City Cafe - Dallas
Drop by and try our newly revised Weekend Brunch.
Very poor experience, we don’t plan to be back
Had lunch with colleagues. Menu is perfect, something for everyone. Service was awesome and staff was very accommodating.
Will be back definitely.
A+ service every time.
Really cozy place with exceptional food. We'll be back.
When we got there the manager came out and said they closed early due to no business!
New Years Eve. Great service and care. Louder than usual due to larger groups but still great. Excellent menu.
We have always liked City Cafe but it was the wrong choice for New Years Eve. We thought it would be quiet and romantic but they had several large parties and they seated us in the party room with them instead of seating us in the main dining room (mistake number 1). Then the servers were overloaded so we got less attention than the bigger groups (mistake number 2). We were there almost two hours before our entrees came to the table and by that point the noise level was so high we couldn't stand it any longer so we asked them to pack up our meals so we could leave. At that point the manager tried to offer us another table in the main dining room but we were no longer interested in staying. The offer came too late (mistake number 3). All of this was unfortunate and unnecessary. The biggest disappointment was that we really missed the City Cafe we remembered from our past experiences. I'm not sure if we will return...
Ken and Karin are wonderful. One of the reasons we keep coming back
Excellent food and service! Great choice and noise level allows for good conversation!
delish , personal attention, quiet & calming atmosphere, a great birthday evening
Our groups eats there with moderate frequency. Always a good experience.
The food has been consistently good since they opened, and they keep up with the times. The service is impeccable, and they have valet which makes parking a breeze.
Disappointed is the best description. We seemed to be an imposition to the waiter. I thought I was in New York not Dallas. The house salad consisted of Spring mix and a few strips of tomatoes drowned in a very tart dressing. I ordered the duck rare. It was medium well at best. The polenta was lumpy. The whole entree had been under the heat lamp so long that a film had covered the polenta. I would have sent it back, but not a cool thing to do when my date had the sole special. She did say the sole was excellent, but she requested an additional vegetable instead of the potatoes. We had to ask for the vegetables again after the meal was served. I will not be returning.
Karim and the entire staff are attentive and the food was awesome. We dont go as often as we should considering the service, quality of food and value.
Not as we remembered. Things seemed off track. Service appeared annoyed and the food was mediocre. Sorry state of affairs. Disappointing because the last time we dined there was such a lovely experience.
As always, Karim, Rodrigo and the City Cafe staff did a superlative job with food, service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere!!
Have eaten there several times. Also very good service and good food. Recommend to anyone.
A wonderful restaurant. Excellent atmosphere, food and service. Unfortunately, the last time I was there, a very loud individual at the next table made ifs difficult for me and my companion to have a conversation. This is not typical at City Cafe, so I will return again and hope to have a more quiet experience.
Wonderful experience always. Attentive host. Excellent wines and cocktails
Terrific brunch with my entire family of 11. Excellent!
The service was outstanding. The food was delicious. Try the asparagus! Great atmosphere.
Always a pleasure and both the food and atmosphere are wonderful. My birthday dinner was memorable.
Delicious food, attentive service, easy to have a conversation without shouting, and centrally located.
We always look forward to our visits to Dallas and the City Cafe. It is like going home. The specialness of the food and the excellent service never disappoint us.
Most attentive service and excellent food. A favorite of mine. This restaurant should be on everyone’s list!
Karim, his chefs and staff are always off the chart with great cuisine, service, and warm hospitality . City Cafe is our local "home away from home ," and they work overtime making us feel that way!!
Our server Veronica did her usual superlative and delightful job!!!
Thank you so very much,
Judie and Fred Hosey and guest Marilyn Newall
We went for brunch—the food was excellent. The Mochiko Asparagus Spears appetizer is a must try! Karim was a wonderful host and the service was very attentive. You won’t be disappointed!
The food (crab cakes and a crab louis salad) was excellent. The lunch was made even more special by the warm and attentive service. Lovely!
This has been a long time neighborhood restaurant. But on at least this night they were off their game. Three of the four entrees were oversalted. Service was not attentive even though they were not busy. Charged for 5 coffee's when our four person table only had three.
High standards here provide for consistently exceptional experience. We had so-so service one night but management support was there to ensure we left satisfied.
The food and service were exceptional. The seafood was fresh and well prepared. We can’t wait for our next meal there.
We love City Cafe. The food is always delicious and expertly prepared. The service is exceptional with a friendly wait staff who can know the menu and make great recommendations.
Always one of our favorites for a comfortable but special dinner date.
Excellent service very good cocktails and a very good wine list. Interesting food with nice specials. Very professional staff
Excellent food and excellent service. My guests were thrilled with the occasion
This place is a Park Cities mainstay. Food is consistently delicious. Service is excellent. Owner aims to please and is almost always present. If you're not into the noisy and actually like to hear the person sitting across from you, this is the place.
We reserved a week in advance for a party of 11 for brunch. They had a separate room ready for our party when we arrived.
The outside looks like a super tiny little neighborhood cafe, but that is deceiving. Inside it is really much larger and very posh. The decor is upscale and music (for Sunday Brunch) was just what I have on my Spotify. I know that's not a plus for a lot of people, but I loved it. :)
The bread baskets that come out after you are seated are super fresh and tasty.
We had a range of dishes ranging from traditional breakfasts to crab cake benedict to the special of the day which was a trout and risotto dish I believe. All were cooked perfectly.
The service was very attentive and everyone we came into contact with was pleasant and friendly.
I highly recommend the City Cafe for Sunday brunch. I wished we lived closer so I might try dinner sometime, but we live a bit outside Dallas and were trying to meet up with family. Would definitely go again!
Excelente restaurante, siempre muy amables y serviciales y la comida deliciosa
Very nice service. Excellent cocktails and wine list is good. Well prepared food. Great attentive owner host
