What Insiders Are Saying
Alimento was one of Silver Lake’s first destination restaurants, and now it’s one of the best restaurants in the city.
Love this place.
Very adorable venue with great service and good food, love the amount of variety on the menu.
One is the type of service we got was not the best been to other places less expensive and better service. Secondly you are been rushed they seat you down and tell you have 1:30 min to eat cause table is booked at nine and we made reservations for 7:30 also the way you order it has to be all at once you can’t order anything as we go. And third as it was approaching nine aclock they took the menus away and said we are getting closer to nine aclock so we will need the table. Food was good I can’t say anything bad about it but service and time thing. Aaa bad I never been to a place with a time schedule that you need to be out by certain time.
We love our favorites on the menu - we dine here 3-4 times a year. Friendly, convivial staff. Never disappointed.
Love this neighborhood restaurant. The food is delicious and the wine list is outstanding!
Amazing. Great food and excellent ambiance
great food in an cozy, intimate, neighborhood location.
Incredible grilled Orato! Chopped salad, tortellini, and ribs were excellent! Service was attentive and prompt, wine recommendation was right on, choc pudding was divine! Would come back in a heartbeat!
The spelt pasta was especially tasty. The wine list was great too.
This is by far the best restaurant in silver lake right now.
Service is top notch and the food is inventive, tasty, and well executed consistently.
Food is eclectic and overpriced. Not much quantity for the money! Service was very nice. But overall value not so good.
Everything was delicious, but we were guided to order too much food.
Exceptionally good service. Food was very good and the overall experience was great.
Great food and service. Have to wait way past reservation time both times I’ve been.
Personable staff, very balanced attentive evening- food both creative and visually stunning and equally delicious...
The eggplant and escolar is incredible. As were the meatballs But I kept wanting more from every other dish. I believe they can get things up to that level
My wife and I were joined by some friends for dinner at Alimento. The food was delicious and came feirly quickly. Our waiter was young, but knowledgeable about all the items we asked about on the menu. Lot's of questions with regards to the names of the dishes listed on the menu (we had to google a lot before our waiter showed up.) Our favorite dishes were the Scallop Crudo, the Octopus, the Chicken Milanese Sandwich and the Agnolotti pasta. The plates were small, but between the 4 of us we ordered 7 dishes and by the time we finished we were all comfortably full. I sat next to the second inner door of the restaurant that leads to the front patio and it was a bit drafty as it was a cold night. I would recommend a table away from the front of the restaurant if its cool out. That being said, I would definitely eat at Alimento again.
Food was amazing service was amazing only thing was we got seated at 15 mins after our resy and saw a lot of other ppl get seated first
Never had a bad dish here. Incredible, always. Beautiful food and lovely service.
Food is great but service is very rushed. We were in and out in 45 min. Felt very rushed
Great food and service. Ambiance is noisy and there are so many rules at this place. When we sat down they said they needed the table back in two hours. Two hours later they never said anything since they took so long to finish service. Water is $1.50 for unlimited sparkling or still water. If you don't drink water they don't charge you.
Place is very noisy and we sat on the benches along the wall which are very uncomfortable.
When the check came there is a line for gratuity for the server as well as the kitchen staff. I just split the tip 50/50.
Food was excellent, as always. Service always attentive and pleasant - great suggestions.
It is very ridiculous to have a policy where you charge 25 dollars a person for changing a reservation. It is something unheard of for any restaurant experience.
Valentine’s Day dinner
The food was very salty. I was thirsty all the time for the rest of the evening.
delicious food and great service! crowded due to the holiday, but we were well accommodated.
The greeter at the door was approachable, nice, respectful and attentive which started the experience GREAT. The server was helpful, extremely nice and knew the menu, that was about all that I would say good about the place. The food was alright, decinitely not worth the price and quantity was not good.
The food was amazing. And our waitress was lovely.
The hostess was a bit rude. Even though we made a reservation for 8pm, the table wasn't ready and we had to wait outside in the cold for 25 minutes. A table became available at 8.05 but was given to a couple who hadn't even booked, we think that they must have been famous or something
Exceeded our expectations. Food, ambiance, service, etc. was perfect!
Cute neighborhood restaurant. Small menu and they were out of a few items on the menu when we dined there.
Visiting family in the area from Toronto. Whole experience was great from start to finish. $5 Valet was a nice surprise to start. The wine list was varied but not ostentatious.
The food was the real star of the show. Get the scallop crudo if it’s on the menu- it was absolutely unreal. I enjoyed seeing the open kitchen while dining as well.
Great place for groups to order a bunch of items and share. Will be going back when we return to the area.
Delicious food and attentive staff.
Each item on the menu needed an explanation. It seemed designed to be confusing or at least contrived. Many dishes were delicious and some were just ok. We left feeling overwhelmed by salt and parched for a day and that soured the whole experience.
Apparently opentable overbooked so 3 of us had to awkwardly sit at the bar
We had some very good dishes and some that were just okay. The pasta with clams dish was extremely salty. The Radicchio Caesar was very good as was the Orata fish dish. The pasta with tomato sauce was very cheesy and not enough al dente. We did enjoy all of the desserts.
Fantastic food ... but LOUSY wine. Specifically, the WHITE WINES BY THE GLASS fail, with oddities like a bubbly (!) draft Gruner, an almost bubbly Arneis, an orange-y Malvais and lightweights like pinot blanc. I feel like they were picked by a beer drinker who doesn't love wine. Not looking for a pinot grigio, but something like a kerner, vermentino and many others would have been better than the above.
I will go back for the food, but will look at the bottles or more likely bring our own wine.
It was great, as always. Our waitress was outstanding.
Great small plates. Delicious food. Friendly excellent service. Reasonable.
The fusilli was amazing, and the bread was a nice addition to the meal.
