Bahama Breeze - Oakland Park
Great server, Robyn. Service slow as it was $2.22 Margaritas night. Chips a bit stale, but she got us fresh ones!
Great meal and service. Thank you Erica for taking super care of us.
Service a little slow at first. Had to ask three time to get a server. Once a server arrived it was good
Sat outside but seating was close to highway so the noise level was high
I enjoyed the food, ambiance, and service. The drinks could have been better, but i still enjoyed them.
The overall experience was wonderful!! The food was delicious. The only issue we had was, the wait time!! I made a reservation, however we still had to wait. That was confusing for us. Other than that, we had a great experience
Great ambience, service and food.
The restaurant has only been open for two weeks. However, my husband ordered a top sirloin steak grilled medium and it was very well done. He did not want to wait for another dinner so he ate it and hated it. His mashed potatoes seemed to have a thick layer on top. My fish tacos were good but not outstanding. I doubt we will go back although I would hope that the food improves. It’s a very busy place - definitely not a relaxing atmosphere. Lots of energy…
The hostess seated us when we arrived, despite 2 of our party not having arrived yet. (This is a rarity in many restaurants these days.) The waiter greeted us promptly and provided us with drinks while we perused the menu and waited for the other 2. Two of the people ordered salads and the rest of us ordered about 4-5 appetizers to share. The food is flavorful and they offer a wide selection of various cuisines. Portion sizes are large, but not overwhelming, and all of the food was served hot. The main dining area is a huge, cavernous, 2-storey space. These leads to a loud, echoing environment. The only thing I can clearly say that I did not appreciate was the "Suggested Tip" section on the check. While it can be a quick guide, I discovered that they include the tax when computing the tippable amount. WHY would I want to provide a tip on sales tax?!
We were disappointed on the whole. While the decor was colorful and pleasant, the noise level and music were loud. We did discover a room to the side overlooking the parking lot that was much less noisy. Staff was pleasant and very accommodating, but food was just so so. Imagine it would be a good place for families or large groups and happy hour and sporting events probably fun there.
Our waiter Bruce was very attentive and very informative about the food and drinks... Great customer service...
Valentines Day, very busy and very organized.Staff is professional and super friendly.
Drinks delicious and so generous. My paella
was excellent and so huge that I had it the next day for lunch.
My partner and I will be back at least every
PS... love this architecture
ridiculous entry arrangement even with reservations....long linnet checkin, then long line to be shown to your table....interior ambience is diner looking. will not make a second visit.
"I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The potato-leek soup was amazing and the Bibb lettuce salad was refreshing. The table was split on the monkfish – one person thought it was great, but another felt that the tastes didn't quite mesh
Very slow service and food not good. Found cardboard in our entree and French fries were cold. Manager did comp a dessert and appreciated that. Drinks very weak.
Too loud inside. When sitting outside you can see and hear cars passing by.
I love the patio here! The grilled chicken salad with fruit is good and the tostones are awesome. The jerk chicken sandwich was NOT good...the "toasted Cuban bread" was more like a stale hoagie roll, and there was no jerk flavor at all on the chicken (probably was seasoned on the skin, but once the meat was pulled there was no flavor) which explains why it's paired with a side of barbeque sauce. I've been here twice this week and the people working the reception always seem overwhelmed, even during less busy times. The servers are friendly, even playful ,and are very well trained.
Good food great service nice place 👍
The server was sweet but didn’t seem as though she had the right support from management to do her job well. We waited an hour for food that was average at best.
I had an amazing experience there, Tavarius is an awesome wartier there. The woman DJ there rock the place totally! Excellent atmosphere there and I love it!
Very disappointed for our first visit. We had specifically made reservations but still had to wait in the same line as the patrons that had NO reservations. The waitress was very pleasant and service was good. Unfortunately, my wife ordered a glass of white wine which was very good but way over priced ($12.00). We both ordered Maie Maie but the fish was over cooked and burnt. We should of returned it but decided not too. Someone was going around and asking comments and we did mention this, but got no response. To had to this unpleasant meal, I ordered a decaf coffee to get the most horrible tasting probably instant Sanka.
I do NOT know how the food was. I arrived at 6:15, had a 6:30 PM reservation for 7 people (4 kids), we left at 7:20 PM because we had not been sat yet. I went up to the host stand twice to politely check on our table, I watched other larger parties get sat before me that I know for a fact checked in after me or had a reservation after me. When I went to turn the pager in, the GM said we buzzed you but you never showed. I informed them I’ve been standing right outside the door, my pager never buzzed, and NO host ever came out side asking for our pager number or last name. He asked to give him another chance and if I went to another restaurant I would have to wait. I had already called two other local restaurants to check wait times. Went down the road to Anthony’s, walked right in, ordered, and had food/beers instantly.
My recommendation, DO not go to Bahama Breeze for at least 2-3 months until they get the kinks worked out.
Great first time experience! Our server Fernando was excellent and made the experience that much better! We can't wait to go back!
Terrible service and terrible food.
Very nice setting, especially the bar and outdoor area. Large menu to choose from and the food was good, not great. Only complaint...took to long to get drinks.
This is the second time we have been to this new restaurant in our area. While the ambiance is pleasant and the staff very friendly we are still trying to find our way around the menu which is huge. So far I can say we have enjoyed the staters better than the mains. We also had to push to get our drink orders. The place that knows it must get that first drink down does well. They have not done this. We had to ask a number of times and finally we were served. Perhaps they need a service bar so that the bartenders who are serving the people at the bar do not have to also contend with dinners.
Well, being a new location I think they’re still tweaking the flow of things.
Ordered one thing and got something else. Didn’t want to make a stink about things, because server was overwhelmed as it was. Greg kept his cool about things and he did an excellent job.
Welcome to Ft. Lauderdale we love the restaurant
Greeting service and seating could have been better but attribute to new opening and a learning staff. Will try the place again because the food was good but will be disappointed if overall service doesn't improve. Good luck!
am excited to try more of this innovative and affordable menu!
10/10 would recommend
It was a very crowded opening week but they sat us within 10 minutes of our reservation at a nice outdoor table. We had tropical drinks to begin. I had a Cuban mojito which was very good. The menu is very extensive. Lots of great Caribbean choices. I had the coconut shrimp which were lightly breaded and served with a citrus dipping sauce. They were delicious. My husband and our friend had the shrimp and mahi-mahi lemon grass bowl which was very flavorful and delicious. Portions are very generous. For dessert we shared the banana nut bread served with sliced bananas, ice cream and rum sauce. Very tasty. Prices are very reasonable. They also had live entertainment outside where we were seated. It was a lovely evening.
Since it opened been there 3 times. Will he my go to place from now on. Glad it’s close to my house. Can’t beat the location. Never been disappointed by the food or service st any Bahama Breeze
If it were not for our excellent server “Jasmine “ we would have left.
Our food took an hour to arrive at the table.
Food quality was only average, tasteless and boring.
The restaurant is so loud it gave us a headache.
Our party of four all agreed we would not be returning to this restaurant, which is unfortunate. Because we really enjoyed the way Jasmine handled the situation.
Great Caribbean food and both food and drinks are reasonably priced for the area.
Brand new restaurant here and was very busy. Our server was outstanding and food very good.
Disappointed in restaurant quality. Felt as if I was in huge Disney cafeteria.
Excellent, especially for a place that just opened.
Quite a surprise, the Music was great. Very talented Latin singer in outside patio. Great playlist. Very interactive with the crowd. Churrasco steak not as tender as expected. Many other choices on menu. Gonna try some other dishes next time. salmon salad was done well. The place is beautiful, fresh and inviting.
Everything was great except for the music was a bit too loud for a restaurant. It was more club music level. Me & my friends had to basically yell to hear each other. Otherwise food was delicious & staff were great despite being busy on opening day.
Festive, fun & food! What’s not to love!
I always know I want to come back to a place when there’s more than one item I’d like to try if the first entree was delicious.
Taking more friends next week...
Ask for Chaquinne - she’s a terrific server!
