   Nice environment and helpful friendly service. This was a mothers day treat and worked well both for afternoon tea and coctails. Only slightnegative was that its not easy to parknearby.

   Super poor experience at Parkers Tavern, the service was absolutely terrible - complete rip off. We didn’t receive multiple items we ordered, the table next to us didn’t either and the next table along asked for a refund. Super bad vibes! I’ve made a written complaint but I don’t think I’ll be getting a response.

   we was here for my birthday, met by nice smiley staff. It would have been nice to be shown choice of hot beverages rather then have to ask what is available. Scones are nice especially wholemeal ones but if you have delicate teeth these would be slightly too hard. The fresh mint tea was splendid as were the Winnie the Pooh cakes. We were mistaken thinking you got chocolate honeycomb to take home, instead we took home what we could not finish. The ambience of the whole place was superb. All staff very friendly.

   Was really nice. However I would mention it would be more considerate for staff to plan and think about the seating with the booking times. An empty room and all 4 bookings that were there at the same time were all placed in one side making it rather noisy and distracting. Almost running a romantic Anniversary.

    Friendly staff, nice afternoon tea, although table was a little small for four people. Would have preferred proper tea (rather than teabags). Pleasant, relaxed environment and it was nice not to be rushed.

    Tom and I enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea after receiving several recommendations for The University Arms. The staff were efficient, polite and professional. The food was lovely, arrived quickly and was as requested.

    Recommend 10 out of 10 especially in the library area 🥰 I found most of deserts too sweet but I am pregnant and my sugar sensitivity is higher than usual. Everyone enjoyed it overall.

    Firstly the staff are always so attentive and polite. It really does make such a difference. Only negatives were that the white bread was stale and not enough food was brought out initially. Bearing in mind you are paying £40 each plus tip for afternoon tea and you get 3 miniature sandwiches each with equate to less than 2 whole slices of bread so have to instantly ask for more. We then had to wait another 20 minutes for these and the initial wait for quite long too. Bearing in mind we were the first ones there so work load you would think want the issue. Bless the staff it did seem like when it did get busy there was only two people we could see serving. The building, cleanliness and overall atmosphere is as ever excellent and my favourite place to go and have been coming for years. Just a couple of things that let it down. On tiger occasions we have also experienced very slow service but again staff were great

    Lovely setting but could have done with a slightly bigger table as excess bits had to be put on the floor! Really lovely afternoon tea if a little over priced. What lets this down is the 13% gratuity charge where the service was poor, we had to repeatedly track down and ask the staff member for more tea, extra jam, the bill etc which makes the non optional gratuity charge a bit much, I have no problem tipping good service but when the service is lacking then it doesn’t sit well! This seems to be a common theme in reviews which is a shame as it took the edge of a lovely Birthday treat. I would recommend but with a warning about the service!

    The food was amazing though we had to often get the staff's attention to serve us. We didn't get our take-home gingerbread though which was a shame. We only realised after we left.

    Disappointed to be contacted 3 days before to say the Winnie the Poo Afternoon Tea we had booked was no longer being served and was being replaced with the Festive Afternoon Tea. Was not offered water, even though glasses on the table. Likewise was not offered choice of tea. The service was extremely slow, people arriving after us being served before us. However, the food was very nice.

    Tea at Parker’s Tavern was excellent. We had cosy seats, cushions and privacy. On arrival at the hotel we were welcomed, our coats taken and shown to our seats. All with a smile. Tea and the delicious food were brought and explained and it was all lovely with a hint of Christmas decoration on the cakes. Our waitress was delightful and helpful. It was a wonderful experience and a memorable pre birthday treat.

    Overall very good Afternoon Tea. But not happy with being told a day before our booking that our Afternoon tea was now a Festive afternoon tea and we would be charged more per person. We booked in August and told the price at that time so therefore feel it should have been a token of your good will.

    Took my mum out with my brother and sister for afternoon tea. The room was beautiful and the atmosphere really good. Comfortable seating and plenty of soace around us with good views over Parker’s piece. Found ourselves waiting a long time for recognition and longer for things to arrive which was a bit of a downside. However when we were served everyone was very friendly and professional so no complaints there. Afternoon tea was lovely. Everything very well made and great presentation. We were all happy though two scones is definitely too much!! Finally we did scoff at the price a little as at £40 a head, plus service the total was quite surprising. It felt like a price I would expect for a main meal for four rather than afternoon tea. I would happily go again but possibly just for a drink with a snack to enjoy the view and the room.

    Great old place. The price level was steep though. The food was okeyish, not that impressive. Biggest disappointment was that when booking via OpenTable we got a small table in the dining room. I would have preferred a table in the cosy tea room, living room with sofas, comfy big chairs and an open fire vibe.

    The vegetarian menu for our afternoon tea was nowhere to be seen. On arrival our sandwiches seemed hastily made and somewhat stale. We complained to the waitress who kindly offered us an extra item from the small bites menu which was appreciated but we will likely not be coming back.

    Overall we felt underwhelm with afternoon tea at Parkers Tavern. The room felt more like a library than a cosy afternoon tea room. It was very quiet that all the other tables were whispering! There were a few people working on their computers. Food, I was looking forward to something different than sandwiches that I can make at home, although the carrot cake was lovely.

    Unfortunately we arrived late but this didn't seem to be a problem. We were shown our table and very soon had a pot of tea and a bottle of water. The food quickly arrived and looked great. It all tasted great too. A very enjoyable afternoon tea

    Was excited to be given a Gift Voucher for afternoon tea. Lovely decor and location, but I was a bit disappointed by the experience overall. I found the ‘comfy’ seating in the Library difficult to sit in, the service was a bit ‘relaxed’ and the background music (hits of the 80s?) a bit odd given the setting (classical music, surely?). Sandwiches were rather bland and the cakes overbearingly sweet - although the crayfish boats and carrot cake were the exceptions, and the scones were good too.

    Nice food, especially the scones which were still warm which was a real treat! Unfortunately the wait staff barely came into the room so we struggled to get refills of tea. It took a long time for our post food coffee to arrive after ordering and even longer to flag down someone for the bill. This did make the afternoon tea feel overpriced.
