Loon Fung Restaurant has served delicious Cantonese cuisine for more than four decades in one of the busiest areas of Edinburgh. Its location at 2 Warriston Place is only 9 minutes drive away from Edinburgh Waverley Station. Royal Botanic Garden can be reached within a 9 minute walk and Edinburgh Castle is less than a 10 minute drive away from Loon Fung Restaurant’s premises. The interior is decorated in an understated oriental style which embraces the charm of dining in a relaxed setting. Though specialising in Cantonese cuisine, loon Fung Restaurant’s recipes draw on a wide range of inspirations from many different parts of China. Tasting a variety of dim sum, prepared the traditional way, is going to be one of the highlights of dining in there. The restaurant is well known for its seafood recipes too. A hearty meal at the restaurant may consist of any combination of tasty soups, rice, lemon chicken, and hot platters.

The Other Place, at 2-4 Broughton Road in the Bonnington area of Edinburgh, serves American style comfort food. Located in close proximity to the Water of Leith and Royal Botanic Garden of Edinburgh, Waverley Station is 5 minutes' drive or 15-20 minutes by bus or on foot. The restaurant's unpretentious interior features exposed brick walls, an open kitchen and dark wood furniture. The Other Place’s menu is composed of American favourites with a Scottish slant. Appetisers including an elaborate antipasti platter and nachos are offered at the beginning of a meal, closely followed by a variety of tasty burgers, hot dogs, salads and deep fried items. A short but sweet list of desserts draws a tempting conclusion to a meal. The Other Place’s extensive drinks list includes a number of premium beers, ciders, spirits, wines and cocktails.
