Borrego Springs Restaurants

Another trip to bar Cecil- this time had the bread (do not miss!) the mussels to share - delicious- and the fish (with carmelized sweet potato and whipped celeriac). Honestly - we drive 25-30 minutes from La Quinta every time and it is ALWAYS worth the trip. Set your alarm and book in advance so you can get in. It’s that good.

The patio is a beautiful large seating area. Excellent live guitar entertainment. The server was efficient and on the spot when we needed something. I had the famous Arnold Palmer meat loaf. It’s served with mashed potatoes and green beans. Topped with BBQ sauce. It’s always delicious. My friend had the double rib pork chop. It was tender and delicious also. We had the chopped salad. The food was hot when served. The restaurant was packed as usual. You must make reservations through Open Table well in advance. We think this is the best outside patio for dining in the valley. We are never disappointed here.

Our Anniversary and Thanksgiving fell on the same day this year. Due to Lavender Bistro's reputation for amazing cuisine and our dinner date was on Thanksgiving, the place was very crowded. Even so, the hostesses and servers were very cheerful, and efficient. Our table was beside one of the beautifully lighted trees. It was hard to decide which appetizer and entree on the menu to pick, since they all looked delicious. We were pleased with our choices. We will definitely be returning.

It was a busy place. The Thanksgiving celebrations by many were in full swing. We sat on the front patio instead of inside and at times it was noisy due to car going by. Food was good, nice wine to pair with dinner and exceptional service from Christine. All in all a nice time and dinner overall.
