Three of us enjoyed lunch at Cuisine MATC Restaurant in celebration of a 65th birthday. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. He was somewhat attentive, but we often had to wait for quite some time to find him and get his attention. All three of us ordered the top sirloin with mashed potatoes, a brown sauce and a spinach and red pepper vegetable. I ordered my steak medium. It was perfectly prepared and the spinach vegetable side was excellent. My steak was a bit tough. The shrimp bisque soup was outstanding. Both of my friends ordered their steak medium rare. One was prepared nicely, and she was delighted with her entree. Our other friend got her steak, and instead of medium rare, it was medium to medium well. She could not find our server but was able to get the attention of a supervisor. He took the steak back to the kitchen to have a new entree prepared. After waiting for at least 15-20 minutes, the second steak was brought to her. This steak bordered on well done and the spinach side was lacking the peppers. Again we were unable to locate our server. The supervisor/manager appeared again, and he agreed that the steak was improperly prepared. I will say that he made right with us on our tab. While I realize that the chefs and servers are students, it seems that they should be able get a medium rare steak properly cooked or at least close on the second try. Having said all of this, we all agreed that we will go again. The desserts we ordered were delicious. It is a nice place to enjoy lunch if you understand that mistakes will occur with these students. He’s a solid citizen with talent and charm. To our good fortune he just happens to hail from Texas and he can cook and he can sing. And he loves to do both. That’s how Tex Tubb’s Taco Palace came to be. It’s where his two worlds collide. It’s informal, friendly, casual, rustic, chaotic, comfortable, affordable, and fun. A joint, a bar with great food, authentic food. It’s his home away from home, it’s his palace.More

Do you think skiing and Wisconsin go together? Now you can add food to that list! Due to a historically large Germanic population, you will find many heartwarming meals here. Hamburgers are loved in America, and Wisconsin took that to heart. Take some crafted, in-state cheese, add butter with the hamburger, and wrap with a bun. If you find yourself on the road, there are many varieties of Wisconsin sausage. You'll get hungry just thinking about the fresh cranberries, the official fruit of Wisconsin, and all the decadent desserts that include them. The discovery of lead brought miners from England that imparted their love of pasties, which is actually closer to a pot pie. While looking like an omelet, you’ll find an assortment of potatoes, rutabaga, onions, and meat inside Cornish pasties.
