About this restaurant

  • Great for scenic views
  • Charming
  • Great for craft beers
Located within the historic grounds of the Guinness Storehouse, 1837 Bar & Brasserie celebrates the best of Ireland. Named after the year Guinness and oysters were named as the perfect match.

With great views of Dublin city and a menu of classics - smoked salmon, oysters and a rather famous Guinness burger - along with likes of flatbreads, sharing plates and a Guinness chocolate mousse that playfully resembles a glass of the black stuff.

All dishes are designed by our award winning chef Sean Hunter, to be enjoyed with the range of Guinness beers on offer along with a full drinks list.

The Guinness Storehouse restaurants are open to the public without an experience ticket. We ask that restaurant visitors pre-book their table whenever possible. Walk up visitors to our restaurant will be admitted subject to availability. Please be aware restaurant access does not give you Guinness Storehouse Visitor Experience, but you can buy a ticket on arrival at admissions.

What a great way to spend an afternoon at the Guinness Storehouse. 1230 self guided tour, 1400 Connoisseur Exoerience, 1530 Dinner at 1837, then hit the gift shop! Don’t miss the Guinness Old Fashioned, 1837 is the only place to get it.

I had the steak sandwich and it was very good. We were fortunate to have a noon reservation and got a window seat. The view and food were both good.

Restaurant closes at 6 but took our 530 reservation and then rushed us through ordering. Our waiter was never to be seen again. We flagged down another server who was absolutely fantastic and redeeming. The fish was good and fresh and the lobster bisque was OK. So many great restaurants in Ireland so it was a bit disappointing and probably overpriced. We grabbed a beer at the top and had beautiful views of the city, which was a wonderful way to end the evening. all of the servers encountered and it’s definitely worth a visit to the bustling, boisterous, Guinness storehouse!
