The Four Seasons St Louis is partnering with James Beard Award winning Chef Gerard Craft to bring you Cinder House. The menu centers around the kitchens 14 ft wood-burning hearth. Located on the iconic 8th floor of Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis, Cinder House showcases sweeping views of the Gateway Arch and downtown skyline.

“Some foods taste so much more complex when cooked on a wood fire,” Craft says. “Grilling is a universal technique so the menu reflects many different cultures but the food will be heavily influenced by the grilling mecca of South America.”

Craft’s focus on simple foods with bold flavors is highlighted throughout the menu and includes several steak selections and rotating grilled items. From grilled pickles to grilled lamb ribs in soy, lime and garlic with a mango-honey glaze, dishes feature enticing techniques and flavors.

Dine indoors with warm wood and stone interiors or venture out onto the new outdoor lounge and upbeat bar area.

    Each Thursday, a different noted spirit brand will be spotlighted. The bar’s talented mixology team will also craft a special cocktail each week designed to highlight the selected spirit which guests can order in addition the full drink menu. Brand ambassadors will be on hand to offer a personalized experience. Adding to the mood, celebrated St. Louis DJ Mark Lewis will be spinning up the perfect summer soundtrack. All this while the sky turns shades of gold and pink as the sun sets behind the gleaming Arch. Tasting Thursdays will be held weekly 6pm to 9pm, beginning June 16 through August 18, 2022. Reservations are required. Bar Bites food menu will be available during the event. Separate reservation needed for full dinner menu.

    We were celebrating our anniversary and had read the reviews on Cinder House which lead to our reservation. We had not been there before, but the reviews noted the view and the food as excellent. The quality of the reviews may have contributed to our disappointment as we had high expectations for the evening. We were greeted and seated immediately, and the hostess was very nice. We were instantly met by two young men asking our water preference and what must have been a manager came to let us know the server was busy and she would take our drink order. When the server did arrive, she congratulated us on our anniversary, but something must have happened as her attitude turned curt and negative, which was our experience throughout the evening. My wife and I had a drink to start, and with our meal order, she ordered a glass of wine. She sat there for at least 15 minutes with an empty glass. We tried to get our server's attention and were "snubbed" several times. Our meal came and still no wine. After we finally got her attention, she went and got a bottle from the bar to pour one glass. The place was far from crowed and the view was minimal; it was just a very disappointing evening. To top things off, the couple next two us were celebrating a birthday and were given a small cake with a beautiful presentation--lots of side treats and "Happy Birthday" in chocolate on the platter. At the end of our meal, we got two tiny cookies and a small piece of chocolate with Happy Anniversary. Not very impressive. The entrees were fine, but nothing special. I guess we just didn't spend enough money, order an appetizer, or cater to our server which must be required to really feel appreciated as a customer. Based on the reviews, I hope our experience was an exception but I cannot recommend this place for future dining based on our Sunday night meal.

    Amazing food and views from the rooftop (both outdoor and inside). Glen was great as our server. A bit noisy, but mainly due to one table.

    The overall experience was amazing! The way everyone treat us, and knew about my friends birthday was actually impressive. The food was good, in my case my plate was too salty. Also I expected something different form the desert, but overall was good- Very good.

    The food was excellent for the most part. I had the scallops and my fiancée had the vegetable bowl with shrimp. The scallops could have been washed better as they had some grit in them and the potatoes were heavy with oil as they had been fried. The overall taste of the dish with the coconut sauce was very good. The vegetable bowl was all around delicious . It was seasoned perfectly. Only complaint about that was the shrimp add in was underwhelming. Four small shrimp that weren’t really seasoned. We had a few appetizers that were out of this world delicious. Especially the Brazilian cheese bread. For some reason they included prosciutto with the bread which was not needed at all because the bread was salty in a good way, but it didn’t need more salt from the prosciutto. Drinks were unremarkable but good. Very good wine selection. Service was okay. Our server wasn’t very attentive and spilled my fiancé’s drink on her, but the person who was filling out water and clearing plates was very attentive and helpful. The welcome from the hostess was personal and welcoming.

    Where to even start, everything was just a great experience. The attention to details and hospitality make this place that more special. They accommodated me the best way possible for the dinner even though I’m pregnant and it was a set menu and experience they still made sure I was good with everything and everything was cooked well just for me, they even accommodated me having my toddler with us at the dinner, and everyone from servers, managers kept stopping by the table to make sure we were doing good and that my son was too. Honestly Cinder House your staff is outstanding, congratulations on such a great Chef for all seasons Dinner it was a memorable event. Food was all so good we tried and loved everything!

    Food was gorgeous: complex flavors, perfectly executed. My husband: “this is why people go to fine restaurants.” Kale Caesar and beet salad were both amazing. My branzino and his marinated flank steak were also completely delicious. They all sound like dishes you might order anywhere, but they were decidedly not that. Even the side of broccolini was excellent. Yes, it’s a splurge, but worth it for a special occasion. Fun to see the Arch at sunset too.

    Waaaaay overpriced. Food was meh, service was fine, the decor and view was great but the prices were way out of range compared to similar restaurants. Nice place to get a $15 cocktail at sunset, then go have a nice meal somewhere else.

    A phenomenal dining experience. Food was excellent, perfectly cooked, and paired with thoughtful, curated side dishes. Service was friendly and attentive (albeit slightly slow - expected with finer dining experiences). The $10 valet parking was straightforward and efficient. Highly recommended and will be back.

    The food and atmosphere are absolutely fantastic, my only issues were the slow service. From waiting for what seemed like an eternity to get seated to how long it took for someone to take our order and for it to be brought out, that was enough to kill the mood.

    My boyfriend and I went for his birthday. From the moment that we arrived & were greeted by the hostess & the waitstaff we knew we were in for a great night, everyone was friendly and attentive. Our waitress was great at giving recommendations & everything we had was delicious. I ordered the Maracuya cocktail, which had the perfect combination of being both tart & sweet without being overbearing; really refreshing! For our starters we ordered the steak Tartare (so yummy!) & the kale caesar salad, both were delicious. Our entrees were equally as visually impressive as they were delicious. We ordered the Flank Steak with Chimichurri & chorizo hash, and the Duroc Porkchop with charred corn salsa. Great portion sizes and both so well seasoned & delightful!! We will be back soon!!

    You know when you go to Cinder House that you are going to have a wonderful food experience! The food is always delicious, seasoned well, and creative! The service is impeccable and you never have to ask for anything. They are attentive without being intrusive. The restaurant is so beautiful, clean, and has a relaxed upscale environment. The lamb ribs and crab ceviche were tasty starters. We had the lamb chops and piri piri chicken both were delicious! Do not fail to order dessert! We had the churros ice cream sandwich and the flan…yummy!!! It is one of our favorite places and worth every penny!

    The food was exquisite, and the service was great. The sourdough bread, which was toasted in the oven was phenomenal. You need to ask for bread, but it is well worth it.

    We sat outside on the rooftop, which made the evening special. The food was good but not great. The main courses were fine, but the accompaniments were skimpy & a bit strange. (Unless you paid extra for better & more normal choices)
