Was just here for new year's eve .. our waitress was great the food was amazing and came fast . Drinks are a little pricey but they were worth it .. there mangonada drink was so good I had about 3 of those !
To bad there moving locations due to losing their lease but Logan square is not far and worth the trip !
I would definitely go back to Mas....The food was delicious and the ambiance was great! Love meeting friends at this spot.
So glad to hear that Mas will re-open in Logan Sq late next year (2017)...cannot wait to re-visit in its new location!! Please don't change the menu to much - especially the pricing - excellent quality at a fair price is definitely a major attraction!!
It was our first time dining with Mas, so we were disappointed to see it was already closing down after NYE. The special salsa was good, but exchanged the cranberry for tomatillo salsa. We loved the beef taco, but the pork belly were a bit fatty and bland. I loved my cucumber margarita, and my husband enjoyed his pineapple mezcal drink. Definitely has potential if you pick the right choices so looking forward to finding them at their new location.
*update* today I learned they are closing! I went for one last brunch. Will miss this place!!!
Soooo good! I went for brunch with a few friends and everything was awesome. The service was wonderful too. The Mezcal Mule was a smokey variation of the Moscow Mule and it rocked. The Pozole with shredded; fall off the bone, pork, broth, hominy, chips and oregano was perfect. So many dishes on that menu I want to try; I will definitely go back!
Delicious and well worth it if you can make Happy hours, which are 4-6 everyday!
Everything that I had here was great, but I think my favorite was the black bean falafel taco. I would go back again for that. Service was a bit slow but we enjoyed our meal and our waitress was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend going during the happy hour though, because without the 2 for $5 taco deal, I would've found this place a bit overpriced.
Service and food were excellent. 1st time ever I tried a "sandía margarita"...AWESOME!

Authentic Mexican in small plate portions; great margaritas
Food was ok but nothing remarkable. There are so many great taco places in Chicago and this place isn't doing much to stand above the crowd.
Why are there jalapeños in the kids guac?
The best tacos we've had in a long time. Chips, salsa and guacamole also delicious and not the usual fare. Casual but modern design.
We ate a fabulous meal! Delicious tacos! We will b back for sure!
Amazing service providing simply spectacular food. Our reservation was a Monday evening so probably a bit quieter than weekends. our server was awesome at explaining the menu and making appropriate suggestions for our group. We had just the right amount of shared dishes. Our favorites were the slightly spicy margarita and the beef taco but everything was delicious. We ended with 2 dessert samplers which were perfect for our group of 7. Save room for it!
Server very confused about check and had to change twice as he overcharged me.
Was kind of underwhelming for the prices. Open table made it seem better than I personally thought it was.
I went for lunch. Nice decor. Very few patrons. Limited menu. I was confused because the tacos are listed under Gusaidos which means stew. The waitress said they represent traditional Mexican dishes. Hhmmm... Tacos were mas o menos (just so so). I may give them another shot but I think I'll go later in the day.
Went for Happy Hour dinner with girlfriend. $6 margarita and 2 for $5 tacos were not bad, and we had the guac & chips. Very tasty.
Enjoyed every second of this corner gem! Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Enjoyed the drinks and recommendations from staff. Wait staff was friendly and offered good suggestions. Can't wait to dine in again!
We didn't have great service. We got our menus and then waited for 10 minutes for anyone to approach us. Then, once we had our food, no one came back for about 20 minutes and only to bring the bill. We had planned on ordering dessert but went elsewhere. Disappointed, because we've had a great experience here in the past.
Decided to try this restaurant for my birthday, so I went with family. The food was good, but multiple people in our party had to send it back because by the time we got it, it was cold. It was difficult getting their attention to correct the food issue, as our waiter was also doubling as a bartender. When they brought back food the second time around, some people's food was STILL cold. It wasn't that busy as for them to screw things up this badly. Other than the experience, the food was good. In a city like Chicago, good food alone is not enough, as there are too many other great options.
Food was ok but nothing special. Music was annoying (club music) for a dinner.
Place sucked. Okay good for far too much money. I think this place is ironically named considering we got about 4 tacos and a margarita for $80.
Wonderful gourmet tacos & specialty drink was awesome!
Smaller restaurant, however the food is amazing and definitely worth how much you pay!! I had the Mole and my boyfriend had the chorizo, both were amazing and just enough food for both of us. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area.
Great cocktails! The watermelon margarita is delish. Service could improve as they don't seem to have the flow of handling a crowd, being attentive and smiling at the customers. When noise level is high you can barely hear your table conversation.
Overall good food and good experience; only downfall was the restaurant was super loud, even before it got crowded, making it very difficult to hear each other. We were a party of 5 and I couldn't hear anything from the other end of the table.
A neighborhood gem in West Loop! The house-made guacamole and root vegetable chips are a must.
Great food and great ambiance.
Food was decent but overall vibe wasn't anything special and the service was particularly slow. Usually don't take the time to review, but with so many awesome Mexican restaurants to test out in Chicago, I feel it necessary to share my experience. Look elsewhere!
The food was awesome but we will not go back. The menu is so confusing that it took the waiter three attempts to try and explain it. Even then we were surprised when we got our food. If they would change their menu to reflect how people typically dine the place would be perfect. Serve complete dishes not bits and pieces which in inevitably end up in a very poorly composed meal.
Example: serve a series of tacos accompanied with the appropriate sides that compliment them resulting in a well composed, proper sized dish.
We did what the waiter recommended and ended up with individual items that tasted great but together.......not so much. This could be a great place but they need to step away from what they are trying to be because it is not working.
Great place that's still enough of a newbie and off the beaten path of Randolph St. mania that a table can be had easily. The tacos are a must-try.
Wonderful service
Delicious flavorful and a great value. Nice sized portions and we loved the Mexican donut dessert.
Great service! Their "secret" Michelada mix is delicious! The guacamole and veggie chips were amazing. There really isn't anything negative to say about this place. The food is very tasty and the service is just as great!
I would totally come back for after work drinks/appetizers. I was a little underwhelmed by the food but the cocktails were worth a trip!
Fabulous Margaritas and friendly laid back staff and vibe.
Loved Chef Fernando, he was very personable. He came out to our table and explained all the dishes. We LOVED our experience
Great ambiance, awesome drinks
Impeccable service, amazing food.
