We absolutely loved the view of the harbor & the iconic Sydney Harbor Bridge ! Now add to that the very fine food, drink & service, and you have a real winner.
I visit CS every time I am in Sydney. Having worked in this kitchen over 15 years ago as a chef, it pleases me and makes me proud that the quality of food is as good as ever and the whole experience is fantastic. It's a real gem for locals and tourists alike. Great buzzy atmosphere, a menu that makes it so hard to choose because you want to eat everything! The service is attentive and personable but unobtrusive.
We had a lovely date night at Cafe Sydney, fabulous service from arrival to departure from all staff. We particularly loved the starters, tuna tartare & the salmon/bug tail - fresh, creative, good quality. The mains were slightly less impressive but still really good! Add all the elements together it's a great experience and worth going.
4 of us spent $600 and it was very poor value for money.
Entree - one piece of Halumi
Main - tiny piece of swordfish
Dessert - also very small portion
Mojito cocktail - mainly a glass of ice
Great atmosphere, attentive staff, lovely food
We have been multiple times and Cafe Sydney never disappoints. Food and service are fantastic with great wine and cocktails to suit all tastes.
Good choice of and very tasty meals delightful fast service with a smile and wonderful views of Sydney Harbour. Salted Caramel Martini to die for. All round fantastic experience.
Fantastic experience, service and food. But seating is random. You may get a noisy corner where it maybe harder to hear person across from you or even the person servicing your order. As I person of partial hearing this was a slight problem for me. But definetlly recommend for all others to come and try it and make they own decision. Thumbs up from me!
Our meal was amazing from beginning to the end. Our request for a table by the window was granted. The view is amazing. Our meals were interesting, delicious, warm, well paced, and the special birthday cake for two was a special treat.
Food was fine.Table service was just OK. Did not appreciate the manner of 'Tim' who came to tell us that we could stay after 2pm. He was simply rude even though we understand the house rules.
It is a popular place so they rush you in and out for quick turnover of tables. The staff are rushed and don’t really have the time for you. The sommelier was a bit rude when I asked for New Zealand wine. We were with friend who were over in Australia on holiday celebrating their 30 wedding anniversary which I mentioned but non of the saff we’re interested which was disappointing.
Finally the table was good, but I did book on the 1st December 2018 to ensure a good outside table.
great night celebrating my birthday ! wonderful place with great food and great views !
From the start of to the finish, everything was great!
Great location and food let down by the service
Amazing service from a young gentleman that’s from Texas and incredible ambiance
Had a phenomenal time at Cafe Sydney. The food was exquisite and the staff were very attentive and friendly. Service overall was fantastic and refreshing to see such high quality staff. Would highly recommend Cafe Sydney to visitors or to spoil that special someone
Stunning food in a stunning location. Cafe Sydney is always a a favourite of mine and my husbands, and as usual this did not disappoint.
Valentines night dinner. No complimentary champagne, dinner was served out of order, salad was way over salted, desserts each had an artificial plastic or rubbery taste. Outside table booked - no view of anything apart from the aboriginal flag flying.
Overpriced waste of money, ruined special occasion!
We usually have an exceptional experience at cafe sydney and have dined there many times. Unfortunately our valentines dinner was not. My main meal was sent back twice as it was undercooked and for what we received dinner was very expensive.
This is a superb venue with breathtaking views. It is a real shame that the food and service are not. I’ve been here twice with the same feeling each time. Other than the views there’s nothing worth going for.
As a lunch venue for three ladies, it was ideal. We had an inside table, but still had the full Circular Quay view, noise level was such we could converse without having to raise our voices. Staff were very informative re lunch specials, menu and wine list.
Service on the whole was very attentive without being intrusive.
Whilst the experience at Café Sydney was most enjoyable, I have one suggestion for improvement.
I ordered the Queensland prawn dish which was absolutely beautiful. However, the portion itself was very small, almost entrée size. For a main dish and the price charged, I think the serving should have been larger in keeping with the other dishes that the other guests ordered.
Great evening, delicious food, attentive and friendly staff, beautiful views over the harbour
I was so excited to revisit Cafe Sydney for the first time in about 5 years and it did not disappoint. Best view in Sydney and the service was impeccable. We had 2 lovely waiters and they were fantastic. Amazing wine and dessert! Can’t wait to go back for another special occasion.
Excellent service and food. Continue to be our favourite restaurants in Sydney.
More dessert or shared plate options.
Degustation menu option is great for corporate groups in terms of experience. Let me know if you ever have this on offer.
I felt warmly welcomed and crews really looked after u.
The ambiance of the place
This was a celebration dinner overlooking Sydney Harbour Bridge . Exceptional service , ambiance and of course the food . Would highly recommend
This restaurant was recommended to us by our Australian guide. Overall, we generally liked the restaurant, but felt it a bit pricey for the limited menu offered. One of the “Mains” offerings was a grilled swordfish, which is a fish I love, but I was disappointed when our server said the swordfish was not available but a flathead fish was being substituted but would be prepared the same as the swordfish would have been. It was good, but it wasn’t swordfish. And there was nothing else on the menu’s list of Mains that interested me.
The staff we had were very attentive and friendly and the food spot on !
Idolise this place what a fantastic venue
Great evening making our trip to Sydney special 😎
Amazing views with staff and menu to compliment the stunning views of Sydney harbour.
Extensive cocktail and wine list with many good drops available by the glass to accommodate those who want to mix and match wines.
The menu is very seafood orientated but can't be faulted. All of the dishes that we tried went off with a bang among picky eaters and chefs.
Nothing that I can pin point that would stop me from returning again with family and friends
The service was pretty bad..very laid back approach..one of our dishes-fish was overcooked and when raised , the staff was good enough to replace it,.but brings it out with just a piece of fish with no other condiments on side!
Love CAfe Sydney, a great feeling to be there. I booked the outdoor table and its magic sitting dining and watching the activity of the Harbour. The food was amazing right down the the thin slices of peaches and pear on the terrine. Main courses never fail and we shared a dessert platter which was perfect. All this and the most amazing professional and knowledgeable staff.
Holidays & first to Sydney
Vegan menu could be more varied as primarily Indian dishes which you can enjoy at most Indian restaurants. Would be great to have vegan voices that are Asian, Mexican or Italian.
Over priced for the amount you get. Service was very Poor.
Excellent food, view, ambience
