Bricco has garnished superlative reviews from food writers in Boston and around the country – Best Guaranteed Meal in the North End and Best Pasta in Boston just two of the most recent accolades.
The talented kitchen team creates “boutique” Italian food, so-called because it is unique, personal and created for a select and sophisticated diner. The food is complemented by an enoteca (wine bar) with an exceptional selection of all-Italian wines.
Bricco also offers a sophisticated late night scene. The chic and energetic bar serves up great one of a kind cocktails as well as brick oven pizza with gourmet toppings such as prosciutto and fresh mozzarella from Italy in addition with appetizer selections.
Delicious and authentic!
I’ve dined here a few times before and it was good but tonight wasn’t great. My pasta entree was cold and the service wasn’t pleasant. Our server was cold and not really present. I probably won’t come back again.
Everything was excellent- service was superb and can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Make sure to get an espresso martini for dessert!
We were seated upstairs, where it is much quieter than the downstairs (where we’ve been before). This is one of our favorite Boston restaurants: service and meals always exceptional. The menu ranges from seafood to homemade pasta to prime aged meats. It’s quite expensive—so be prepared for that. We come here every time we’re in town! We’ll see you again in June!
Delicious food, very friendly waitstaff, great wine, would definitely recommend. Looking forward to trying it again in the summer when the windows are open onto Hanover street
Food was good and so was the service.
Fabulous food, service and ambience
The valet right outside the restaurant was extremely convenient. The host and hostess were very polite and accommodating when we wanted to get a drink at the bar before dinner. The bar tender was also great and very friendly. However, our server was slow and not nearly as friendly as everyone else we encountered. She was not very attentive and came by to ask how our food came our roughly 20 minutes after we had started eating. The prime steak I ordered was tough, overcooked, and not very flavorful. My wifes pasta meal was excellent. The wine list is comprehensive and has many interesting options. Despite it being loud, I love the energy in the restaurant.
Dinner was incredible the service was spectacular we can’t wait to go back.
It was Valentines Day but had made reservations 1 month in advance and still had to wait another 15 minutes. Ossobuco was not fall off the bone tender as it should have been. My wife’s pork tenderloin was supposed to come with apple slices and peac slices but not a peach slice anywhere. Had order sparkling water and but wait staff ended up disputing my last glass with tap water
The appetizers - zucchini flowers & scallops were very good. The dessert of creme brûlée & molten chocolate cake were very good too. Wait staff was average - did not mention specials and took a long a time to replace a dish that he himself said was dirty
Noise levels were very high. Overall I wish I had gone to Prezza’s or Mamma Maria’s instead
HORRIBLE SERVICE. Didn’t even get a thank you as we left. No one refilled our drinks and we had to wait 30 mins when we had a reservation!
Trying to get it in
My girlfriend and I dined here for the first time on Valentine's day based on rave reviews but left disappointed. When seated, we were greeted by a dirty water glass with a brown speck inside. We had scallops and mussels for app. Scallops were cooked to the right temperature but lacked a nice sear, and the leeks were severely undercooked and was not a good accompaniment. The mussels were cleaned and cooked well but some of the large caper berries had tough seeds that gave a bad mouth feel. We shared the wild boar pappardelle and I must admit that this was the best dish we had there. The boar could have been braised a little bit more but the pasta was cooked to perfection and the sauce was delicious. My girlfriend got the osso bucco and I got the brodetto for secondi. The shank was cooked well but there was not enough sauce for it. The risotto and spinach on the side lacked flavor though. The brodetto was topped with a clearly burnt toast that gave offputting smell. It had a lot of calamari compared to other seafood, but they were cooked well...except for the lobster. The half lobster was likely cut in half prior to cooking and as such it is impossible to cook the exposed tail and the claw to the right temp simultaneously. The tail was cooked well, but the claw was inedibly raw. I had saved the claw for last since I needed to get my hands dirty, and finding out that it wasn't cooked was an unpleasant end to the meal. We didn't bother getting dessert, got the check and left as soon as we could. Maybe it was because it was a busy night, but with so many great Italian restaurants in North End, I certainly will not return.
Osso bucco was hard and dry. Would have sent it back, but the waiter disappeared. Frozen shrimp used in the appetizer. Awful experience and a complete waste of money.
Great time and a great dinner.
Always have amazing food and service. A top restaurant in the city. Dennis our waiter was awesome!!
As always 5 star
I liked the restaurant. Service was great, the food was enjoyable.
Food was delicious! We had a very nice server who was from Italy, she was wonderful. Drinks were good, the martinis were huge! Only complaint was we were seated at a tiny cramped table next to a drafty window...not ideal for a 200 dollar dinner for 2. Oh well! Very positive experience otherwise.
Food is great. Waitress disappeared for over 20 minutes
Very loud environment and was no conducive to a business dinner
Absolutely outstanding! Menu and preparation is tremendous, with wine list to match
Imaginative menu, excellent renditions.
while we loved the food and the service, there is no space between tables and the noise level is out of control. Stop trying to pack people in!
Food was exceptional, wine was delicious and recommended by the waiter. The waiter was great too, he engages with the customer and I left feeling like I was in Italy for a couple of hours. Sometimes I felt rushed to order but once we told him we would be taking our time he adjusted his approach. The pasta was just the right portion, not your typical Italian sized bowl of pasta. We didnt waste one bite. Spent 4 hours talking and dining. Fabulous.
Bricco is a fun spot. The service is excellent, food is delicious, and ambience is lively. I recommend this spot to anyone interested in good Italian food.
Food was not up to snuff. Bread at the start was stale, and my wife's salad had some strange flavors--fruits and vegetables that I am not sure go well together. My Zucchini Flowers were light and crisp, and lovely. For the entree, I had the Brodetto, a fish stew, and the shellfish especially were overcooked to the point of leather. Wine suggested by the sommelier was lovely, but my cocktail, the Executive Martini, was *legit* watered down, no question.
A very uneven night.
The food is excellent. Not the usual Italian fare. The espresso martini is enough to go back for. The service is great without being overbearing. No hovering.
Food and service were excellent as always!!
Surpassed lofty expectations
Excellent in all areas
Recommend to anybody going to Boston
One of my favorite restaurants in Boston. Wait staff was excellent and the food is always delicious
My kids loved it but I didn’t. I called and told them I was vegan and gluten-free but they really didn’t have much. A decent salad and some rice that did not taste very good. Also do not go here if you want good wine recommendations or if you want to hear your conversation. The wait staff was wonderful though.
Amazing food menu with creative Italian dishes, and not just the been-there-done-that spaghetti and pizza. Vegetarian friendly. It’s great for a date night, but the space is small, so I wouldn’t recommend it for large groups.
Busy loud as expected. Service fabulous food excellent. Continues to be a great place to go to before a game.
Booked at last minute, great tastes, service and ambiance. Take your date kind of place even though we had our teenage kids. Would go back again
Service and food were excellent! Apps and entree were fresh and flavorful! Especially Prosciutto and mozzarella appetizer.
We had high expectations for Bricco, but was disappointed with the overall experience. The food was quite ordinary. The wine by the glass was either a bit stale or cheap versions of the type of wine described. It was a very cold evening and perhaps they weren't operating at their best. May give it one more try, but would not recommend to a friend.
Cost-wise, this is a bit upscale place. The service is great and the food is tasty but the food options are quite limited if you are vegan or, on the contrary, trying to avoid pasta. The wine menu is expensive compared to other restaurants in the area.
Utterly delicious food with helpful, passionate staff
Well executed, delicious food!
The food and service were good, but the tables are sooooo close together! It is difficult to hear conversation at your own table because the people at the next table are less than one foot away. It makes for a difficult dining experience.
