Exquisite food, attentive service, excellent sushi makes Omakase a joy to visit.
I have been dying to come here for awhile and the stars finally aligned. Was able to join a couple of friends and went for the Yamato Omakase.
The timing of the plate delivery was perfect, I never felt rushed or like I was waiting for food to arrive.
Portions were perfect. I was worried that I was going to be too full by the end of the meal but by the time they served dessert I was ready.
My favorite of the Nigiri was the Kamasu (Japanese Barracuda) cant recall ever having it before so it was a real treat.
The staff was attentive and yet didn't hover or intrude so it was really nice to have a quiet evening with my friends were we could just chat about the food.
Would love to come here again.
Excellent ambiance for a special occasion or date experience. It is expensive, but you go for an amazing sushi ride with your taste buds! Definitely something I would book again!
Fantastic experience, Sake pairing worked really well with the dishes.
We would give one additional star if we could. Awesome birthday celebration for my daughter.
Amazing food and service!
absolute wonderful! Best sushi I ever have!
Overpriced for the quality and portion. After going to a few omakase restaurants in NYC, this one pale in comparison.
The best sushi in San Francisco! We drive in from the East Bay. The tasting menu with Waygu beef is just amazing. Service is engaged and not stuffy. Highly recommend.
Sake pairing was excellent with the Yamato omakase. Smoked amber jack is my favorite fish. Trout roe was also delicious. Yuzu zest added to some dishes was a refreshing flavor. Best miso soup I've ever had. Glad I sat at the sushi bar. I loved watching chefs sear fish and beef, grate fresh wasabi, slice fish, etc. My main issue is the price of the meals. Not enough outstanding dishes to justify the high price. Some items I did not like and would not want to eat them again, such as giant clam, too salty soy sauce, pollock fish.
Great experience! Great for a special occasion!! Expensive but worth it! Ask for Chef Jason!!!
Absolutely outstanding in every respect. The food's superiority was matched by the attentiveness of the waitstaff.
The food was very good, but I didn’t feel the service matched the price or the Michelin Star. We arrived 2 mins after the hour, and it took a while to get our first bite, then we felt rushed during the rest of the meal. The chef seemed to be distracted by the couple next to us, and forgot to announce what a few pieces of nigiri were. Finally, I was a little off-put that they charged $4 for green tea when we were spending over $200 for the meal. Overall tasty sushi, but I’ve had better omakase experiences at other restaurants.
Chef Tom was anaing
Great restaurant, great food, great service. If you have the means, I highly recommend...
Come if you want to waste money on some tasteless pieces of fish
Can stay there for a long time.
Great omakase! Right up there with our sushi experiences in Tokyo (with amazing service). We'll be back!
The best Omakase so far.
Well, it’s literally the best and most expensive Japanese cuisine that I ever had!
A very personalized and genuine service by Master Chef Jackson Yu. He served Nigiri he would himself enjoy to eat. His precise 8 mg of sushi rice was an enjoyable interaction with fellow diners.
Hard to imagine how this meal could be better. Michelin Star quality sushi. Unique offering in SF.
My wife and I celebrate here for many occasions. Every time is a unique experience of amazing omakase sushi. The food and sake quality is superb. The chef will explain all the wonderful details of each dish's preparation and origin.
Once again, the Michelin Star restaurants disappoint. Apparently, weird has replaced good for the mark of a decent high end dining establishment. After a 1500 dinner for four, all I can say is "meh." And frankly, that's being nice. Most of the dishes were not terrible good. There were one or two exceptions, but nothing terribly noteworthy.
The house-made wasabi was quite good. So they have that going for them.
If this was a regular, non-Michelin Star rated restaurant, and cost less far less than it currently costs, I would say it was good. However, due to price and rating, I was underwhelmed.
Unreal experience. Everything was amazing except for the woman over in the corner that wouldn't shut up talking to the owner. The food was delicious and the chef's were great. Next time I am in San Fran I will be returning. This restaurant makes all the homeless and needles laying around everywhere worth the trip. Best sushi in USA hands down.
Fantastic experience. The nigiris are the best ever.
Amazing meal, amazing presentation, and excellent sake pairings. Thank you for the wonderful evening.
Best dinner date ever
Such an amazing experience to celebrate my 5 year anniversary with my lady. I would recommend this to anyone that wants to enjoy fine Japanese food.
My fiancé and I went to their for his birthday. It was an amazing meal!!! It was not a big place, every chef served 3 or 4 guests. We had a great chat with our chef. He answered everything we asked and told us stories about their food and the materials. The fish was very fresh and delicious. This place is a perfect one for occasions!
Everything was perfect, delicious - loved sitting at the counter.
It was great! Our chef was the owner and it was so nice chatting with him.
Amazing service and outstanding food. Final bill was a bit steep, but it's hard to get much better sushi and service in San Francisco. We'll be back for another special occasion down the road.
Not remarkable to support the price point. Most courses of the tasting menu were fresh sashimi or nigiri. We felt silly afterward for spending $750 on a meal with sake for two.
May be worthwhile for someone else
Omakase was an incredible experience. It was approximately 3 hours long, with a constant line-up of specialty items. The chefs and waiters were attentive. It was definitely worth the price. I hope to return again soon.
Great Omakase experience! The attention to detail resonated in the flavors savored with each bite.
