Born out of a love for the neighborhood, Mexican food and agave spirits, Añejo was launched in Hell’s Kitchen in early 2012.     Anejo’s is a restaurant my mom and I discovered our first time in New York. The pork belly tostadas and chicken tacos (better than the pork) are a personal favorite, and we were sold when we got to sign our names in the cute little book that came with the check. They didn’t do that this last time I came :( but that’s probably because of Covid. Still love this place so much highly recommend.

    The tables are so close together you are literally trapped and can’t even go to the bathroom! The waitress was completely overwhelmed and the kitchen took an hour to complete our meals and also got our order wrong. Although the food is decent, there is no reason to ever go back.

    Great restaurant. Even better company. The server once she finally approached us was very friendly and helpful. The chips and guacamole were excellent. The side of rice was delicious. The octopus dish I ordered was seasoned well for the sauce but the octopus was over cooked. Overall nice restaurant.

    The food was genuinely delicious but I found hair in both of my dishes. I pointed it out to a busboy but he just took them away, half eaten.

    We went for lunch, two tacos are offered in your order with rice and beans on the side, however, you must order two of the same tacos??? Then if you pay to add another taco that too needs to be the same kind of taco. Is it me or is that a little nuts? I ordered the chicken burrito and it was ok. The Spicy pineapple guacamole was similarly ok. Nothing that I really loved about the place. Other than my friends' company! :)

    Nice place, The Food Was Pretty Good some great items and some good ones , We really enjoy the drink program there are some fantastic drinks . Like Everybody Else In de Industry It Felt that they where Under Staff, The manager Help Out during our dinner Experience and make up for the shortage. Overall a nice place to have a drink and some nice tacos.

    Dined after seeing “The Music Man”. Shrimp tacos [2] for her and Fish tacos [3] for me. Generous serving in each. You did not have to search for the shrimp or fish. Well prepared. Shared guacamole [excellent] and tuna ceviche which was a little bland. High energy atmosphere to be expected at happy hour added to the festive ambience. Our server, Ana G., added to an enjoyable meal. She was prompt, cordial and attentive keeping an eye on the progress of our meal. I can see why it is so highly rated.

    We like Anejo a lot and have been there on several occasions. The food was excellent as always (great duck enchiladas), and we especially liked the mescal margaritas. Right after our first drink order was weaved, however, something happened, and our server was nowhere to be found. It was a good 20 minutes before we could flag down the manager to take our food order. Meanwhile, we had requested another round of drinks from the person who cleared our first-order glasses, but those drinks never arrived, and we again had to flag down the manager to re-place the order. It was disappointing. I hope this was an aberration (although an explanation would have been nice), as there are a number of good Mexican restaurants in our HK neighborhood, and we can easily choose another with better service.

    Anejo was, as always, an excellent experience. The food is delicious beyond belief. Don't miss the pork belly tostadas! They were definitely the highlight of the meal.

    We came into the city for a day and we were trying to get a brunch experience. However, when I arrived my table wasn’t ready, I had to wait until the party before me to leave. I waited at the bar, grabbed a drink and etc. My table is ready now after (15 mins) and as far I read when booking for this restaurant was that I needed to be on time to have the “premium brunch experience for $55each”. Guess what? I’m timely AND do not get the brunch experience because the waiter said “it had ended”. So here are my thoughts, I am a person that expects the experience she booked for and I didn’t get none of that. Moreover, I’m not dissatisfy in totality about the restaurant, the food was good and just feel the information in the reservation needs to be accurate for people who have never been to this restaurant.

    This was our visit to Anejo while on a weekend excursion to NYC. Our margaritas were some of the best we have had outside Mexico. Great guacamole and taco chips with a variety of sauces/salsas. My wife and I both had varieties of tacos. They were fine but not great. Dessert was wonderful. Our server, Lilian, was one of the best. We appreciated how personable she was, but also how good she is at her job. We will go back, and try some different entrees.

    Tacos, salsas, and margaritas were incredible. We had the cauliflower tacos and fish tacos which were both amazing. We also had the salsa sampler which came with guacamole as well. Loved the variations in spice, and we used them on our tacos too! The margarita flight is a great way to try all of the options and see which you like best before getting a full sized cocktail.
