   The food and service were exceptional. Patty took great care with us. Crawfish and goat cheese crepes, crab and asparagus soup, shrimp and grits and Creme Brulee were top notch. The experience was equal to the best we have had at Muriel's. It took us back to pre-covid days.

    Great location right on Jackson Square where you can keep an eye on all the activity taking place there. Wait staff is professional and attentive. This was our second visit with the first being one year ago. We thought that the food was good but not as good as our previous experience last year. Relative to other dining choices in and around the French Quarter we thought the food was over priced given the quality and selection. We all three opted for the three course dinner selection (though all selections are available a la carte). The gumbo was average, the tomato-shrimp-curry bisque was very good. The pecan-crusted drum fish was good but not as good as many similar offerings around town - the preparation could use some help to tone down the pecan intensity, and I like pecans (some of the pecans were burnt) and enhance the roux (not sure it really was a roux). The pork chop was substantial and the sauce was good, just not great. The bread pudding was overly sweet and heavy. As ones who try a bread pudding just about everywhere (and acknowledge that recipes vary widely) we were not fans of this rendition. The flan was good but not exceptional - hey, its flan. What do you expect? I suspect that there may have been some turnover in the kitchen or perhaps we caught them on a bad night, but last year was much better than this year.

    Our first experience at Muriel’s for Easter brunch was FABULOUS! The food was amazing from the appetizers to the desserts and our servers Kevin & Joey went out of their way to make us feel special. The jazz trio even came to our table to play a song just for us. Don’t miss a visit into the seance room for an impromptu photo shoot—so fun!

    Jazz brunch was incredible. We sat downstairs right room and had the jazz trio in our room at 11am. The food was delicious — the appetizer crepes of crawfish and cheese delish - and the crab cakes and poached eggs on corn hash was next level. Would definitely recommend.

    The ambiance of this restaurant is extremely unique and some tables are divided with renderings of classic literature. The restaurant even comes with a ghost tale and a seance room upstairs, which we enjoyed exploring. The food was delicious, but I don't know if it was worth the prices. It was our splurge meal for our trip, so we knew what to expect.

    Food was good. Service was good…their system of a drink waiter and food waiter is something more restaurants should try. Had the pre-fixe menu with gumbo, pecan-crusted drum, and crème brûlée. Again, good, but can’t give the 5th star. $50 for a three course meal is a good price!

    Muriel's was outstanding. The choices available for brunch were outstanding. I had the Crab Dip appetizer and the Duck Hash entree. My wife had the Seafood Gumbo appetizer and Goat Cheese and Crawfish Crepes entree. Both appetizers and entrees were very, very good. The ambience was outstanding as the 3-piece jazz band played from different places in the restaurant including right next to our table. They also took requests and sang happy birthday tableside for another table. The service was excellent and the white chocolate bread pudding for dessert was a great ending.

    The food was awful. Appetizers were cold and mushy, snapper was so tough it was difficult to chew and items that should be crisp were soggy and wet from sitting too long or not being properly drained. Our waiters were fabulous, we can’t say enough good things about the service, however the food was terrible and we will never eat here again. While there were plenty of kids at dinner (our included) there was a baby screaming and shrieking at the top of their lungs the entire 1.5 hours we were there. Having kids ourselves we were understanding but the parents did nothing to try and help calm him down while the host ran to the tables apologizing for the noise. Not the ambiance for a $200 dinner that also had terrible food.

    The good: My wife and I both purchased the prix fix option from the menu. The onion and tomato tart appetizer was one of the best we have ever had. My wife l loved the shrimp and grits. I chose the double-cut pork chops and the pork chops were Cooked to perfection and delicious. Dessert choices were good and the chocolate cake was perfect! Management personnel picked up slack from apathetic server by engaging with us and clearing dishes after use. The not so good: Waitress clearly not pleased that my wife and I don’t drink alcoholic beverages so, her attention and politeness towards us was absent. She took every opportunity to slam a dish or utensil on the table when serving. We noticed other couples enjoying the bread and we had to ask for a serving of bread for our table. Although management was attentive, my wife and I noticed the young man hovering near our table and watching as I ate my final pieces of pork. I might add that although the pork was delicious the side dishes lacked creativity and were not edible. (Mushy and bland mustard greens and sweet potatoes with apples and Cajun spice) Not the best options. The sides were my primary reason for eating so slow. Anyway, they pushed and pushed and managed to get out $140.00 for only 66 minutes yo our dining experience We will dine elsewhere the next time we are in New Orleans. R. Jones

    We really enjoyed our dinner at Muriel's. We had two people who had allergy concerns and the staff was very helpful in helping them choose what to eat. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We liked the table dividers, between guests that provided privacy and coziness. The food was delicious and we didn't have to wait long for it. I recommend making reservations.
