                            The restaurant was closed for refurbishment (which we weren’t told beforehand) and so we were put in a soulless function suite. Food was fine but at £27 a main course it was about £10 overpriced. Menu has been changed and cheapened. Service was good but not good value for food and ambience.

                            The restaurant is being refurbished so it’s moved to a suite offering only a limited menu, food overly salty and expensive, no atmosphere in the place at all and we weren’t the only ones who didn’t look impressed. Toilets were disgusting as well.

                            I dined here with my gran on 1st and 2nd of April. The food was outstanding as was the service! Looking forward to returning after the refurbishment

                            Poor welcome Had to ask for menus Extremely limited menu Had to ask for drinks Long wait despite lots of staff and very few customers Sandwich- low standard of side salad, bread slightly stale, salmon had started to harden up. Long wait Ridiculously over priced

                            Great restaurant- service very good. Starter and main fantastic- amazing value for money Wine and cocktails superb Little disappointed with the deserts didn’t match up to expectations and standard of other food- we had sticky toffee and Apple crumble tart- both needed to be warmer and more flavour.

                            Welcomed nicely, received food and accommodation of preferences. Change over of staff meant we were forgotten about and had to find someone twice for butter and coffees. Cream for the scones was rancid. Staff were nice and apologetic and knocked items off the bill. Shame about small let downs for a special 70th treat.

                            Lovely restaurant in an excellent hotel with fabulous service. Sadly, dinner was rather disappointing. A small, rolling menu still enabled us to choose dishes that met our taste. The starter of smoked salmon, creme fresh & pickled beetroot appealed: the salmon was delicious but three tiny discs of beetroot wasn't enough to impact the dish. My next choice was fish pie served with a small selection of green vegetables. Vegetables were tasty but the fish pie lacked any outstanding flavour: white fish & salmon dominated but the dish was rather unremarkable. With the name, 'Nick Nairn', perhaps I'm being over-critical, but I did expect a better experience.
