What Insiders Are Saying
One of the original rooftop bars in DTLA, Perch has a French-leaning menu and views for days. Put it on your list for your next downtown date.
My guy and I experienced Perch for the first time together on Sunday. We had an amazing time. The atmosphere and vibe were exactly what we hoped for. The service was top notch. Everyone was pleasant and attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and it was filling. Can't wait to return.
Super friendly staff. Food and drinks were amazing and the views were great!
Love this spot. The view is incredible. Our server was awesome. Fun, attentive and good! I wish music started earlier though (they were just starting as we left)...and a little more "hip"?! Also, would be nice if tables weren't SO close to each other. Would not let that keep me from ever going! One of my fave spots. 😎
We stumbled upon Perch via Google Maps, looking for a nice and affordable spot to have Sunday breakfast downtown and were pleasantly surprised to discover this gorgeous, well-run gem in the sky! We loved it so much, we came back that night to meet friends for drinks and again, Perch delivered a perfect experience. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Perch was great! Good food, good music and good service. Obviously a popular location so a lot of standing around. Definitely would make a reservation before going. Overall it was a great experience.
This place does not honor their reservations. We made a reservation for 7:30, checked in an hour early, and 30 mins after our reservation time, came and went, we decided to leave. I still had to pay $9.00 for parking for nothing.
If you want to wait a long time to get seated then go ahead and dine here. The food was very tasteful, the view and location was very nice. However, I made a reservation for me and my girlfriend at 7:15 pm for two people on a Saturday night, and I didn't get seated until 8:10 pm. Not only this but 2 other couples had reservations at 7:30 pm and they had us all waiting. One couple gave up and left at about 8:00 pm. We still enjoyed the delicious food, relaxing music, and scenery on top of Los Angeles but we did not appreciate waiting so long to get seated.
Amazing views, amazing night out.
We love coming to Perch. It’s always awesome! This time we were a little cold but other than that everything was perfect!
I went to Perch with some friends for the first time. Rooftoop is great with a very nice view. Food is ok.Cheese and salumi very taste. However drinks are terrible. We tried 3 different cocktails and they were awful. Espresso coffee is also vey bad. The service is so so. We were served by a nice lady first while the second one was not caring about anything. In summary you can go for the rooftop experience but bettere grab a beer. If you go for food it’s fine.
The location, food, service was top notch. My only complaint is that one of the employees displayed a very poor attitude toward the couple sitting next to us. No excuse for being verbally abusive and a total jerk. Our server Basilia was the BEST though!!!! As was the hostess who, without our asking, moved us to a table with a great view.
French toast was amazing and service exceeded our expectations!!!
Beautiful experience . Food delicious and planning to come back
Overall I had a great experience. I did however note on the open table reservation, and with the receptionist when confirming my reservation that it was for a birthday. They confirmed when you order a dessert a candle will be added to it, so we ordered a dessert and no candle was added. Just a little bummed, but otherwise everything else was great. The special of the day for brunch was a Short rib hash and it was SO GOOD. Best brunch item I've had there.
We had a wonderful time and the food was great, the music was nice and the drinks were right on time
Sexy sophisticated ambience and the music was awesome! I recommend sitting on the rooftop to eat and enjoy sips. Menu had a great selection and the service was good!
Really nice place to eat not much variety if you don’t eat meat. Lucky I’m a pescatarian and there was a couple choices. Also the table are way too close to each other I know they have to fit as many tables but man you can’t talk on personal level, and your stuck hearing people’s conversation that only use their outside voice
The ambience is just terrific, with an incredible view of the downtown skyline. Food was excellent, very unique, refreshing and flavorful dishes.
Fantastic location, great oysters, excellent service
I had a really good time at this place. The food was good the atmosphere was nice the only bad thing when your done eating your server just leaves . But the person in charge around their went above and beyond and give us a blank it was cold and put us next to the Cozy fireplace which was really nice romantic since it was my wife's birthday overall good experience will definitely go back.
Went out for my gfs birthday, outstanding food, the waitress was amazing. Had an amazing time.
overall very happy except for our table. those couch seats are not for people dining . it was a bit difficult to sit there and eat. it would be nice for people just having drinks.
We sat outside on the patio. Fantastic view. Ribeye special was fantastic. Salads so fresh with wonderful dressing. We loved every bite. Service was excellent. Just a special spot. Will go back if in downtown LA again.
Magical setting. Enthusiastic and friendly staff. Speedy service. Delicious food. Generous portions. With classy live music pitched at the right volume and mood. It was the perfect night out at a restaurant that went out of its way to impress, but without any attitude or ego. A+++
The view and atmosphere were amazing. Love the bartenders. Had a great time, thanks guys!!! The food however needs work. Had to ask for salt on the pork belly. Still had a fantastic time. Would definitely recommend.
Great view but food wasn't impressive. Could be better with live music
Excellent, we got engaged during our visit. Would definitely reccomend to others.
Reservation at this place went well .. as soon as we arrived , our table is ready 😀.. excellent food 😀
Beautiful views, delicious food and drinks! Music playing from rooftop lounge was nice as well. Definitely will be back!
The drinks were great. The food was good. We had the ahi tuna (5), fromage since we had two types of goat cheese, we barely touched it. Gouda is the best and we only had two thin slices of it. The creme brulee was not the best and the spice was too strong for me, so thats 3 stars. The service was a bit lacking though we saw the manager more often than usual. The view was nice. The rooftop bar oddly enough was too warm and stuffy due to the amount of people. There were not enough seats. Overall, it was good experience.
Just for the experience. I found the food ok for the price. The service was extremely slow. I’ve gone once and don’t plan on returning. The need to rethink their floor plan because bodies are everywhere blocking paths to restrooms, elevators, patio seating, and exits.
My wife and I had not been out on a date in months between children schedule conflicts it just seemed to never work out. March 16th was finally a date set aside for me to take my wife to a wonderful lunch with great food. Upon our arrival we were graciously greeted by a female who asked us how we were and if we would like any drinks. We ordered drinks and moments after that a male waiter arrived and took our order. My wife and I noticed our experience at the establishment not going well when our waiter began asking several customers around us multiple times if they were ok or needed anything, but did not ask us. My wife and I brushed it off the first two times we were ignored and after while we noticed he constantly asked the couple sitting next to us if they were ok the waiter even asked the group sitting behind us if they needed anything. I don't know if it was because the couple next to us were older an white an the group behind us had all females, but we felt ignored and singled out. My wife and I sat and ate our food trying to figure out why we were not good enough to be asked multiple times as everyonelse was if we needed anything. The waiter eventually came an asked twice as we were nearly done if we needed anything. The food the view and ambiance was amazing. I would just say for future reference to tell that waiter specifically an staff to make everyone feel appreciated an attended to especially if we are spending our hard earned money to enjoy the service. Thank you for inquiring about our time at your establishment
Understand. This place appeals for the rooftop vibe and ambiance that I get. However on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 1145, I came here with my wife for brunch and Perch was okay for a rooftop dining experience. What falls short was the food was really bland, expected and nothing to really talk about giving the food was just so so. I really had expectations and Perch did not do it. Another issue was the valet parking. At $13.00 for valet, I waited 45 minutes to get my car. The excuse was its DTLA and traffic was bad. Not a whole a lot of confidence in Perch's valet service. But hey Perch work on updating your menu please. I mean really do. Just a thought!
Lovely lovely environment overall, with a beautiful view of the city
Always a great time when I come here. The view, the people, and the food are great.
I really liked Perch the overall ambiance was great with a life band that played 1920s music also our waitress London was great! on the other hand we ordered lychee martinis and they didn't have then we ordered a house cocktail which tasted like lemonade and my bfd had a pear martini which was bitter instead of sweet we ended up ordering champagne to be safe. Its not a cocktail bar that's for sure. As for the food my bfds food was great he ordered the octopus and the tuna. I wanted the mushroom risotto but its not GF and also their dedicated GF frier was down so i couldn't have those as well. I ended up having a 21$ plate of veggies it was good but boring. They should have better GF and veggie options.
The wait is finally over! My wife and I have wanted to try The Perch LA for a long time now and at long last, we were successful. After a short ride up the elevator, we noticed an amazing city view. We sat under the stars and moon and had a wonderful dinner with a live jazz group included. I wanted to try everything on the menu, but settled for filet mignon, which was magnificent. Wonderful!! Service was great as well and plenty of security around the building. I would recommend making reservations for dinner, but maybe you won't need them if you plan to go up to the rooftop bar. Have fun!
The band playing that night was absolutely amazing!
It was beautiful night and
the food was surprisingly delicious. I half assumed the restaurants popularity was based on its views as there are lovely cityscapes from the 15th floor but the food was equally as good as the evening skyline!
Beautiful view with Amazing food! It was a cold but I was happy when they gave us blankets!
