous.
Had a great time here. The food and ambience are absolutely amazing. The service also reminds you of the traditional hospitality of the Middle East, would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Seattle.
Great place, awesome food and good location. I had heard a lot about this place and finally decided to make a visit. Good number of vegetarian options(me and my wife are vegetarian). All the things we ordered were great. Specially the dolmeh. I would suggest more service staff for a faster service on weekend nights. Would definitely like to go again.
The food was very delicious and the cocktails were outstanding but we were seated at a very awkward table/corner where maybe we were out of site out of mind? Because the service was very lacking, I think we were sitting 20 minutes or so before someone even said hello and brought water and it continued like that, way too long without the server checking in, bringing drinks and flatbread etc. next time I’ll peobably opt for their window service.
Food was really delicious but service was extremely terrible. We only ordered three dishes and were there for 90 minutes. The place was extremely busy and the service but a huge damper on the ambiance, which was lacking to begin with. Not sure if we’ll return.
It was an off night entrees were cold and service was below par.
We had the sample appetizer plate with assorted spreads, the special steak dish for the evening, and the yogurt-marinated chicken with mushrooms. Everything was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The steak was marinated in garlic & balsamic and was tender- each bite full of flavor. The potatoes served with the chicken were crisp on the outside and delicate inside- perfect. The service is well-paced for enjoying a leisurely evening out- not slow, but they are also not rushing you through your meal.
We had an early reservation and when we were seated the host paused at one two-top, passed another, and proceeded to seat us at literally the worst table in the restaurant. The noise from the kitchen and the service area was formidable, but we read lips well, and when that failed we could text. Did we complain? No. Why? Two reasons: A) someone had to sit there and B) first world problems. Then why mention it? I’ll get to it. Service was prompt and professional, and the food truly outstanding. The fish stew was excellent, infused with surprising and satisfying flavors. We commented on how fortunate we felt to have restaurants this good in our city. Bottom line is that even the worst table at Mamnoon gets you great food. Highly recommended, no matter where you’re sitting.
The portions are very small and super expensive!
Loved the vegetarian food
I hadn't been back to Mamnoon for some time and had high hopes for an enjoyable meal with my oldest. However, despite being told that we needed to finish up within an hour (which was fine as we were running late), we didn't finish until 90 minutes later. This was not due to lingering over appetizers and dessert. As far as I could tell, they forgot to put in our order or the order was misplaced. The end result was the same, it took about 45 min for our food to arrive. I would say that no harm was done as I got to spend more time catching up with my daughter, but we were both hungry and I had a ticket waiting for me on my car because my parking had expired.
Was really excited based on the reviews and articles but the food was mediocre. Nothing better than my local hole in the wall. Some of the chicken was under cooked and my sausage was a little dry. The concept is great but each ingredient seemed to be kinda of independent and not really working and blending together. I was really surprised. left feeling like it was a real waste of money. I was I could say otherwise...
We were disappointed that we didn't get seated until 20 minutes after our reservation time (we arrived right on time). The hostess was short with us, not at all polite. She let us know they were 15 minutes behind, but we didn't get seated until 20 minutes later. What was bothersome is that 2 couples who came in after us got seated before us. We made the reservation weeks in advance, and from the looks of the layout, our table was certainly not one of the best options.. it was quite cramped, and not all tables were like that. Our server was great and the food was excellent. Overall we were bummed with the first impression, but happy in the end)
Took my vegan fiancee here for Valentine's Day. We both had excellent meals. The wait staff were attentive and very helpful in finding vegan options. The food was excellent -- fresh, flavorful, and attractively plated.
One issue was the noise level -- it was so loud that it was difficult to hear the servers and my date and I had to lean across the table (a two-top) to hear each other. But even with the noise we both agreed that we'd go back.
Great location, great food, great service.
Our server was wonderful, the food was very good. However, I should have asked for a different table. It is beyond me why the hostess led us to a table where I had a view straight into a storage room with employees going in and out as they set up for the Valentine's dinner. There were very few tables occupied at lunch and my view really detracted from the ambience. This seems to be a common practice with restaurants and I am tired of being set up to reject the first table shown.
Mamnoon met all expectations. We had a reservation for the snowiest Saturday in years, and they called us in advance to let us know they would be open and to confirm our reservation. Our server, Tony, was a gem. He gave us great recommendations, including helping us figure out how much would be the right amount to order. We landed with a couple of small plates, two entrees, and dessert, with just enough leftover for a box. I'd say the weather was a stroke of good luck as it was a lot less crowded than I imagine it typically is on Saturdays, but I would definitely go back again regardless!
Definitely a place to go.
The reserve wine from Lebanese is great.
Sat at the bar. Excellent service and recommendations on drinks. Food was fantastic. If I lived in Seattle I’d be a regular.
Love love love Mamnoon! Try everything, it’s all good
Never been to Mammoon before. Everything was delicious. Great service! Went before a show and they got us out on time too!
Went for brunch, eggs way over cooked after asking if it would have a runny yolk
Really enjoyed our meal at Mamnoon. I was recommended to go to this restaurant by a work colleague, and it definitely met expectations. We got the appetizer and main sampler, as well as the eggplant and beef dip. All were really tasty and split well for four. Just beware of eating too much pita before getting to mains (it was amazing, but we were a little full by the time we got to mains).
Everything was great though don’t understand why they ask if we are celebrating a special occasion and then don’t acknowledge it.
The waiter said I hear it’s a birthday. Happy birthday.
I don’t expect anything but if they ask I assume they have a policy of doing something.
My husband and I agreed that our dining experience at Mamnoon was one of our favorite meals of all time...domestically and internationally. The food was flat out delicious, carefully prepared, beautifully presented and the flavors hit all the notes. We loved every course from the opening small plates, batteresh and moushakal, through our entrees (the kefta and kibbet yaqteen) and outrageously wonderful desserts. Please do save room for dessert! A bonus, our cocktails and the attentive, friendly service were worthy matches.
Everything was outstanding the food , the service and the ambiance !! Very fun place!
Phenomenal as always!
The most wonderful dining experience we have had visiting Seattle. The food was an experience and excellent, the service was fabulous and the staff so sweet!!
Amazing food. The flavors are like an music in your mouth and your taste buds are dancing to it. Super friends waiters , too. Love the place.
Absolutely delicious. Knowledgeable wait staff. Wonderful evening.
Exceptional experience. The service was great and the food was amazing, everything we ordered was outstanding, and the cocktails were outstanding as well, definitely will be going back for dinner again soon.
Overall it was pretty good. The mocktail no. 2 was fair, not as good as expected. The trout was extremely fishy, which sounds weird, but it completely threw off the flavor. The rest of the food though was overall great. The appetizer mezze platter was fantastic, and the kefta was delicious. The service was pretty good for Seattle, still could be improved. However, it’s a great eat and I’d recommend to a friend.
Fried Cauliflower was quite tasty. The moushakal combo platter was a good way to go, especially for sharing amongst 2-3 people. The only downside was that it was a rather loud due to the open kitchen and music. That's not atypical of many restaurants today, but I'd prefer it to be a bit quieter so you can better enjoy the food and company.
Overall fantastic experience! We had the cauliflower (and you should too), the mamnoon tauok, and babaganoosh!
Mamnoon is one of my favorite restaurants in Seattle. The food is to die for and the staff are incredibility hospitable. There is not one dish that I don't love!
I love this restaurant first of all. The food is wonderful. But the service on a Saturday night for a party of 2 this past visit was pretty bad. We waited a very long time to order a drink - by the time someone came by we placed the whole order. Our waiter said he didn’t think they could make the drink I’d ordered and when it finally came another 15 minutes later, it was incorrect. We sat at our table for another 20 min with just bread, waiting for associated spread to arrive. We were told there was a problem in the kitchen. Eventually we got small plates, veeeeerrrry slowly - one by one. Then we waited another 20 minutes for chicken entree. Once someone said it’d be right out, only to have us waiting another 5-10 minutes. People all around us seemed to be getting their food.
I’m glad I didn’t get a parking ticket since my meter ran out of time since I was there much longer than I’d anticipated for dinner with 2 courses. Waiter didn’t apologize at all and we were given full bill - I’d have thought they might offer to comp something.
As always an excellent meal with delicious cocktails . Provided a birthday "bite of dessert" for the man of the day. This was the first time the service was really slow.
Great evening crowd. Service excellent, food fresh and delicious, with large shareable plates our preference. Drinks were varied, with some winners like the Sumaquiri. Will repeat here.
I rarely write reviews of restaurants but Mamnoon deserves a special shout out. My husband and I enjoy Lebanese, Turkish and Middle Eastern food but this was a step above. We started off with terrific craft cocktails. Our server, Erin, was extremely helpful as most items on the menu were new to us. Nothing we ordered was too garlicky or spicy but the flavors were complex and balanced. We started off with a selection of spreads with freshly made pita. Each spread was unique and delicious. At our server's suggestion we also tried the Muhammara which was also exceptional. For our entree we shared the evening's special: a lamb shank with "potato pillows", beans and another kind of flatbread - this one was made with yogurt. The lamb shank was quite rich so we were glad we shared it. We will be returning to Mamnoon in the not so distant future. It is worth the hassle of driving into Seattle and trying to find parking on Capital Hill.
