Over The Moon Cafe
Dinner features various entrees , starters, salads and desserts. There is a heavy emphasis on both Italian and French fare, along with my love of comfort food. I do my best to provide wines that are of good quality, are affordable and approachable.
Turn in to the Alley and experience a truly unique fine dining experience in an atmosphere of understated elegance. "Cafe" -- An unpretentious restaurant.
Love this place! Great food! Good vibes.
Excellent little hideaway restaurant with a very home-style feel. Fresh ingredients, great wine list, the ribs were soft and juicy, and the salmon had great crust and wasn't dry as can happen with overcooking fish. Great place!!
This place is always a treat. Amazing menu, cooks and staff here.
A fabulous place to enjoy an excellent meal. Everyone is so nice and accommodating. We just love this restaurant. And the wine selection is exceptional and reasonably priced. I would give it a thousand stars if I could.
Lovely and cozy restaurant. The staff was very attentive but not too attentive - even allowed us to finish our glass of wine even though they were officially closed - without even a sigh. We had the cioppino and the duck, which were both very good though the cioppino perhaps just one shade too spicy. Otherwise wine list is fun and we just really loved how intimate the place was. Great place to go if you want a relaxing meal without a lot of noise.
This was more than just a cafe, it was a romantic small restaurant that celebrates love in such a wonderful way. My fiancée and I celebrated I 5 year anniversary there and we felt all the love that previously existed in the restaurant by other couples. Such a great experience, see you guys again!
Wonderful food. The restaurant is personal and quiet. Loved the salmon and the wine. My wife is a huge fan of the lobster mac and cheese.
Great meal in a wonderful atmosphere. Good wine selection. We will go back!
First visit enjoyed the entire experience. Excellent service, high quality food and great location. We will definitely be back.
International woman’s day
Made reservation for 6 then another 5 on the trip decided to join us at the last minute. Our waitress handled it with grace and humor and efficiency. Got it handled without problems, and the food came quickly and was just great. Group had a wonderful experience!
We have always had great experiences at Over the Moon, and this last was one of the best. We went on our anniversary, and when the wait staff found out they went out of their way to help us celebrate. We decided to share a dessert, and it came on a long platter with "happy anniversary" written on it in chocolate. That was just the final touch on a great evening. The food was outstanding, the room was quiet enough for us to actually have a conversation, and the service struck the perfect balance between being attentive to where we were in the meal and what we needed, on the one hand, and leaving us alone to talk on the other. We will be back, many times we hope.
This restaurant is so wonderful! It is perfect every time!
I love Over the Moon Café. They have great food, a quaint atmosphere, and wonderful service. I would recommend it to anyone.
We had an enchanting evening at Over the Moon and the service was exceptional
Nice environment. Good service. The food just wasn't that good. All four items we ordered were just missing something and not quite right. Maybe it was just a bad night in the kitchen but we expected better. Would not return.
Everything great . Food, service and atmosphere was amazing! The cream spinach was fantastic.
A wonderful dinner with a friend before theater. It was perfect!
This has become our regular place whenever we have theater ticket. Great food, great surroundings and wonderful service.
It was perfect. Food was so delicious and fresh. Cooked perfectly wine pairing suggestion was dead on. Service was attentive but not over bearing. Very clean. Very cute. Very personal. Cozy. Great evening.
I've been thinking about trying this place for a little over a year now and it did not disappoint in any way. The food, the service, the ambiance was absolutely perfect. I will be back very soon!
The food was fantastic and the service was great. I enjoyed the evening immensely. The short rib ragu was out of this world tasty!
Food was delicious, great service
Portions were a little on the small
Side for the price. Overall great dining
The food was delicious. I would go back just for soup and dessert, but the dinners were amazing as well.
Had read great reviews but this was out first time at Over the Moon. Deceiving from the outside as when you step in, you feel you’re in a different era.
Great ambiance, delicious food. Favs were the beet salad, short rib rigatoni, sage chicken. Each more delicious then the other. Nice crunchy bread and delicious desserts.
We’ll definitely return.
We consider this the finest dining experience in Tacoma. The food is always outstanding the service is exemplary, and the experience never disappoints. The menu, well rather limited, offers a variety of fresh and Locally sourced food. I had the Shrimp linguine, which had a very light and creamy sauce. My husband enjoyed the salmon , Which was perfectly cooked beautifully prepared. They do need reservations because the restaurant is rather small, and it fills up quickly. I highly recommend this for a date special occasion or small party
This was such a nice experience. We will definitely be having dinner there again. Everything was perfect. The food was incredible. Soft music played in the background to enhance the ambiance.
Loved it, nice and peaceful with wonderful food. It was exactly the place I hoped to find.
My favorite place Deanba you do a great job. Just think of all the business deals that go down in your place.
An oasis of calm and charm on a blustery day in Tacoma. I can’t wait to try it for a romantic dinner out.
I like the setting of the place-unique,different from where we ever experienced. But the waiting area was kinda ood it was by restroom. We stood by reception quite a long time til hostess came to greet us.And the food was so so salty...everything we ordered was salty. We took couple bits of spinach cream then we just gave it up.The rest of other dishes we tried make it because of how pricey it was.We are from the east we don't know if northwest food usually salty. We went there to celebrated out late Valentine's Day weekend and we had gift certificate. My husband said if we didnt have gift certificate he would be more unhappy since we both wasn't satisfied with the foods at all and and waiting area was odd like i mentioned earlier. It's not the kind of place we would go back or recommend to our friend for sure.
If you want a quante little place to have an intimate dinner. This is your spot. Food was exceptional a little pricey, but if you want a great dining experience, with food you just can't get any where. Well you pay for the experience of it all. My honey loved his duck. I loved my steak. If your a vegetarian there vegetables are to die for. Places always over cook they were delicious here. Definitely make a reservation. Full house.
Unbelievable food and service. One of the best restaurants in the Tacoma area. Top Shelf highly recommend.
Chef owner is amazing. Wonderful food, great menu!!
Romantic, accessible, and delicious! Went for our first visit at lunch and will return for dinner next time we're in Tacoma!
It was an amazing place to celebrate our anniversary. Food was great, atmosphere was very unique and relaxing. We would love to go there again
So delicious and comfy its my faveorite place the food is amazing the people are friendly and nice its my number one go to for lunch or diner
A staple of ours for date night, this place is always a wonderful experience! The space isn’t very big, it’s really best for 2 people but can host parties of 4 or more if you make special arrangements. The food here is always top notch. This time around I tried the duck, the meat was tender and juicy. I paired it with a nice full-bodied glass of Pinot Noir. My boyfriend tried the lobster Mac & Cheese, it had depths of flavor and was pretty rich. For dessert, we tried the turtle pie. It was a generous piece, best shared. The flavor again was wonderfully thought out with a combination of rich chocolate, chewy caramel and crunchy pecan. The ambiance is a combination of Ratatouille (the movie) and playing tea as a child in an upstairs attic. There are boxes at most tables that hold notes written by previous diners - most are love notes. A lot of them are really beautifully written. Our table had one and two books to peruse - these can make fun conversation starters. Altogether, it was another very lovely experience! 😊
We absolutely LOVE this restaurant! It is such great food & service every time we go!
The crab bisque is TO DIE FOR! Best we’ve ever had! And their food is fresh & homemade...even their desserts! If you have not gone, make a reservation now! Always 5+stars!!!
Had the Lobster Mac and Cheese. Was amazing. My wife had the Pork Bolognese and that was really good too. Great service.
