Ahi Sushi Miami
Opened in 8/18/18, Ahi Sushi Bar is an authentic Omakase style Japanese experience. Omakase is the Japanese tradition of letting the chef choose your order. Omakase or “I leave it to you,” includes fresh fish, seasonal vegetables and ingredients.
Ahi Sushi will also serve fresh sushi, sashimi and traditional poke bowls for lunch.
Seatings for Omakase dining experience is every hour starting at 6pm.
HIDEN GEM ! The fish was very fresh, and the rice was perfect. The service is excellent, both the waitress and sushi chef were very nice and wanted to make us happy. Tiny but very nice and clean place !
Always a win in my book! I will keep coming back again and again. A splurge!
If you want to have vip experience, this is the place and the food custom made special just for you 👍👍
Business meal Or dating great choice
The sushi is super fresh and delicious. We are always more than satisfied with the food and service at Ahi Sushi. We highly recommend it, especially the omakase, which are dishes selected by the chef, the meal takes 1 1/2 hours to complete, and it consists of about 10 small dishes. It is a little pricy compared to a regular sushi restaurant, but this is no ordinary sushi restaurant, in my opinion. It is well worth it!
We have been to Ahi Sushi 3 times in the last 2 months, twice for omakase and once a la carte. The omakase sessions were superb, with a mix of standard and creative dishes, well prepared and nicely plated, and all of the fish was of excellent quality. At $80/pp for 9 to 10 courses it's not cheap, but is good value, and we eat a lot of Japanese food and I can confidently say you won't find better for less in Miami. The a la carte menu is very basic, so if there's something specific you want, you should ask for it. The chef will happily take requests off-menu if he has the ingredients on hand, and if he doesn't, will suggest an alternative. If just want basic rolls you can get them cheaper elsewhere, although they probably won't be quite as good.
The place is tiny, with 6 seats and 2 more in a pinch. There is one chef and one host/server who have been the same each time we visited. They are personable and good at taking cues, so if you want to eat in silence you can, or vice versa. Lastly, they are BYOB with no corkage fee and it sounds like there are no plans to get a liquor license. We like that because we're happy to bring our own and save the money, but if you forget there are a few different wine/beer/liquor stores nearby on Calle Ocho.
My third time here. Great experience overall. A little disappointed at the price increase from $60 to $80 for omakase and $5 charge for a small bowl of rice.
This place is hands down the best sushi in miami so far. The place is tiny and so quaint it's perfect for a special occasion or a quiet romantic setting. Usually lunch does not serve omakase but we went durring father day weekend and they had it available. OH MY GOD this was amazing. The tuna belly melted in your mouth. The makeral was perfection and the hamachi in plum sauce had me at awe, the layers of flavor were out of this world, just when you though that one piece mouthful had all the flavors you could get. The japanese plum paste just punched your taste buds and brought out the flavor of the fish all over again. perfect place and a little gem in the heart of little Havana.
This was our third visit and we are already planning the next one. This time we brought friends to celebrate my birthday and it was an extraordinary wonderful time had by all! We were all so impressed and I was proud to have chosen such a great spot. Most delicious sushi omakase experience! A definite must!
The experience overall was lovely. Love that it was an intimate setting, can see the meal prep and the courses were beautifully prepared. Service could use a a little work but overall a wonderful omakase experience in Miami.
I hope this remains a hidden gem, because it was one the best sushi experiences I’ve had in Miami. Certainly the freshest and most authentic one. I want to come back for the omakase menu, I was only able to do a la cadre because I didn’t have the 90 mins that the omakase experiences takes.
It's good but it's not a real omakase. Some small details off.
The restaurant and culinary experience was both engaging and entertaining. The fish was remarkably fresh, different, and tasty. An intimate experience for anyone wanting to expand their sushi pallet. Would absolutely go back and recommend to friends and family.
Great experience! Best in Miami!
The best sushi I’ve had in Miami. The fish is very fresh and well prepared. The presentation is also very beautiful. We opted for the tasting menu, and it was out of this world. I highly recommend this place.
A local unassuming spot with the most Amazing omakase experience in little Havana! I was stuffed after the meal. Got to try different types of fresh great quality seafood. This was my 3rd time back and it never disappoints. Great to take someone to impress. Very small space and must reserve in advance.
Omakase dinner was just as phenomenal as last time. I’ve shared a few photos, but wouldn’t to give up more than that. This is a must-do, the experience along with exceptional food and service.
Excellent food and service. Omakase was very reasonable (price wise) and quality of fish was excellent.
Always a good experience. The fish is good quality and fresh. Chef Soo changes menu often so he keeps it interesting. Thank you Chef
Amazing omakase for only $80! I was stuffed. BYOB
Our experience at Ahi Sushi was amazing. Everything was on point- from the food that was extremely fresh to service. The staff and chef were so knowledgeable and fun to be around. Felt like a very personalized experience. Most notably, there was a shellfish allergy in the group and they were extremely accommodating and understanding. 10/10
Everything was excellent
Food was excellent, however we had reservations for 9 pm and were not taken in and sat until about 9:30 or so.
Fantastic place, Chef Brian is amazing and the servers were super friendly
Great Omakase experience in Little Havana! Make sure to reserve your spot.
This place is such a gem - the food was amazing and the service was impeccable. Loved watching the chef prepare our food.
I’ll definitely be back for the chefs tasting menu
We had a wonderful dinner and the Omakase was fantastic! Even comes with beer and or delicious cold sake. Can’t wait to go back. Small and intimate.
It was a 10 course omakase dinner. Best and freshest sushi and sashimi I have had in Miami so far. It’s a great traditional Japanese place that is a rare find in Miami. Would definitely recommend!
The least recommendation Japanese restaurant in Miami. I am Asian who used to live in Japan several months and have lots of experience in eating Japanese food. I have to say this restaurant scared me. They sold below-standard food to the high price, which is $80 per person for dinner. It means you need to pay at least $200 including service fee for an disaster dinner. If you do not know what is traditional Japanese food like, the dinner would be fine because chef made some peculiar seasoning with kinds of peppers and shallot in Sushi and sashimi. However, he forgot the the soul of Japanese cuisine, that is "Maximize and display the delicious ingredients, and do not add too much seasonings and spices as much as possible." Chef said he choice fresh king salmon. I hoped that was joke, otherwise he waste that salmon's life. Every dishes had similar seasoning which made some surprises at beginning but really boring then. The best Japanese restaurant I think is NAOE where provide you with 80% true Japanese cuisine compare to Japanese native. As I say, if you know what Japanese cuisine should like, do not choose this restaurant.このレストランには行かない 別去這家餐廳，又貴又難吃
Great experience and quite far the freshest seafood available.
This place is a great kept secret (for now)! Not in the middle of downtown Miami, the location is great. The restaurant is very very small so be prepared for a room fitting no more than 10 people comfortably (including staff). The tasting menu is WORTH IT and NECESSARY. About 9-10 courses, plenty of food and quality is amazing! Very impressed. Fresh, high quality sushi.
Incredible restaurant. Best sushi I’ve ever had. Very intimate experience. Proud to have this place in miami.
Very fresh sushi. The Omakase was great! Would highly recommend.
Food and service was very good. Not to be chosen for ambiance as it is a simple bar seating only sushi place.
This is a charming little gem on Calle Ocho in the heart of Little Havana. The omakase was excellent.
Wonderful. Simply wonderful.
The omakase was fantastic ! Chef's selection was delicious, and the courses were incredibly generous. Trout belly was phenomenal. And it was all so reasonable. Love the hole in the wall vibe.
The place is tiny, but that adds to the allure and it probably has the freshest fish I’ve ever had in Miami for sushi. Highly recommend this place!
Great Experience Chef Brian Soo was Incredible. The Nigri was extremely fresh and the Sake was amazing!
