Bricco has garnished superlative reviews from food writers in Boston and around the country – Best Guaranteed Meal in the North End and Best Pasta in Boston just two of the most recent accolades.
The talented kitchen team creates “boutique” Italian food, so-called because it is unique, personal and created for a select and sophisticated diner. The food is complemented by an enoteca (wine bar) with an exceptional selection of all-Italian wines.
Bricco also offers a sophisticated late night scene. The chic and energetic bar serves up great one of a kind cocktails as well as brick oven pizza with gourmet toppings such as prosciutto and fresh mozzarella from Italy in addition with appetizer selections.
Visiting Boston for wife’s 30th birthday.
Went for dinner to celebrate Easter. We had polenta appetizer which was very good. For main meal we had steak which was outstanding and cooked to perfection. It is served with sides of different salts to try. I had torlleni pumpkin with root vegetables also very good. It is not a dish my family would eat so it was a treat for me. The atmosphere is nice but can be loud as it is located on Hanover Street and you get sidewalk noise since it is open in the front. Should have tried a dessert but too full.
My daughter and I were visiting colleges and went to dinner here in August of 2018. We returned again in April 2019 to revisit colleges and could not wait to dine here again!!
I should have asked for a different table, but optimism got the best of me and I gladly took the table in the back bar area to celebrate a big night following an award ceremony. The service was great, but the crowd at the bar kept expanding and eventually I had a wall of backsides bumping into my table. Obviously the thought of food with the unfortunate view was less than appetizing and their reluctance to let us out to use the restroom were even more frustrating.
Been coming here for years. It was very loud this visit. Had difficulty talking to people across the table. Extremely needy table next to us - sent meal back 3 times - which to the waitress attention off my party which is not typical for Bricco. Will be back.
We had a wonderful time at Bricco. It was busy and they made us feel right at home. Food was wonderful. Staff warm, welcoming.
Emilio was the best server we have ever had. He was prompt, attentive, informative, and well-engaged in our dining experience with a thorough knowledge of the menu. The food was probably the best Italian we've ever had as well! Would highly recommend without a doubt!
The waiters always give great input into wine and meal selections!
Wonderful! Food and wine were fantastic. The service was extraordinary!
The food, service and atmosphere at Bricco were all very good. We'd certainly recommend it to anyone seeking out fine Italian food in Boston's North End. One of the best spots we've found there. Reservations were handled seamlessly and our table was ready (on a Saturday night before the Marathon) as soon as we arrived. We had a Buffalo Mozerella Caprese salad which was nice and delicious. My wife had the 7 spice chicken which was also very good. The star of the night was the duck duo (a seared breast with a confit leg). The flavors were outstanding and the duck juices blended in with the roasted vegetables to make them delicious. The wine list is very extensive and the Sangiovese we chose quite pleasing. Try Bricco, you won't be disappointed.
They sat us a table behind bar that was very noisy - clanging of glassware, ice , etc.
service was very slow !!!
Great North End atmosphere. Good food, nicely presented, and good cocktails.
Our waiter was extremely chatty, perhaps a little too chatty. With tables very close together there was still a fair amount of conversational privacy, although you could easily listen to your neighbor’s entire conversation. The food was exceptional!
Very good as always. Great spot. Pasta and wine excellent
Carpaccio was fantastic. Service was professional. Like all restaurants on North End, tables are very close.
My girlfriends and I were visiting from out of town last weekend. We had an amazing dinner at Bricco Saturday night. Absolutely amazing food, friendly staff and beautiful ambience.
Let me start by saying that the food was good. Not spectacular. It was good. But the service was terrible. We waited for almost an hour between ordering our dinner and receiving our entrées. When we inquired about the weight, we were told that there were some Big parties ahead of us. That’s a terrible excuse. Also, the tables were packed so close that I was literally rubbing elbows with the man seated next to us. Certainly not an intimate setting.
Birthday celebration. Lively place. Amazing food
Sat in loud private dining room. Service was very slow and was difficult to understand the server. All food dishes were great. Request to be downstairs in the main dining room and avoid being put in a private dining space as overflow seating. Would dine again if seated downstairs.
The quality of food is superb, my roasted Branzino entree brought me back to Italy.
great vibes, excellent food and service. Some of the best Italian food in the city. 10/10 recommend.
We actually left most of the food on the plate, it was that bad. Mine was also cold as if it were frozen and just microwaved before being served. Save your time and money and skip Bricco
Great special date night dinner with husband, food and service fantastic.
Lamb was delicious. Stuffed veal chop was also very good.
Superb in every way!
Busy Friday night. Excellent food and nice room. Don't accept table adjacent to the bar -- too noisy. Service was slow -- took too long to get food. But the wait staff was friendly and competent. Markup on wine is extreme (~3x retail, example charging $70 for a $25 bottle of wine) compared to other restaurants.
Great Spot! Great Menu!
Very average for what it is. Would not return with so many dining options in Boston
Staff was friendly. Service was great. Food was okay.... wasn’t worth the price tag in my opinion.
We had friends in from out of town and got a table on second floor by the window. The waitress was fantastic,a great experience
This is my favorite restaurant in the North End. They have an extensive menu that never disappoints and the wine selection is incredible. The zucchini flowers are the best I have had anywhere. Last night I tried the grilled octopus appetizer. There was just a hint of ginger, not too overpowering. The duck was cooked to perfection. It melted in my mouth and the flavor was so good! Two members of our party had the Veal Valdostana. When it came to the table the guys questioning whether they would be able to eat it all because the chops were so huge. No need to worry about a doggie bag. The plates were soon picked clean. My girlfriend loved the homemade farfalle with lobster and pancetta. I look forward to going back again soon!
Great spot to have dinner with a group of friends !
The bar tenders are excellent. Good conversation. Very attentive. Perfect recommendations for dinner.
This was my second time at Bricco. It is so authentically Italian. This particular night it was a bit louder than usual because the table beside us was large and loud!
The food was great, but I will say the Alaskan crab cake appetizer was not good at all. The quality of the crab was really inferior.
The steak was great and the baked pasta and meatballs was good.
We live in California and this restaurant is a must when we are visiting in Boston . Food is excellent and service is great . Can’t wait till next time . Thx Bricco
Amazing food and service, will gladly dine here again.
I have been to Bricco before and I loved it! This time, I enjoyed the food and wine and was with great company but I was disappointed by the service. I’m not sure if it was because it was a busy Thursday night but the server never came around to ask how our food was between meals or if we wanted anything else. He brought the check to the table before being asked and before we can ask for a cappuccino after our dessert.
Will not be disappointed - truly authentic. Will go every time I come to Boston.
Not returning. Service was great thank God because the food was horrible. Sent our main dishes back and had to order something else. Even the second option wasn’t great. After stating I had a vinegar allergy I was given a charcuterie with vinegar on it twice before the third time when it came out clean. Not worth the money at all. But our waiter was a doll and earned every cent. Much better places in The North End! Check out Panza or Al Dente! We love them both.
