Bricco has garnished superlative reviews from food writers in Boston and around the country – Best Guaranteed Meal in the North End and Best Pasta in Boston just two of the most recent accolades.
The talented kitchen team creates “boutique” Italian food, so-called because it is unique, personal and created for a select and sophisticated diner. The food is complemented by an enoteca (wine bar) with an exceptional selection of all-Italian wines.
Bricco also offers a sophisticated late night scene. The chic and energetic bar serves up great one of a kind cocktails as well as brick oven pizza with gourmet toppings such as prosciutto and fresh mozzarella from Italy in addition with appetizer selections.
Our first dinner out in Boston! Food and service were great, definitely coming back!
Food was outstanding! Ambience was great, and service was very attentive. Will definitely be going back!
Good food quality, seafood was exceptionally fresh and presented well. Appetizers were mixed! Mussels were very good, but zucchini flower was disappointing.
Overall, good food and decent....if pricey drinks.
Bring your wallet, but should have a good experience!
Unpleasant service experience. Busboy dumped a glass of water on my teenage son soaking him and no one from the restaurant even apologized. They threw some extra napkins at us and treated us as if we had done something wrong. It was a special dinner for my son's birthday and it was a rather unpleasant evening for him. Disappointing.
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner to celebrate my mother in law’s 80 th birthday. Our server was excellent and very knowledgeable about wine and helped us to select a delicious wine to go with our delicious dinner. Our server also put a candle in the dessert so we could sing Happy Birthday!
Continues to be the shining jewel of the north end. No one else even comes close.
The meal was incredible! I highly recommend the beef carpaccio.
Mallard duck duetto was above average. Filet migon and porter house for two steaks were good as well.
Great service, drinks were great, apps were good but portions too small for the cost and finally the entrees were meh-ok.
Disappointed in the food. Good atmosphere.
Excellent all around. Exceptional wait staff
Manny was a fantastic waiter. Wine was good. Everything priced well.
Great food, great service, good location - just a bit expensive.
Amazing homemade pasta and beautiful presentations! Bustling atmosphere in the middle of the North End.
What an great evening. Paige the hostess was so kind to accommodate the special request we had - celebrating 2 birthdays. Our server was spectacular (pardon me forgetting his name). Perfectly done entrees. Wine recommended was great as well. Had a great experience. This is the reason we are faithful patrons!!! Thanks again!
It’s very nice , portion were small for the price
Service was poor. Both tables on either side of us were complaining about service. Food was good but poor service definitely affected my overall star rating. For the prices being charged excellent service is a must!
While the food was excellent and the service very good, the noise level in the restaurant made it impossible to converse with our companions, the couple seated on the other side of the table. In addition, it was extremely difficult to hear our waiter as he answered questions and took our orders.
My 4th time in Boston over the last ten years and my 4th to Bricco. Always a wonderful experience.
New favorite North End Italian. Best menu I’ve seen!
Visiting Boston led us to Bricco, an Italian restaurant in the North End. I don’t have time to write a full review, but a one-word summary would be Superb! (with an intentional capital S). I’ve included pix...
Everything was really peaceful, food was amazing, lighting was perfect for a date.
Everything about the restaurant was awesome. Great food, service and I love the North End of Boston
Very disappointing experience! My wife & I We’re celebrating 33rd anniversary-we read the reviews and thought this would be a great place to celebrate-food and service was below average. We’ve never really had a bad meal in the north end before so this was a first. Would not go back or recommend to anyone!
The pasta is very tasty. We had our 3 year old, who is seasoned in all types of restaurants. To no fault of the staff it seemed the place was not kid friendly. They prepared my kiddo a basic noodles dish that she loved. I want her to really experience all the wonderful places in the North End so we go there often to try the restaurants. I'm glad we tried Bricco, I look forward to trying a sandwich from their alley deli next time.
Food was what you would expect at this price point - excellent. The evening was a treat. Armone by the glass was really nice.
I have to be honest that I’ve never been disappointed in the north end! This was my first time at Bricco and I chose the restaurant based on Internet reviews. The three others in my party were extremely pleased and thanked me multiple times for my selection of Bricco. The wait staff was friendly and professional and efficient. We had a reservation and we were seated almost immediately upon our arrival. Additionally, the bathroom was spacious and had multiple styles, which you don’t always find. (I can only speak for the women’s bathroom, sorry.) I would definitely go to Bricco again.
Food was very good, but overpriced. Service was excellent. Not rushed, and waiter was very professional and courteous to our needs, as we did sit for some time, which is appreciated. Being from an Italian family, our sense of timing for dinner can be long...lol. Thank you for letting us sit, relax and enjoy. Our tip reflected this appreciation.
This is a wonderful upscale choice on Hanover Street. It is not your typical red sauce joint, serving modern pastas, creamy mozzarella, and premium meats. The waiters are kind and are adept at answering whatever questions you have. It is also close to Mike's, so we stopped for a delicious cannoli there after our meal.
Main dining room is too crowded. My chair backed right up into the diner at the table behind me. Way too loud. Our party of 3 practically had to shout to talk. We had to lean in and speak in each other's ears. The food, cocktails, and wine were all good but it is terribly overpriced. And very touristy. I would be hard pressed to return. There are too many other good Italian restaurants in Boston. You're paying for the North End and as a resident of Boston it's not worth the hassle or the expense.
Food was delicious and portion were sufficient.
The food was great. I could have done without the techno music; I'm surprised that's the best they could come up with. Our waitress was very rushed, matter of fact/serious, but the larger issue was that she never bothered to tell us about their specials. I didn't realize there were any specials until I overheard the people next to us inquire. One of the dishes sounded like something I would have ordered.
Fresh pasta was absolutely delicious - you MUST try the wild boar papardelle.
Simply amazing. There is always a crowd and for good reason. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the North End. The service is efficient and professional. The food is exceptional. To me, the star of the show is the Veal Valdostana. A double thick veal chop stuffed with pancetta and fontina cheese that is breaded and seared to crisp it up and finished in a wood burning oven. The pastas are amazing and the sauces are reminiscent of old world Italy. There is an extensive wine list that fits with every budget. Try to leave room for dessert since the tiramisu and bread pudding are first rate. The prices are high but the quality makes this a must try experience.
Overall great dinner. We had a 6:30 reservation for 2 and showed up early at 6 expecting to grab a cocktail at the bar. We were seated promptly. Service was great. Food wonderful. We split a beat salad, I had a half portion of wild boar pasta and the halibut special, wife had the lobster pasta. Food was all very good. Wine list was great, but a little pricy. Overall experience was great tho on the pricy side. So good for a special occasion but not an every day thing.
Went for anniversary celebration with friends. Wine glasses were contaminated w/bleach solution and ruined a beautiful tasting of a special red. While management opened a new bottle & gave us fresh glasses it was a sad start. Appetizers were very good, dinner was not. Won't return anytime soon. Server Patty was great!
While this is a very noisy place, our family thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and would definitely come back.
Great food, and service but the noise level was rock concert like where screaming at the top of your lungs at your table mate was the only way to communicate at all.
Exceptional food and drink. Staff was super friendly and attentive!
