A bit noisy but perhaps one should expect such from people enjoying their time. Overall exactly as advertised. Excellent Texas hospitality. Genuine. Not drippy. True courtesy. Food appropriate to price prepared picture perfect. Obvious skill. Clean. Good views. Much of the art was good. All good for conversation. Wonderful guest set. You just had to wonder what each does in life and the reason for their presence. Each aspect noted was an adventure. Do enjoy. Do get some cookies on your way out!!!!
The menu was unique. The food presentation was lovely. The service was kind and lovely and friendly.
Wonderful meal, fabulous service and lovely setting!!!
Cafe 43 is located in the George W. Bush Presidential Library. They are open to the public for lunch during the week and for brunch on Saturday and Sunday. The food is spectacular! I went for Sunday brunch and ordered the avocado toast with scrambled eggs and sauteed spinach. Salad was served with it and everything was delicious. Be sure to order the banana pecan ice cream for dessert! I would like to go back on a warm spring day for lunch and sit on the patio. The atmosphere was soothing with soft music in the background. The service was impeccable. I highly recommend Cafe 43!
Fantastic Food and Service.
Great service. Delicious menu.
Cafe 43 staff was wonderful, ambiance was exquisite, food presentation superb, and was delicious. Restaurant was meticulously clean.
Some of the crackers served with the bread basket were very stale. The waiter was not very attentive and never said thank you. The soups are outstanding; the sandwiches are generally very good.
Delicious and creative menu with wonderful ambiance. Great place for drop in lunches and good visiting!
We were very much looking forward to our lunch at Cafe 43.
Positives- Ambiance was amazing. Felt fine dining without being stuffy. Food was amazing. Service was efficient. Food presentation and taste was perfection. I had the brisket grilled cheese with fruit and my boyfriend had the burger with fruit. Taste was exceptional, mouth watering
Cons- unfortunately found what appeared to be a beard hair or short black hair in my sandwich towards being finished it. Which was unfortunate because the sandwich was delicious, just left a bad taste upon finishing what had been a great lunch. With both of us being in the hospitality industry did not want to cause a fuss, just wanted to bring to someone’s attention to avoid that happening in the future. My sandwich was comped which again, we did not look for as I had eaten most of it, was just wanting to inform someone. Server was extremely efficient with refills, taking order, etc. but lacked any personality or personal feeing.
Would highly recommend and would love to come back again.
Loved! Plenty of space between tables. Easy to hear each other. Perfect place to catch up with people. Creative food. Be aware that you must pay to park in the lot across the street but totally worth it in my opinion. I've returned and recommended to friends.
Food was well prepared.
We have visited Café 43 a number of times and each experience has always been outstanding. Every menu item that my wife and I have tried has been well seasoned and presented. This time I enjoyed the baked flounder, which was served with a delicious sauce and tasty asparagus, and my wife had the corned beef sandwich on marbled rye, which had a generous portion of meat. The service was excellent as usual.
This place is always fabulous! Menu is outstanding and the service the best. We were there for four hours catching up with each other and the staff could not have been friendly or more accommodating. A must to visit.
We loved having lunch here after visiting the Bush museum. Our table was welcoming when we sat down with the water poured in pretty red goblets and warm bread in the center of the table. There were many great choices for soup, salad or sandwiches; all with a unique twist.
Really great meal after the Christmas decorations. The carrot soup was amazing. The service was perfect.
Excellent service!! Delicious food! We’ve been here several times and our experience has consistently been GREAT!!!
The food was wonderful and the service was excellent!
Reception service poor
Omelette and hamburger rave reviews at our table; other two lunches were ok; very nice museum cafe.
The salmon and flounder were both very nice, and sandwiches were big portions.
Took the family out for brunch. Outstanding food at a reasonable price. The menu is simple and has some good comfort food and will have something for everyone. Would definitely make a trip and good for taking friends that are in town so they can experience the museum.
Excellent food and the service is always excellent. I always enjoy dining there.
Food was very good and the service was exceptional! We all loved the fried avocado appetizer. We will come again!!
Simple elegence with a relaxed setting. Food was perfectly prepared and beautifully displayed. The food flavor was perfectly balanced. Servers were attentive and friendly. We will dine here again.
Enjoyable lunch with friends. Would definitely choose this place again. Just wished we didn’t have to pay for parking.
Just a lovely place to gather and the food was outstanding!
We loved it! Menu was so good it was hard to choose!
We thoroughly enjoyed the food, service and ambiance!! The only thing that could have made it better would have been to see Mrs. Bush!!! Love her!!!
Food, as usual, was very good. Good value. Waiter was just average--not very attentive. Great place to go before or after visiting the Bush Museum in the Presidential Center.
Always excellent food and service.
We come every year. We love to treat ourselves. The food is always excellent!
Super meal, along with superior service. Five Stars all the way!
The venue and food were wonderful. Three things keep me from giving the experience a 5-star review:
1) A little ant was crawling across the menu just as one of the members of our party started reading it. We shooed the aunt off the menu and onto the floor.
2) My daughter found a hair in her meal about halfway through it, so she stopped eating it. She didn't mention it until after we'd left, otherwise I would have sent it back.
3) Those kinds of things happen sometimes, so we weren't upset; however, what did cloud our experience was a waitress who didn't introduce herself, never once smiled and showed no sign of caring or interest in the experience of the customers she was serving. "Sour" would be an appropriate way to describe her. Perhaps she got some terribly bad news before coming to work that day, but she definitely did not serve as a good ambassador for the Café 43 brand. It was disappointing, especially since this was a holiday gathering for our group of five. Her grudging approach darkened the otherwise pleasant restaurant ambiance.
We enjoyed a nice lunch with beer and wine before touring the Presidential Library. The Lump Crab salad was delicious and was a good size portion. My husband had a sandwich, but I don’t recall the name. He ate the whole thing with zero complaints. Fast and fried service.
Very enjoyable experience, very good atmosphere and food was excellent. The service was outstanding.
Would recommend the Cafe43 to others.
Café 43 has a unique menu of distinctive dishes. The atmosphere and service are excellent and it is convenient to the SMU campus. I've dined there several times and have never had an experience that was sub-par. I highly recommend it.
An enjoyable experience while visiting the library. Food and service were outstanding.
It's always good. Convenient for SMU faculty, staff, parents and students.
Always the best, especially at Christmas for a friend's get together luncheon. My panini was excellent but I had hoped for the Blt.
