We made a reservation and arrived in time with wine in hand to find a sign on the door that they were closed due to a gas leak. They should have notfied us ahead of time.
We had the Peruvian 4 course special and everything was amazing. And a wonderful chocolate dessert was brought for my friend's birthday. Service was outstanding..... thanks Sylvia!
It was perfection.
We have been at Mica many times. Because it is always inspiring. I love the three female servers. The work together seamlessly. It is always fun and delicious.
Romantic BYOB that is great for a date or friend gathering. We did the chef’s tasting menu and were very happy we did! Each course was executed perfectly and seasoned well. They have salt and pepper on the table but this chef knows his business, so it’s a formality to have it on there. My favorite was the tuna crudo. We will definitely return!
The scallops entree was phenomenal, as was the salmon. Small plates that were outstanding were charred eggplant, cauliflower soup and the beet salad. Food is always great! Chef sent out some croquettes, which is a nice touch. I would say the front room has more ambiance than the back room. But the back room is quieter and cozy.
This was our first time at Mica and started off with blue crab beignets which were fabulous! The other snacks and appetizers were pretty good and our main dishes of scallops, lamb, crispy salmon and chicken were great, with the scallops dish being less great, but certainly good. Bread was also delicious, but other than the churros, we would skip dessert next time.
The room was like being in a fireside quaint inn and we loved the ambiance!
Wonderful as always. We are so lucky to have Mica as one of our neighborhood restaurants. Worth the travel for folks who don’t live in CH.
The Wednesday/Thursday fixed price dinners are a great bargain.
The courses were fantastic, with the spaghetti dish knocking me out!
Our server, Silvia was so polite and helpful.
We can't wait to see what the next offering will be.
Excellent service, food was well prepared
Always a wonderful experience at Mica. Food and service always consistently excellent. Love that it's a BYO.
Excellent meal , did the 6 course tasting menu and it was superb.
The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered three appetizers and barkers, and they really worked! I was particularly fond of my snails, draped with a green sauce (pesto?) that made me very happy. I liked the tuna tartar, but there was a little too many carrot slices. And I started with oysters with a hint of mushrooms, but I didn’t find them.
Overall, Mica was superb in many ways, for me, better than the old Mica which was excellent but too pretentious. It fizzled towards its last days. If I had a choice, I would given the current Mica 4 1/2 stars because I like to save the "5s" for the truly great dining giants like Eleven Madison in NYC. Nonetheless, Mica is near there. One criticism, my fish was made with butter, which I get because it gives a lot of taste. However, it was too buttery. BYO!
Outstanding meal. Farm to table at its best. Creative food, great flavors and presentation. Service gracious and attentive. Good price point considering the high quality of the meal. Best restaurant in the area and we look forward to dining here again.
We could not have enjoyed the tasting menu more. Excellent food, interesting choices.
This lovely place never disappoints! Another wonderful experience. Thank you!
We love Mica. The food is unbelievable exceptional and beyond what you would get at a normal restaurant. This is 5 stars, Top Chef, James Beard award winning chef type level. We have never had an experience anything less than amazing here. Also great that it's BYOB!
The tasting menu was spectacular--what a lovely way to spend 2 hours!
Outstanding food but portions are soooooo small. I’m not a big eater, but three bites of the entree and you’re done! Expensive but BYO helps. I will definitely return but maybe on a weeknight when it’s not so crowded and noisy
Superb food and ambience. Our favorite restaurant in the area. The Mushroom Soup was exceptional.
Restaurant week offers a good opportunity to eat at this expensive restaurant, a cute little place in chestnut hill. Food always excellent, service usually ok, it’s tight and ambiance not great. Not pleased that a baby was crying and carrying on next to us. Overall good but they are not very thankful for your business. Never thanked when eating here, but again the food is great albeit overpriced.
Restaurant week $35. pre fixe, excellent value, spectacular food, warm, busy ambiance, mildly inattentive service. Great overall first time experience.
Great tasting menu. The wait staff were excellent. And the chef was happy to give wine recommendations before hand!!! We have a fantastic evening.
Food was delicious.
Quiet ambience so you could have great conversation.
My husband and I went during Restaurant Week. Everything was lovely. The ambiance is always delightful. The service has an ease but is efficient and never overbearing. The food is fresh, full of flavor and never disappoints.
Always a phenomenal meal. Chef Yanni is cooking some really great food here. And bonus that it's BYO. We were there tonight for the truffle tasting. It was stellar. Any of those dishes could have been served in a Michelin NYC restaurant. Run, don't walk here!
Great innovative food and competent knowledgeable server
Valentine's 4-course fixed menu: a few of the courses were very good, with the exception of the primary courses (2) lobster & chicken, they were quite disappointing, and at $79/person to boot. This was our second time there - our previous experience was 5-stars! We'll be back, just not for any fixed price offerings... One additional note, the wait staff were great both times.
Excellant food, interesting menu served in gracious surroundings. And BYOB is the best
Chefs menu for Valentine’s Day. Was great.
I've been to this restaurant 3 times with the previous owner. We always had FANTASTIC prix fix experiences always surrounding a theme. Innovative and creative food! This time we went to a Valentine's prix fix menu. Our entire party left pretty dissatisfied, and frankly still hungry. It wasn't a terrible experience, but when there is a pretty high bar set from previous visits, this time it was very disappointing. I was really bummed out.
First visit to mica. This was a four-course prix fix menu. The choices were all great. The food was excellent from appetizer to dessert. The service was prompt, complete but discreet. All in all a great experience.
This place is a gem! Love the ambiance and the service... food was spectacular! I often question places that charge high amounts to what essentially I think I could make but none of the dishes here I could replicate. The duck liver was so rich and so good. The clams and mussels were well done with sea foam! The lobster was good (but they could’ve given me the whole lobster). And the churro dessert was good.
Would highly recommend. Compliments to the chef.
We celebrated our anniversary and Valentine's day here. It was a 4 course prix fixe that night. The food was delicious, though the portions were extremely small. I'm not one to like huge portions, but this was quite slight. I had salmon that was cooked to perfection with deliciously crispy skin. My wife ordered the lobster thermidor. It was one claw of meat placed in a half lobster body shell. There was actually about an inch of meat on the claw that was edible, though chewy. The rest was tough and stuck to shell. She hated to do it, but she returned it and ordered steak, which was perfectly prepared and tender. All in all a good meal, though the lobster experience makes me wonder if I'd want to go back.
Stumbled upon Mica when looking for local restaurants that offered chef's tasting menus. I visited with my fiance on a Saturday evening for just that, and we were not disappointed! The chef was very accommodating with allergies / dietary restrictions and able to offer something right for everyone at the table. The food was simply incredible, and there was nothing we tried that we did not like. The service to start was a bit slow. We were seated right on time and served water, but another couple who was seated about 10 minutes after us, had orders taken and served their first course before our wine was open or order was taken. Otherwise, once our first course came out, the service was timely and servers were knowledgeable about each course. Would recommend!
It was our first time at Mica, we live in the area and we choosed it for a date night, the food was amazing, very delicious, the server could been more inviting and welcoming, we had to ask questions for her to give us some more information about the food, overall it was a great experience and we would definitely be back.
I was very impressed with Mica. The places was welcoming, warm, and cozy. Each courses flavors were beyond my expectations. Can’t wait to return.
A little on the expensive side but the food is absolutely delicious. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet night out with great food. It’s also BYOB
We received an email notice of a special pre-fixe dinner featuring aa Alsatian menu. Since we have been to the Alsatian region several times snd had amazing meals, we decided to make a reservation. The food and presentation were every bit as good as the meals we enjoyed in our travels! It was a great dining experience, and we actually asked if the chef had an Alsatian background. She told us no, but that Mica regularly offers regional specialties that the chef has researched. We will definitely take advantage of these special dinners in the future... we recently moved to Chestnut Hill and can easily walk to the restaurant!
