   It’s always a pleasure coming to Cliptsone Really enjoyed the food and the service was great too - a bit of advice and menu recommendations always goes a long way. Will definitely be coming back in the near future.

   We were entertaining a Clipstone virgin to lunch, and she was mightily impressed . Food, service and above all ambience. The third time I have had the pork loin. Just delicious but next time I really should try something else. Maybe.

   Imaginative, seasonal, well presented (not over large, a relief) - and very consistent with the good memories of the last meal I had there, maybe 5 years ago. Maybe a tiny bit hairshirt aesthetically (the room) - I could imagine the acoustics might be stretched if it was full?

   Clipstone is a firm favourite as it never fails to deliver. Dish after delicious dish. All in a low-key setting, with really reasonably priced food and interesting wine options.

   Bills itself as a neighbourhood restaurant, and that's certainly the case with an easy-going and welcoming vibe. Food was very good - not exceptional but worth the money, and appropriately sized portions. Trout starter was a solid performer; main pork loin was well cooked (not dry) and a flavoursome plate; sides were good. Nice to be able to see the kitchen and the team looked like they were enjoying themselves (in a business-like way). Definitely on the list of good places to be.

    Good food and excellent wine - they were very good at providing gluten free and lactose free menus. The noise levels were not too high so we could have a lovely evening catching up.

    Just another superb Sunday lunch at Clipstone. We were disappointed that the manager Will was away ill, but in his absence Boz gave us a great welcome and provided excellent service. My favourite dish? Undoubtedly the pork loin. Clipstone is a real gem of a neighbourhood restaurant

    Great food, and good service.But, there was an undercurrent of pressure to turn the table. I understand the need to make a business work, but the text 15 m before my arrival, to confirm my arrival, seemed too much. We had to leave 2 hrs after our booking. Such is modern dining ☹️

    It's always a pleasure to go for an early supper at The Clipstone, and this occasion was no exception. I had the oxtail pithivier again - it's that good! Perfectly executed, rich and full of flavour. My wife was very happy with her cod - also a repeat from our last visit. A special mention for our waiter, Will. It's great to meet such charming and knowledgeable people.

    After very many years as a patron of their sister resturant; The Quality Chop House, I find The Clipstone more relaxing for lunch and closer to central London activities on a day out. Food quality and service is just as excellent as QCH.

    We were dining late so only had a main each, the pork loin was very tasty and well balanced with boudin noir and apple purée. The Gnocchi was equally excellent, my wife said she enjoyed it more than any meal she had had in ages.

    Remains one of the top restaurants in London with a neighbourhood feel but with five star quality in all areas: food, service and ambiance. Yesterday the food was perhaps better than it has ever been, the cod a particular standout. Oh, and the coconut ice cream with rhubarb; wasn't entirely sure how they would get along with each other TBH, one from warmer climes and one forced into existence in Yorkshire probably. Still it worked well! Thank you. JFKN

    Birthday dinner with my wife, booked at short notice. As always the food was excellent - if anything we were surprised by how generous the portions were. Wine, service and ambience were all great. Looking forward to our next visit!

    We found this restaurant by searching on google for restaurants in Fitzrovia, the location was ideal for where we were staying. The restaurant is small but with a warm friendly feel, staff are friendly and knowledgeable on the wine and food. The restaurant has a lovely ambiance to it. The food itself is excellent, full of flavours and we liked that the menu didn’t have too much choice. We will most certainly be back to sample the other dishes.

    I really loved Clipstone. The Food is great - we had the 3 course menu (I had Violet artichoke with ricotta galette/Cornish bream/Kaiserschmarrn) and it was top notch. I need to highlight that the attention received was outstanding. Fede and the rest of the team made sure everything was perfect. Thanks soo much for the snacks and the extra care! I'll be back soon!

    Service was snippy . My £40 choice of Rioja was billed at £98. Starters - the croquettes were average but the fritters were inedible. The mains were delicious. The bill was high, £272 fir 4 - I bottle wine. I wouldn’t recommend

    Amazing service, team were so lovely and attentive! Food was gorgeous, lovely flavours and good choice. Good ambience for those a little harder of hearing- nicely spaced tables and kitchen not too noisy. It is pricey but very comparable with other similar restaurants.

    I have always loved this place and on this occasion there was no exception. The food, the wine and the staff are all excellent! This is what makes an outstanding restaurant. Same goes to their sister restaurant The Portland. The staff in particular are attentive and friendly without being in your face constantly. I would totally recommend it, and I always have a smile when I leave my meal here. No doubt one of my favourite restaurants.
