   We booked the afternoon tea for 3pm and they didn't seem to know about it. We were the only people having it, it didnt seem a common request. Champagne and tea arrived at the same time. The food took over 45 minutes to arrive. Once we finished, our sausage rolls arrived. The food was fine, nothing special or nicer than you could have made at home or picked up from the supermarket

   They were not prepared for us, we were shown to a table that was laid out for 3 for lunch. There was no menu or list of teas available. The sandwiches were dry. The staff did their best but overall the experience was very disappointing.

   I had high expectations for the Hilton as I had booked afternoon tea for my friend’s birthday. I asked for one vegetarian afternoon tea when I booked the table and then was asked to confirm twice on the day that I did indeed want one of the afternoon teas to be vegetarian. Sadly, when it arrived, we were told everything on the stands was vegetarian (even though I wanted meat sandwiches) but even worse was the fact that my friend, who is the vegetarian then picked up a sandwich that we were told was egg, and it turned out to be chicken!! The staff were very apologetic, but my friend’s birthday treat was ruined by the fact she’d just swallowed a bite of a chicken sandwich despite my best efforts to ensure she only had vegetarian options. I was disappointed to say the least, and probably won’t be returning.

   The Hilton is always a calm refuge from a day’s shopping. This visit was no exception. However, this time the afternoon tea was disappointing. The scones had been microwaved making them very chewy and then hard. The cakes were not as good as in previous visits and lack of choices meant double ups on the profiteroles which were going stale. We know we have had better there and elsewhere.

    Afternoon tea was very nice. Wide variety of teas available and food delicious but on a personal note would prefer more savoury than sweet as a lot of cakes to eat. Staff excellent and always attentive, very well presented and always happy to help. A good experience, and good value for money.

    Disappointment. My daughter’s 18th birthday was on the same day with father’s day. Every good place was full in the town. As we did not want to eat, I booked a table at Hilton Cambridge lounge. Kids arrived first, I arrived later. First I was suprised, that in a pretty much empty large area they were seated in the darkest, farest corner. My younger daughter ordered an orange juice and got Capri Sun in the original pouch, they did not even bother to pour out to the glass. My older daughter doesn’t drink alcohol, it was such a shock, that Hilton does not have alcohol-free coctail on the menu in the lounge. We paid full price for an “alcohol free mohito”. Later we ordered a caffe and got it without spoon or sugar. The family next to us asked for the manager complaining about something, but I did not want to ruir our day.

    We had friends over and wanted them to experience a traditional British Afternoon Tea. We found the offer for Hilton's Afternoon Tea, while we past the hotel the day before. The booking of the table was simple. We arrived 15 minutes prior our scheduled time but we were seated immediately. Our friends eat Halal which we forgot to book, in advance. However, the chef came to our table, introduced himself and asked for their wishes as an alternative. The extraordinarily friendly waitress brought our teas straight away; the Afternoon Tea snacks came a couple of minutes afterwards. The food was amazing!!! Especially tasty were the scones. They were served warm with the clotted cream and jam (just like in the traditional Afternoon Tea). The price, which is already quite cheap, included the traditional Afternoon Tea and two servings of tea per person. Overall, we were very pleased and totally recommend going to the Hilton Hotel in Cambridge for a traditional, affordable Afternoon Tea with Halal alternatives and a great service!!

    Worst place ever. Pretending to serve a carpaccio when it’s cured meat (wt***), served me a sirloin instead of ribeye, the lobester was 10x too cooked. The chef should be ashamed of serving food like this.

    Very nice staff really helpful. asked if we wanted to sit on soft chairs or up at the table. We went for table so she said she would set it up and let us know when ready

    Friendly service allowing me to seat and dine despite mine arriving earlier than planned. Very quite ambiance, very peaceful after an afternoon of busy shopping.

    The Food turned up over cooked and cold. All 3 dinners were sent back to the kitchen, and we received a nice plate of food back. We had some free drinks to say sorry, but i wouldn't come back again
