- TTedPhiladelphia County •4 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoI am always hesitant to order a steak at any restaurant that isn’t a steak house. Having been reassured by our server, I ordered the filet mignon. It was fabulous, as good if not better to that which I have had any any choice steak house! In addition, our server was the best we’ve had in a long time. She was friendly, timely, responsive, informative and May I add authentic. She was what every customer service person should strive to be! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience; it was a wonderful way to celebrate her birthday!More infoTeca Newtown SquarePrice: Expensive• Italian• Newtown Square•4.6

- IIda LuciavipPhiladelphia County •302 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoThe food and service was amazing. The octopus was the most tender and delicious I have ever had. The fresh whole grilled fish was amazing. I had the Lavraki (Mediterranean sea bass), my husband had the Dover Sole with a side of Spanokorizo that I thought was one of the most delicious vegetable dishes with the brightness of fresh dill that brought it to life.More infoEstia Taverna – RadnorPrice: Expensive• Greek• Radnor•4.8
- RRobertPhiladelphia County •5 reviews5.0Dined 6 days agoI have just one complaint. And this complaint applies to literally every restaurant I have been to over at least five years. Here it is: why is the print in the bill so tiny and faded? Don’t tell me it was just this restaurant - not true. With advances in technology why can’t the type be little larger than it currently is. Plus how about the ink? Faded grey just doesn’t hack it! I cannot believe I am the only person that feels this way. I will be curious as to any responses you get.More infoWhite Dog Cafe - WaynePrice: Moderate• Contemporary American• Wayne•4.6

12 of Philadelphia’s outstanding spots for celebrating special occasions
Maybe you got engaged on the steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art or just picked up the keys to your first rowhouse. It could be that your kid is (finally) toilet trained, or that your noisy neighbor moved away. Sometimes, simply surviving another Tuesday can be an occasion to celebrate over a restaurant meal. It doesn’t have to be fancy. What makes an occasion special isn’t an arbitrary date on the calendar—it’s the decision to celebrate. Luckily, Philadelphia bursts with places where the food and atmosphere lend themselves to living it up. Grab dinner and a jazz show at a swinging North Broad Street faithful. Opt for a quieter night at a critically acclaimed, plant-based gem in Midtown Village. Or splurge on a swanky steakhouse that presides over a corner of Rittenhouse Park. Whether you’re after an intimate spot for an anniversary date or a convivial atmosphere for a boisterous reunion, Philadelphia has you covered with these 12 celebration-worthy restaurants.
