Coq Au Vin was beautiful - only minor criticism is that my lunch companion would have appreciated a piece of lemon with the kingfish but apart from that can't fault the experience - beautiful setting & love the fireplace!
Sadly the service wasn't up to scratch and had a negative impact on the rest of our experience. The food was nice, but we felt rushed and the staff didn't bring our wines out until after the food had arrived (and having been asked 3 times). Disappointing as we've been to a lovely wedding here which is why we booked then for lunch during a week away.
Great food, atmosphere and service. A favorite place to visit and dine
Great atmosphere, delicious food! Perfect winter lunch spot amongst the books and gorgeous fireplace. Highly recommend the Tunisian citrus samosas for dessert - so delicious!!
Awesome dining place with new books around. Great service and wine. Highly recommended
Had a beautiful 50th lunch. Great food and atmosphere
We booked a bar table which is in the bistro to the left of the book barn - great setting near the central fire place
Always wonderful food, excellent service, clean, exceptional location! Never disappoints!
menu overly fancy and pricey, outdoor seating should come with complimentary throws - especially when gas heaters aren't working
Booked over 6 weeks in advance, could only get an outdoor table (fair enough, it was the long weekend). Very cold day, gas heater ran out of gas. Had to ask two different staff members to replace the gas bottle. First one just ignored request. Gas bottle replaced as we were finishing our meal. Ordered the $26 chicken burger - burnt bun, had to scrape the black off the bottom. Crowded, overpriced and inattentive staff.
Lovely venue, and great pizzas. Just a shame we had to wait so long for our mains to come out. Would otherwise have scored higher.
Haven’t been for a while and have to say I was disappointed.
It is a great place to visit and eat. The service was good and the food was great. The only negative was- it was EXTREMLY loud. Very noisy. We had trouble talking to one another.
Superb setting in the midst of the bookshelves- fabulous food & lovely staff
Great location and food of high quality and value for money.
Quality food in an excellent environment with good service
Excellent anniversary lunch. Prompt and efficient service. Beautiful surroundings. Friendly and helpful staff. Very tasty and well presented food.
Petra is amazing food we had better in the past. Senior waiter in bar area lacks service empathy. Petra is holding the business together exceptional. We have a strong background in hospitality. We would return but possibly mid week to try again. Not prepared to recommend as a must visit
Amazing as always! Such a beautiful place!
Staff are very attentive and the food is amazing!
Very nice place and friendly service but best to avoid busy times
Fantastic food great service and a beautiful venue!
Always a great lunch here. Wonderful friendly and efficient service. Log fire helps ambience particularly in Winter.
We have visited Bendooley Estate many times with family and friends. I believe this was our best experience to date. Thank you to the team for welcoming us and attending to our every need on such a miserable Winters day.
Great food and wine, excellent service and wonderful staff.
Beautiful venue, lovely bookstore and fireplace. Food was nice with a not too daring menu and service was OK. Could be amazing but no real faults either. Pleasant.
Go when I can and always take friends from elsewhere. Love the environment. Lovely all round. Mary
Great atmosphere, interesting and rustic furnishing. Food delicious
Waitress very helpful
i booked Bendooley Estate for my friends 50th Birthday Lunch, this place exceeded on every level, from the ambient dining room with shelves of beautiful books, the smell of open fire place to the amazing menu and food served, our Waiter Andrew and all the staff really made us feel welcome and spoilt my friend Sharon for her birthday, i highly recommend this venue and will defiantly return.
Despite booking weeks in advanced and confirming our booking, when we arrived there was no table for us. They then set us up at a table on a 10 degree day with no heaters/blankets. There was not a single sorry for their error and they wanted to lecture us after we were upset with their mistake. Food was hit and miss, some meals lovely, others average at best. Won’t be heading back anytime soon.
Amazing location and aesthetics, the food was very average , we had the tempranillo (in house) and that was amazing and we would deff recommend
fantastic surroundings food and service, the only thing on a cold and windy day don't get a table near the front door in the restaurant!!
Great ambience as we sat near the window with lovely autumn sunshine flooding the table. The service was excellent and the food very well cooked and presented. A delicious bottle of local Bendooley Estate wine was the perfect addition to this very enjoyable lunch with friends.
We thoroughly enjoyed our delicious meal and were well advised by our enthusiastic, warm and friendly wait staff.
Had a wonderful peruse through the Book Barn and bought the best book ever.
Great lunch, terrific staff although We ordered espresso and tea with desert and it was forgotten. I wasn’t to bothered until it was time to settle the table. Yes the missed espressos and tea were invoiced. Staff were happy to remove from the invoice however I left feeling a little disappointed.
The experience won’t stop me from going back. Everything else was terrific.
Perfect for a business lunch in the country. The main road is outpolled Bd we lost a front tyre just before we arrived which was not fun.
We really enjoyed our visit the food was great and the service wonderful
Great time great venue great food
Great venue, beautiful setting, lovely staff. Food was good, linguine lacked a bit of something though. Dare I say... Salt?!
Although the chips has almost too much.. now I just sound fussy.
Wine was lovely.
Great food, lovely atmosphere. Definitely recommend
Once again a lovely visit/lunch on Saturday. I'm in the Highlands and had a visitor from Sydney who loved our time there and meal greatly. Thankyou and keep up the good work.
