Fantastic meal, gorgeous steak and jalepinos home made slaw, can't wait to go back already!

Service was good & friendly but the food was let down only by the Bavette steak - very tough to eat - the Rib eye & beef short rib was on the other hand perfect.

Always reliable, great steaks, friendly service. The whole family love Arlo’s.

I had read really good reviews about Arlos so gave it a go with some friends.
Can’t fault the service or ambiance of the restaurant.
But I had higher expectations of the steak.
I would rate the rib eye as average. Both on quality and taste.
That said, it’s very hard to find an outstanding steak house. The search goes on.

Lovely steak restaurant, it’s a cosy spot and the service was fantastic. Great value, I only marked them down by one star because the steak was a bit overdone but just ask for rarer than you usually do

The bavette was far too chewy even though it was cooked medium rare. We were made to pay by cash for our large bill, not a great way to end the night.

Always an excellent meal to be had at Arlo's Balham, with great serving staff who are prepared to go the extra mile for their customers. Delicious food, quickly served and at a reasonable price too. It's why I keep going back for more!

Lovely local restaurant but the steak lacked flavour and the chips were not great. Better off going to Flat Iron which always makes me feel full.

My boyfriend and I had a lovely meal here, the steak was fantastic quality! Along with delicious starters and a great wine. Our waiter was lovely, very welcoming and helpful with what to choose on the menu. Overall a great place And you will leave very full like we did !

My favourite restaurant in Balham. Lovely steak. Had the sharing 1kg of steak with chips and ordered a few extra sides. Mixed starters were delicious too. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Arlo's lived up to expectations. This family run, independent restaurant served up a great steak in a cosy and warm atmosphere. Definitely recommended and would go back again.

Arlos was absolutely Exceptional!!! The steak was cooked to perfection and the side orders were very tasty. Lovely team of people provided great service all night and the whole feel of the place (Balham) was superb. Will 100% come back and recommend to friends :)

Little day night with my partner. Decided to try Arlo’s and what a great choice, the food is really tasty and can tell of good quality. The staff members are friendly. Amazing place give it a try you won’t regret it.

Found this place on Tripadvisor and the pictures just looked fab. Thought the food looked good too on the pictures but when we arrived it was much smaller than expected. Got a table outside which was nice as it was a nice day. Waiter was very friendly and helpful. The food arrived and it was very disappointing. Presentation was 1 out of 10. I am not a good cook but I could have probably cooked that myself. Or my 10 year old. Small plate looked like a side dish. And then we were charged nearly 20 pounds per small plate each. I felt robbed. We didn't even finish it. Never going again. The price should have been half of that. Meat was very tasty but that was it. Sorry. Real shame.

Bad service, waiters did not care of pay attention one bit until it came to pay the bill and then it was all smiles. Won’t be going back

Nice restaurant tucked around the corner from the main road. Friendly staff, very comfortable and cosy decor. Burgers and chips were divine, only slight negative was the Eton Mess for desert.. didn’t quite live up to the menu description and could not find the fruit that was promised but other than that lovely evening. Thank you!

Great value and Tuesdays are bring your own bottle and the starters for a tenner is awesome, as is the £45 sharing steak meal.

It’s on par with NYC steak joints and in Balham 😌

The food quality is poor for how expensive it is. The fries were oily, the steak was average. Service was poor; we had unfriendly waiters that got our orders wrong and seemed to be rushing us out the door by clearing plates when we were still eating. Bit disappointing given the cost and the other good reviews.

The steak is delicious as is the rest of the menu, but the reason I keep going back is the service. Genuinely wonderful whilst not being intrusive. I took my friend there for her birthday this evening and they produced a brownie and a candle for her as a surprise without me even asking! So, so lovely. I will keep going back!
