Everything was fresh and delicious service was also excellent
Great unique dishes. Good ambiance. I would highly recommend it! Try the lamb special
Menu eclectic as always. Everything was good but they struggled to get food to the table. They always say it comes to the table as it’s ready, but multiple orders of the same dish came at different times, or, in some cases just never arrived and we cancelled the order. And maybe the secret burger need to become a little less secret - it’s never available !
Server is in the wrong business. Maybe too harried, but customers expect some level of people skills by staff. Food was very good.
Delicious, great wine selection. We did the Semolina kind of like licking kale. Everything else was fantastic and our waiter was super helpful and attentive. Would go again to try more!
We often go here w another couple pre theatre as they’re good at getting us out jn time. We were THRILLED to find out they had some new items on the menu, as if doesn’t change often . We had a very bubbly and friendly server . The only hitch was the drinks that seemed to take forever ( this was @ 5:30 not 8:00). But alas we got them. They do have a fun drink section of the menu. The food was delicious!! The only disappointment was they were out of the “ secret burger “ even at 5:30! Yet we couldn’t figure out why we saw some go by well after we were into our dinner.! That was very curious ? But back to the food ... we love the charted broccoli with the squash hummus . Even tried replicating the recipe @ home. We also move the kale salad w creamy pistachio dressing. The kale is fresh and bright and the dressing hits the prefect balance of acidity with sweetness w/ out being cloyingly. New in the menu is roasted yams w/ all sorts of Asian flavors. It was yummy !! We also had Nettle Trotte ( what the heck is that you ask ? Pasta, curly pasta) w fennel butter & rstd onion and more yummies) . Unfortunately I’m not a fan of al debts pasta and it was salty . The last thing we shared was chicken thigh torchon w braised greens, bacon & turnip crema ( why can’t they call it puréed turnips?). Never the less the heat was moist and we all devoured the dish . You think we’d be full but we always have room for dessert so we indulged in a very sweet butterscotch pudding with delicious almond shortbread . Overall we had a delicious meal.
Always a great meal at Alden and Harlow. Came for a birthday celebration, everyone left happy and satisfied!
Great atmosphere and interior design for a Saturday brunch.
My parents and I went for dinner. Service was attentive, professional, and unobtrusive. The food was wonderfully presented and pleasantly surprising without being esoteric for the sake of novelty. And of course, the flavors were well-balanced and nuanced. All in all, a great experience.
Excellent service -- courteous and friendly waitstaff who clearly know their menu and care about their guests. Highly recommend the Fennel pasta, smoked trout and burrata -- the brussel sprouts are a bit oversalted but still well worth it. Excellent cocktails for the most part and desserts as well; I plan to return soon.
Server was Horrible
Amazing! It was delicious, welcoming, and comfortable. Our waitress was attentive and personable. It was an awesome experience!
Delicious food and drinks. Service was great and server gave us birthday treat for the table. Always an enjoyable experience.
Unfortunately this trip to Alden and Harlow was underwhelming, even disappointing. One of the items we ordered, fry bread, was undercooked and essentially raw dough. Thankfully, they took that item off our bill. We also ordered a couple of burgers which had their own issues. Again, thankfully, we were asked of our dietary restrictions and informed our waiter that we don't eat pork. After taking our order, the waiter returned to tell us that the cheddar cheese used on the burger was brushed in pork fat so our options were to forego cheese altogether, or get pecorino instead-- we chose the pecorino. Unfortunately the pecorino did not work on the burgers... way too salty. Also, the burgers were a tad overcooked. All this was a shame because I ordered the burger last time I went to A&H and loved it! (but hadn't been told about the cheese, so ate it unknowlingly)
The porky-cheese thing should probably be an explicit warning on the menu because it is pretty widely known that Alden and Harlow uses Creekstone beef which is HALAL BEEF, making it an attractive option for Muslim restaurant-goers (and I know so many who have eaten this burger, love it, and proselytize about the unusually delicious halal burger) . Halal beef+ pork fat don't really go together so well. I think it would be good to have another melty cheese option, or crisp cheese option as an alternative.
Great food, service, and atmosphere. I would definitely go back.
Everything was amazing! We tried a lot of new things and was so happy we did, we can't wait to come back and try some other stuff. The "secret burger," best burger I've had, apparently you have to go relatively early if you want one, they only make a limited amt! They are worth it!
This spot it small and unassuming from the outside, but inside the decor is modern with a beautiful skylight. The waitress was kind and very attentive. The food was OUTSTANDING. I highly recommend the avocado toast or the burger.
The food and service were both stellar. The meals were creative and delicious, and it was fun that they had smaller, sharable sizes. We had a great time, and I plan to come back here for brunch dates!
Awesome across the board. Inventive an delicious foods. Good and fun vibe. Almost doesn’t feel like you’re in Boston :)
Amazing food and great atmosphere. Would
Great food and great ambiance! Loved it. Had not been in a long time and so glad I returned. It is a little noisy but if that doesn't bother you, it's fun. Lots of small plate options so everyone can taste a lot of delicious food.
The food was delicious! We ordered the cauliflower fritters, the patatas bravas, the charred broccoli, and the lamb belly -- all of which were delicious. Our server came and checked in on us in such a friendly way and also brought us pickled beans to start us off. Absolutely delicious and very unique food in a very hip setting - will be coming again when I want to treat myself!
Terrifically inventive menu, and the service was great-- we had someone in our group who was GF, and each dish, brought by different servers, was announced not only with a description of ingredients but also with affirmation that it was GF.
Food for foodies, tapas style, thoughtful and delicious. We might not have ordered the nettles if we'd googled "trottole" and realized we were getting a pasta dish--and how sad that would have been! It was one of the yummiest things I have eaten in quite a while. Also, it was more substantial per dollar spent than most of the plates, which seemed to us tapas-sized but entree-priced. Wine by the glass was poured with a light hand. For dessert, three choices; we sampled two. Butterscotch custard was lovely, though we could have done without the cute presentation in a jelly jar. Olive oil cake was a bit disappointing. Wait staff was helpful and friendly. All in all, as tourists to husband's alma mater town, we felt we'd visited a happening place.
Great food, drinks & ambiance. One of my favorites in the area. Always enjoy my time here!
Great food and experience overall
It was just great. Really great. I really don't think you can go wrong with any choice!!
Waitress could’ve been friendlier/ more attentive
Delicious and fun food! Warm and inviting staff. Cool and eclectic atmosphere.
We always have a really great time here. Food is always delicious. Our server was relaxed and friendly. We had a good laugh about the soundtrack...straight from our high school days! Made for nostalgic conversation. Amazing Bloody Mary
Fantastic brunch! Beautifully plated and delicious.
Excellent brunch. Wonderful food served like Tapas brunch. Ordered 7 things for 4 people. Avoid the Bloody Mary however. It is off. Unless you are crazy adventurous.
Birthday dinner was amazing
Everything about the restaurant was great. Service, food and ambiance. Secret burger, highly rated one came a little dry but not a huge complain. We rather prefer a little juicy. Highly recommend this place
Hi! I loved the restaurant and the good and they were so accommodating when I had to add colleagues of mine to the reservation. One small complaint - it was FREEZING inside. We were shivering throughout the whole meal. But, every bite was delicious!
Amazing as always, specially the Kale salad and the brussel sprouts
Fantastic place for celebrating special moments! All the recommended plates were spot on.
I am so glad I found this place! This is some of the best small plate/tapa style cuisine I've ever had - and the cocktails are killer. My date and I ended up ordering a diverse range of dishes and we literally could not choose a favorite. The vegetable dishes are cooked and seasoned to perfection, and I could have eaten an entire vat of the black pepper garganelli. The restaurant itself is very cozy, and the ambience is just right - not too loud and crazy, and just intimate enough for a nice date/small group outing. Our server could not have been more perfect - we can't wait to go back!
Very inventive dishes that beg you to order a series of small-plates over one entree. All of them packed with flavor although some dishes can seem somewhat over-worked. Super friendly staff in a sexy setting rounds it all off.
Since Day I , we have been enraptured by the very unique food that Michael Scelfo has created at A and H. After a few-year restn't respite due to surgeries, we were completely overwhelmed yesterday with our brunch.
In the soothing, welcoming front greenhouse room, our corner table of two- was reduced to speechlessness and ethereal murmurs fluttering like butterflies. A Large skillet of SOFT creamy scrambled eggs with truffle cheese melt and chives (i had served on the side the red pepper onion compote), maxed out rich cheesy grits, pickled corn pancakes w/ fruit and maple....these were my chosen euphorics. My Love felt similarly about his moroccan-sausage-like lamb belly hash (not my thing.)
Biscuit was disappointing, mostly in flavor [BISQ's is untoppable; a 20 to AH's 4.]
Can't wait for dinner!
