Capitol Cider is now a stir. We offer Northwest cuisine with Northern Mediterranean influences - think Spanish, French, Italian, Greek and Turkish. In addition to our entirely gluten-free and nut-free kitchen (by Executive Chef Ton Yazici and Sous Chef Ben Jones), we offer local Washington wines as well as a selection of Mediterranean wines (curated by winemaker Rich Burton), plus our usual over 170 ciders and beer and full bar, as always led by our cider and bar master, Jon Chambers.

Main dining room is all ages with seating for 65 people. Our downstairs bar/event space is 21+only.

    The menu and food was delightful. The Flank steak and the butternut squash soup were particularly yummy along with the pear salad and the drunken shrimp. Read the descriptions carefully as they are very specific, we assumed lettuce would be in one of the salads, but there wasn’t a green in sight nor was one listed on the menu. My only complaint is that if you order a flight or a drink and you don’t like it, they are not accommodating. Usually a restaurant

    I'm a long time customer who LOVES the new ownership! I had been disappointed with Capitol Cider for a long time and had stopped going altogether. When I heard about the change to "A Stir" I decided to give the place another try. So glad I did! There was more/better flavor to the dishes we tried. The drinks were better. The waitstaff was friendlier and SO helpful with questions about allergies. We miss the paintings and natural wood of the booths but that's small potatoes compared to all the improvements. We will be back soon!

    The food was overall good but when we ordered the steak well done, it came as medium well. Risotto was a bit dry but taste was good. Portions are quite small. Our waitress was so in rush and pushing us to pay the bill fast and we realized next day the bill was overcharged. We are still waiting for a refund.

    As someone with celiac, it is very difficult to eat out. There are only a couple of places that I trust and this is one of them. Great food and service!

    We had an early table - so it was understandably quiet but also chilly in the restaurant. The pro’s - as a celiac, eating in a GF restaurant that serves pub fare with loads of cider options was fabulous! Fries were 10/10 amazing. The meh’s - fish and chips fish batter wasn’t great. Lacked flavour and was gummy inside although nice and crispy outside. Good for a casual bite but I wouldn’t rush back for a meal. A snack and cider though, definitely!

    This is similar to Capitol Cider but for half the amount of food! The dishes are delicious but such small in portions now and not worth the cost! So disappointed as I used to love Capitol Cider but will not be coming here often due to portion size and price. Not worth it! Also there is zero decor now.

    Deceptive pricing. Server said different sides could be ordered, not disclosing that a tiny side salad would cost $9 more than fries with a burger. Food overall was expensive. Also we really do know what a QR code is, despite being over 50–TWICE we have been asked in a patronizing way by waitstaff if we are familiar with QR codes! I have celiac and really want to like it here, but I won’t be back soon.

    It was so great! I totally thought it was a dive bar (I didn't really look at the photos on the google reviews) but I was pleasantly surprised. It was a romantically lit (think candles, dim lighting but not so dim that it's hard to see across the table), really clean, almost upscale place. The waiters and waitresses were AMAZING, I think I threw them a curveball by asking for a fruity, sweet iced cocktail but they delivered wonderfully. I can't wait to go again!

    Went here last night to celebrate our wedding anniversary, my husband is gluten intolerant, so I picked this place so he wouldnt have limitations on what he can or cannot eat. Walking in, the space is beautiful, romantic, cozy and we were immediately greeted by one of the friendly staff members. We had a reservation and were seated within a few minutes. We started off with the cheese curds (so delicious, the apple butter was fire) and drinks. I don’t drink and they made me a fabulous virgin apple cider cocktail and my husband had a couple of their signature cocktails which he loved. We shared the fish and chips and wild mushroom risotto and it was incredible! We finished our meal with the chocolate mousse and it was also delicious! One of the best meals we have ever eaten. I have nothing but gratitude for the whole friendly and kind team for making our anniversary such an amazing experience. 10/10 recommend! We will be back soon!

    As fans of Capitol Cider and want to be fans of a stir: unfortunately, our food (particularly the french fries) were way too salty and the grilled cheese/chicken sandwiches were served on the smallest pieces of bread any of us at the table had ever seen. We don't know if we would return despite having many friends/family that only eat gluten free and loving the cider selection.

    Dedicated GF kitchen is the main draw here. Recent renovations drastically changed the decor/ ambiance which is the only reason my review is lower than would be pre reno. Formerly Pub decor/cozy vibe is now cold and no personality. Metal tables are clanky, almost no art work on walls and overall feel is cold and stark. Menu is mostly same but presentation is fancier. Lost all its charm atmosphere. Fully GF kitchen is hard to come by in Seattle so I'll be back but I miss the old vibe.

    Enjoyed the food and the space was lovely, but service was a bit passive, especially since we were one of only a few tables in there. We had to ask for basics like drink menus and more water. Music was really loud and made conversation a bit challenging.

    Me and a friend arrived around 6pm on a Tuesday. There were some tables open in the dining room, but we were told by the hostess that they were for reservations only. She offered us the bar but told us we would have to ask someone to move so we could sit together. That was awkward and we told her we were not comfortable bothering another patron. She said we could sit outside. We sat down and my friend was cold, so I went online and grabbed a reservation for 6:15pm and we walked back in with a reservation, and we got a two top table. The food was good and as a celiac, being in a completely gf restaurant is such a treat. The calamari was delicious, but the shrimp pasta was just ok.

    We were having a lovely dinner until the hostess came over and stared there was another reservation waiting for our table. We said we understand and started to finish our drinks and gather our things. She rudely said “well your drinks are finished and your tab is paid” which was totally uncalled for as we were already leaving. Great food, but terrible customer service.

    Food was outstanding, a nice treat to have a glute-free dinner that really felt like going out to dinner, to have an experience. Nicely cultivated Cider list as well. Will definitely be back!!

    Great meal at capital cider! This is a great neighborhood spot. Very comfortable. Everyone who worked there was so welcoming and nice. Food was great and they were very accommodating of food allergies.

    We sat in the outside seating on the curb, so there was some traffic noise. The food was delish from a beautiful green gazpacho, a hardy chili, cod chowder, through flash fried Brussels sprouts with bacon, to triple decker burgers that challenged our capacity. Everything was flavorful and cooked to order. All accompanied by a great selection of cocktails, wine, beer, and ciders.

    The gluten free concept—5 stars. It was downhill from there. Party of 4, no one especially liked their meal. Drink specialty was truly awful. Great vibe. Fun decor. I don’t know if it was the chef’s night off but the food was barely okay. If you’re GF you’re still grateful for safe dining. It was the other 3 people I felt bad for having to eat there.

    I was happy that I could reserve an outdoor table, but the space was very small. The ambience outside isn't great because the restaurant is on a major street corner. However the food and drinks were top quality (especially the calamari) and our server was attentive and nice.

    I have been to this establishment several times in the past. This was my first visit since COVID and it is not the same level of service at all. 1) I made a reservation for an outside table, and they gave it away to someone else, so they sat us inside. Not a big deal. 2) However, the temperature inside was at least 90º, there was no moving air, and apparently no way to ventilate the dining room. 3) When a table opened up, we were moved outside where we were ignored for the remainder of our meal. 4) My $45 New York Strip was served on top of some bland broccoli and potatoes. Severely underwhelming. 5) Ahh...and then there's the ambiance of Capitol Hill. We had people: stop and eat leftover food on adjacent tables; ask us for money & cigarettes; and there was the un-housed gentleman who stopped to ogle my wife and friend for an uncomfortable amount of time. Will not be returning.

    We loved our service and the food. The paintings come from a local art school. The waitstaff knew the cider list well and gave a great recommendation. I haven’t been since before the pandemic and it’s as good as I remember.
