I always enjoyed this place before the pandemic and the food and service are still good. However to find out that they now charge for bread and butter and also tack on a credit card surcharge fee, which can be removed if asked but are you telling me the corporation that owns this restaurant didnt price that into their meal costs? It just feels cheap and I’m not sure I’d go back based on that.
Supper a little on the early side. Wasn’t too busy.
So glad to have Mon Ami Gabi back! In the past couple weeks I've eaten indoors once, and outdoors once. With the additional space between tables indoors, it seems less rushed and more relaxing. And very friendly staff.
The food was good as expected. Only thing different than my last visit is that the have adopted the European habit of no free bread.
Also, the 3% COVID surcharge , which you can ask to have removed, is a little petty in MHO. All businesses suffered with Covid and most places will add a $5 charge, not a percentage of the bill.
We have always enjoyed dine at Mon Ami Gabi. The food continues to be outstanding. Our server could not have been better.
It was a wonderful experience! Celebrating my daughter’s 30th Birthday
great place for lunch. bring back the bread, however.
So great to go back into a restaurant and such a great one at that. Great menu, great food, great service. Wonderful!
So nice to see things returning to normal. Enjoyed a nice lunch with a colleague. Service and food excellent. William the manager stopped by to say hello. I’ll be back again soon.
It's a taste of France! The music is nice, the food selections ate French, and it resembles the French Brasserie experience.
Nate , our server was terrific and helped make the whole experience a pleasurable.
What a warm welcome back to a long time favorite. And what a night. Short ribs were the special of the evening. So rich and comforting. Heirloom tomato and feta salad was a perfect starter. As usual the bar service was excellent and the staff seemed very excited to be back to a more normal service.
A quick shout out to Oolash for making every experience at Mon Ami Gabi feel like a VIP event.
Can’t wait to go back for Sunday brunch
My husband and I had a very enjoyable dinner Saturday night. Escargot were perfect! Had just the right amount of seasoning and with the hot French baguette it was great we then share the tomato and feta salad. Tomatoes were refectory ripe and lovely. Finally we shared a burger. If you love burgers they are the best in town!! We finished with chocolate torte and took it home. Yum yum!!
Server was lovely and he was always there when we needed him and so nice to us!
Had a great night! Highly recommend!!
Food and service outstanding. We had steak fritz and filet mignon, medium rare. Cooked as ordered, tasted great. Also had escargot and the tomato salad to share as appetizers...they were tasty. You do have to pay for the bread now, but it's cheap and very good (served warm)
Nice place, nice food, happy to come back. I wish Nutty Russian alcoholic drink would become available again, it’s your in-house recipe and was delicious! Too bad it’s gone off the menu.
I am a regular customer and find the food ambience and service to always be excellent. I love that in the food weather the doors are open and the inside is fresh air. Trout amandine is delicious.
We were looking forward to our first post-pandemic Mon Ami Gabi outdoor dining experience on a beautiful day. We were seated and although everyone around us was being actively waited on, we were never even greeted or acknowledged in any way. After 20-25 minutes, we left to go elsewhere. Unfortunate.
Nice comfortable great place for lunch or dinner! The food was great and the service was great!
French Toast was superb and the service was excellent.
I’ve eaten here many times in the past. It’s a pretty place with good service and usually decent food. Yesterday I had one of my worst ever meals and could not eat more than a few bites: the chicken , Brie and mushroom crepe. The dish was extremely salty, the chicken pieces were rubbery and seemed like leftover meat, and the mushrooms tasted off and if they were spoiled. Ugh. The waiter removed the charge from our bill but I felt sick last night after eating only a small amount.
Noisy, mediocre food, inexperienced service. Not worth the price
It seemed very rushed from the moment we sat down. The food came within 10 mins of ordering which wasn’t assuring. It wasn’t a French dining experience at all, it seemed over serviced and very rushed.
I have going to this restaurant for several years and have always enjoyed the excellent service and good food. However, on 5/29/21, I visited the restaurant for lunch to celebrate a special Birthday and was extremely disappointed with the negative attitude I received from the waiter and the staff in general. I am not sure if the COVID crisis played a part in my observation of if its a new way of operating. This establishment is considered a high class restaurant and the food prices reflect the same. However, on this visit the staff dress code did not reflect professionalism. One waitress seated us and before we knew it another waiter appeared to take our order. When I asked what happened to the waitress that took our drink order I received a response saying he (the waiter) was taking over. He seemed noticeably disturbed that i asked the question and immediately had a attitude that was less then acceptable. Has he at least introduced himself and volunteered the information I would have been more receptive to the reason for the change. It ended when I called the maître d over to complain about the negative attitude of the waiter and insist on a replacement. Although he was very agreeable and apologetic about the incident and agreed to take over the service he lacked understanding of proper serving skills. I was really disappointed over the entire affair and question whether I will go back to this restaurant. I have seen a noticeable decline in the entire staff's ability to understand proper etiquette when serving the customer. The dress code of the staff needs to be upgraded. Approaching me in Dungarees and open shirt does not work in this particular so called upgraded restaurant. SHAME ON THE MANAGEMENT OF THIS ESTABLISHMENT TO ALLOW THIS TYPE OF DEGRADED SERVICE AND CONDUCT!!!
There was a heavy smell of gas in the restaurant. When we brought it up to the girls at the front they just said “okay” and looked away. Our waiter was kind and explained everyone complains about the smell but they have no reason as to why it’s there. We ended up leaving before ordering because the smell was as making me nauseas and gave my friend a headache. Someone needs to check that place out. I can’t imagine it’s healthy for anyone.
Our meal was impeccable and the service nothing less than perfect. We sat outside and had a great view of pedestrian traffic. I had a salad with the addition of salmon and it was absolutely delicious.
Not impressed at all. I’ve been going to Mon Ami Gabi for years. If you charge your customers a 5% COVID surcharge then the expectation is that the surcharge allows you to maintain the pre-COVID quality.
Food was disappointing. You now charge for a baguette that used to be included, your famously thin and crispy fries are now poor quality pub fries, and the steak was neither cooked as ordered nor anything close to flavorful.
Get your act together.
One of my favorite places to eat! Food and Service are both great.
I love the desserts at Mon Ami Gabi, and the service and outdoor seating is also lovely. I have been eating there for years, and it is a standard great lunch place for me.
A few changes in the post -pandemic era. More widely spaced tables. French Baguette no longer complimentary. Still excellent food and good service.
After a number of unfortunate incidents, 3 times they got the order incorrect in the kitchen but both the Manager and waiter did an excellent job in making our evening lovely and we definitely loudly like to congratulate them. The restaurant was very understaffed for the large turn out but once again they went beyond the call of making our evening great. Thank you so much 😀🌺
Servers in the outdoor section were incredibly slow and forgetful.
The food was great but they sat us in the outdoor bar seating without telling us, so there was a lot of confusion since that area didn’t assign a server to each table. We ended up sitting around for ~20 minutes waiting for someone to come take our order. Everything else was great once we got the confusion cleared up.
The cut of the filet mignon was too small for the price
The white wine was served warm. Ended up adding ice to our glasses. Our meal took over an hour to be served!
Food was very good, but somewhat expensive. I disagree with the COVID surcharge.
Very friendly staff. We sat outside and it was very nice.
