   This place needs better service from the host, to servers and management. The food and drinks were not the best and it was way to many new people working on busy nights and they don’t even know what the restaurant has, when asking questions. They need better and more food options and drink options and food and drinks need to come out in a timely fashion. They need more appetizer choices. I came here for my birthday yesterday first time and I wasn’t impressed at at all.

   The venue and ambiance were very nice. However, the menu was very limited. They were out of so many items listed on the menu. They were out of crab meat, calamari, red snapper, greens, and many other items that it may be been beneficial for them to be closed that day. We had an appetizer and left to go elsewhere because nothing we wanted was available.

   Our experience was TERRIBLE…. We had reservations for 9:30 and had to wait to be seated and the restaurant was not busy at all. When we sat down at 9:40 the cups on the table were dirty. We did mention it to our server and her response was “ok I see it I’ll get more in a second.” She then asked us for our drink of choice. After our drinks arrived to the table we did order starters. The starters took over an hour to arrive to the table. Our server never mentioned that the grill was down prior to us coming into the restaurant and the kitchen was a hour behind. We received this information from another server when we asked for a manager. The other server was so kind to let the kitchen know to please push our starter order through. Now it’s almost 11pm and we just received our order after that the manager arrives to receive the complaint that we have with this horrible experience. She then takes our food order and we received it within 20 mins however the food did not come out hot we only had one drink and water. Still no server to check on us. This I was our third time here and nothing changed from the last two times. The only comp we received was the manager taking care of our drinks. Needless to say I’ll stick to the Miami restaurant moving forward because Baltimore will never see us again.

   I expected so much more. Saw a video of the snapper being made and presented before booking a reservation. Just got a filet of fish and a shallow dish of grits. Grits were ok nothing spectacular. The fish breading was too thick and burnt or the oil needed to be replaced. The drinks were good. The restaurant itself was freezing cold. Even saw an employee walking around in her coat. If it wasn’t so cold I might give another star. Honestly the mediocre food is a No for me. I would only return in the summer to sit outside and look over at the boats and water. The entrance and bar area is beautiful. The dining room needs a lot of help

   I was in town for only one night and thought this would be a great place to meet with some friends. Although the service from Allen was amazing, the atmosphere was uncomfortable. The heat was never on. We were extremely cold. Even the bar area brought out a heater to keep staff warm. Managers were informed. My guest didn’t want to stay long because they were too cold.

   Very disappointed over all. I saw reviews online but decided to check it out anyway because I felt like black owned businesses don’t get enough credit. But boy was I wrong! First of all my husband and I walked in and there was nobody at the front desk. There was a little hand written note on a piece of scrap paper that read “bathroom break” stuffed in a stationary holder. We sat there for about 10minutes and no one came up. I saw two ladies who were sitting in the booth-like area, who looked like patrons, get up to leave. So asked them if it was open seating or I had to wait for a host/hostess. That’s when one of them went to the reservations tablet and asked for my name and what time my reservation was for. She asked if all of my party was here and I told her the other three were 10minutes away she said I would have to wait for everyone to arrive and she would let the “manager” know so he/she comes up to seat us. So technically, she was an employee who saw us walk up but didn’t try to assist because she was off the clock. I stood there for another 10 mins, I saw the rest of my party walking up so I walked to the bar to speak to the lady for assistance. She didn’t give her name, but she was light skinned with a bald head. She walks up to us, my party is literally at the entrance opening the door and she tells me she can’t help until they are “inside the building”. She saw them enter but walked away. Then she took her sweet time before coming back to attend to us, then gave us a hard time about scanning the menu bar code before seating us. We sat for atleast 20mins before anyone came. Only for Nick to inform us that the menu we were asked to scan was the wrong one. Theo and Nick were the only two guys working. Both of them were very nice. They did their best from what they were dealing with. Not impressed, the food was mediocre, never going back. Hire a competent manager and more staff. Give Nick and Theo raises!!. Worst restaurant experience ever! #Bar None

   The food was outstanding, although the service was mediocre. Our reservation was for 8:45 PM and we did not get that until 9:20 PM after checking on our reservation a couple of times. Once we were at our table, our waitress was the manager. The food and drinks were great once we finally received them.

    Horrible !!!!!!! First woman called me with the policy break down which was normal but I get one of my guess are running late and she says she has to seat who is present and if the additional person was to show they would not be seated with us . Looking around there was no crowd nor a wait ! So ok proceeded with no fuss . Then , we were seated as we are sitting there taking pics doing our TikTok and things . We realize we have been sitting there with not a introduction, a drink order nor an appetizer then looking around and all you seen was frustration . Guest waiting on there checks or to order as well and only two waiters visible. So we went on and left . Literally had to be sitting there for 17 minutes with nothing but pics in their on our phone . I CAN RECOMMEND “Judy’s in Canton “ 9 minutes away reasonable priced everything food was delicious and drinks were reasonable. Vibe was on point and greeted at the door immediately. Curry Chicken and Mac is worth it !!!!

    Went to Bar One to celebrate my 40th birthday with 3 friends. We Had a 9:15pm reservation and were seated by 9:35pm. We were all present by 9:17pm. It took 20 minutes for a server to come speak to us to take our drink and appetizer orders. She came back and asked for our dinner orders and that was the last time she came to speak to us until it was time to clear plates and receive the check. No one ever came to ask if we wanted more drinks, No one ever refilled our water. We didn’t receive 2 sides that we ordered. We alerted a runner and she said she would put them in. They never came. The server told us that they were removed from our check since we didn’t receive them. Overall the experience didn’t align to the pricing. The prices are fairly high for Caribbean food and that’s fine. But the service needs to be improved if you want people to come back. The food was decent even though all of our dinners came out just a tad warm. I would also recommend letting patrons know if components of the meals are being substituted with something else. Our meals came out with spinach and that was no where in the description. Luckily that was fine with us but may not be for someone else. Drinks were good. Also note that Bar One went out of their way to send messages about the dress code and the arrival time policy but did not note that they only accept 2 credit cards and cash for the rest and that they added an automatic 20% for a party of 4. Once again, setting the expectation that service would be at a decent level but adding insult to injury after a poor service experience.

    Bar One is an upscale restaurant in decor.The service is A+. Me and my husband were greeted by the owner who was very polite. However, the food did not meet our expectations. For the price is does not measure up. My husband ordered the chicken and waffles and the chicken was so salty it gave him a headache. I ordered the avocado toast and the shrimp and grits to order a variety of dishes. The shrimp was a bit rubbery the grita was on the money. However, the avocado toast was delicious and the sauce that was drizzled on top which tasted like balsamic vinger was a great added touch. If you're looking for a beautiful upscale date to tame pictures this is it, but if your are hungry and looking for great food this is a pass.

    My first time at Bar One. It was my birthday, I was hoping to meet Peter. The experience was okay, however I sat about 30minutes before a waiter came to my table. Although I made reservations online. However, the food was delicious but a little pricey. I will dress down next time and will probably sit at the bar.

    My reservation was for 5:00. We arrived ten minutes early and was told we needed to wait. So we waited and watched another couple come in for their 5:00 reservation be seated. The hostess FORGOT about us so my husband had ask her after 5 if we could be seated. It took 40 minutes for our drinks to arrive. Another 20 minutes for our appetizer and then finally the food came. The food was good but I was disappointing that it was a la cart for the price they needed to serve the silverware with atleast a dinner napkin. When I was for napkins I was giving small black drink napkins. The Hennessy lemonade was good and the food was delivered but they need to up their game on service.

    Their seating system is very inefficient and the staff don’t have enough common sense to know when and when not to enforce certain rules. The restaurant was empty at 12 for brunch and online they only had reservations for 5pm left; so while in the restaurant we asked could we have a table for 4 because two others would be joining us (the reservation was originally for 3 and two of us were there) they told us only if everyone was already there and they wouldn’t seat us unless everyone was there which is no problem if the restaurant was full but it was literally empty except the bar; we were there until 1:15 and only two more tables of people came while the rest of the restaurant stayed empty except the bar; but they weren’t able to accommodate 2 more guests which turned me off from the whole experience; the ambiance of the restaurant was nice and the drinks were excellent but the food was mediocre it’s not something I would pay for again.

    The service was horrific, we literally sat for two hours before we received our food. I had to get up and go to the side station to get utensils for our table. We weren’t giving any napkins, and I I had to ask for water. Our appetizer actually came with our food, and when we did receive our food, only five of the six meals were correct. It was an absolute disaster. I think the most concerning part is that the restaurant was not at full capacity, I can only imagine what it would be like at capacity. Sadly, I drove over an hour to bring friends to this restaurant, and was sorely disappointed with the service. The only saving grace was the ambience was great, and my friends had a good time due to the jazz player who played amazingly and created a fantastic vibe.

    Food was good, but the service wasn’t great. You would expect that for a menu that has above average pricing would have above average wait staff. The food took a very long time and some of the items we ordered never arrived. My main issue is I don’t mind paying high prices, but I expect an attentive and professional server. Definitely need more experienced workers and perhaps a manager to oversee or check on the tables.

    1/5 stars. The best thing about this restaurant is the ambiance. I unfortunately took my wife here for a pre-birthday dinner. It took us over 15 mins to get seated and when we did finally get seated, it took almost 10 mins for anyone to acknowledge us, and there were only 2 other tables there at the same time. We finally got acknowledged and ordered drinks and appetizers, which took another 15- 30 mins to arrive. The wings we ordered (Habanero Mango) were so spicy, we couldn’t eat them. When we told our server, she indicated the restaurant does not take items off the bills, the best they do is take 50% off. We asked to see the manager, and when we did, she proceeded to tell us why the wings tasted the way they did. We never asked for a rationale, we just wanted the item off our bill, which never happened. The rest of the meal- jerk chicken paste and jerk snapper, were fine but definitely overpriced for the taste and amount of food you receive. Overall, we will not be returning. The service and food were subpar at best.

    If I could give zero stars I would. Went on Saturday night with my cousin, and had a reservation. We arrived 20 mins before reservation start time. First the host does not stay in the front, only pops by ever 10 minutes or so if someone finally flags her down. We weren’t seated till 15 mins after reservation start time because hold said they were crowded. Got to the back dining section and half the tables are empty. Another pair who waited and were seated about 15 minutes before us got up and left when we sat down. The waiter took our order quickly, we ordered wings, soup and curry chicken. Mind you the place is half empty and 3 tables around us don’t have food yet. An HOUR later the waiter came to our table and said “are you ready to order?” With a baffled look we said we already ordered and he responded “with me? And then, Did I put it in the tablet?” We could do nothing but laugh. We said yes to both and he said “ we are short staffed I’ll check on your order.” There are at most 6 tables full and a separate private party, at least 6 ppl in the kitchen (it’s open view to the dining) 3 waiters, 2 servers, the host, bartender, and two runners plus a bathroom attendant so they don’t seem understaffed to be at maybe 40% capacity. At this time another couple walks in and asks “is it seat yourselves?” And yes the owner Peter was there, in a VIP area in the front with the bar and dj, walking around that area and pouring his group drinks. That’s what you see as you wait the first 35 mins to be seated, and it makes you think “oh it’s live and must be packed / busy tonight” We left - like the table before us did and I assume so did others since the same 4 tables with no food when we started still had no food when we left. A waste of time and parking money.

    We went for Valentine’s Day, and Bar One did not disappoint! I was a little nervous because of the reviews about service, but from start to finish, the service was impeccable! The restaurant has a nice, modern decor and vibe. The music selection was perfect for the night. And the food… my goodness! It was delicious! Plus, the portion sizes were huge. My fiance is a big, fit guy, and even he couldn’t finish it all. Overall, a perfect choice for our first Valentine’s dinner and getting engaged. This is our new date night spot. We will definitely be back!

    First off, the dont have valet. That was strike number one. For the cost of the dining experience, and what they’re trying to market this place as they should definitely have valet. The food was mediocre. We ordered a variety of different dishes from the menu the red snapper and the surf and turf are the best things on the menu. Literally everything else was sent back. The reason that I didn’t give them two stars is because of the server. She tried her best to ensure we had a good experience but there was no saving this experience. I wish them the best of luck but this was my first and last visit to this establishment.

    Waited 25 minutes after sitting down while every waiter in the building just kept walking past us. Jerk pineapple wings tasted like nothing. Ordered the ox tail dinner which looked like mash there was 5 bones on my plate and all the meat was already off the bones no plantains so was supposed to get a double serving of rice but didn’t get that. Paid 15 dollars for macaroni and cheese and honestly that was the best thing we had.

    I was looking forward to experiencing this restaurant to potentially scope it, and review for a big event… The experience was absolutely horrible… We arrived at 1 PM. We were not seated until 125PM There were less than 4 tables full in the back… but after waiting in the back dining area (note: the ambience was similar to a cafeteria, wrinkled table cloths, no utensils) for another 30 minutes with no service and no water we decided to move to the bar on our own…The bartender was nice, but extremely unprofessional… she was drinking behind the bar and on her phone … to make matters worse the food came out extremely poorly plated and cold… I ordered the chicken and waffles and they had to make my waffle 3x just to get it hot. I went to speak to the general manager who informed me she had only been there for three weeks. However, she offered really no resolve except to make the waffle herself which she did. My friend ordered the steak and eggs which was supposed to come with the roasted potatoes, but actually came out with grits, because apparently they had not prepped the potatoes the night before, but didn’t inform us. Lastly, when we got the bill, the bartender informed us that the 20% service charge did not cover any gratuity, which I thought was interesting since the service was so bad, I will absolutely never return to any one of these establishments

    The food was amazing! However the service was trash. I will more than likely never go back I do not recommend for dine in service. I was not only charged $ 8 for 2 glasses of ginger ale, when I decided to get a slice of cake, the waitress said it would be $25! This on top of crappy service and an auto added gratuity makes it easy for me to never go back or recommend in the future.

    My friend and I were excited to visit Bar One Baltimore. We had heard great things. However, when we arrived greatness was not what we experienced. Although we made reservations, we could have sat anywhere because the place was pretty empty for a Sunday which is a big brunch day in this area. We decided to sit at the bar to watch the football game. We sat at the bar and waited at least 30 minutes to be acknowledged by the bar tender who was standing there in some sort of daze. She was not attentive to the few customers that were sitting at the bar at all. We finally got her attention to place our drink and food order after she came out of her daze. We ordered Chicken & Waffles and Lamb & Waffles. The chicken was over cooked and hard. The lamb chops were salty and raw on the inside. The waffles were cold. Oh and in addition to the horrible food and service, they include an automatic 20% tip in your bill. The restaurant is beautiful and is located in a great spot. However, we will not be patronizing this establishment again. I always say, your employees can make or break your business. I’m this case, the employees are definitely bringing the establishment down.

    Ambiance was very nice. You know as we people, we love to a brunch time vibe. The food was not the best as I would have hoped. My spouse had the chicken and waffles Though the chicken was seasoned to perfection, it was burnt. The shrimp and grits were good but the sauce was a little too heavy. Flavorful nonetheless. Will try again for dinner. I love supporting my people, so I definitely will give them another try.
