Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
CO - Raleigh offers a mixed dining experience. While some guests appreciated the "delicious bao buns" and "sake infusions," others noted challenges with service and reservation handling, particularly on busy occasions like Valentine's Day. The restaurant is often described as "short-staffed," affecting service speed. Despite its appealing menu, improvements in management and staffing could enhance the experience.

The Laksa was considered to be the signature dish. Not so. The noodles were undercooked and dish had to be sent back. Also, the chef decided to make it more of a Vietnamese pho dish with basil and jalapeno on the side. The service was average. Restaurant was not crowded but there were only two servers !!

The bar was out of the first three drinks we ordered. The bartender told us no bubbles for any of our drinks. It was not her fault, but just a mediocre experience for my clients. Probably will not go back.

Really enjoyed our visit. Used to come here a few years back when we lived closer. Most of the old favorites are still on the menu. The bulgogi tacos have good flavor but were dry this time. The bao buns are delicious. Enjoy their Sake Infusions too. The one negative is a bit out of the control of the restaurant, but the noise at dinner on a weekend in North Hills is insane; their is a continuous circling of cars trying to find parking and hordes of low riders, slingshots, and all other sorts of SLABs (slow loud and banging) pumping' bass for all to "enjoy". A simple enforced noise ordinance would help return this neighborhood to a fun place to eat and bar hop but it's grown unchecked and the vibe has declined. Love CO though!

Food is good but service was slow, our appetizer was served after main course, they brought only the main courses when we ordered four. Server almost forgot a drink order. They didn’t even apologize for forgetting a main course. Portions were good so we didn’t need the fourth dish anyway.

There was a line of about 10 couples waiting for about 10-15 minutes, all of which had reservations, including me and my girlfriend that all were faced with the advice that we could have a table, but that we would be waiting for about an hour and a half before we received a drink or an appetizer. This was not the experience that we appreciated having on Valentines Day. The only positive I saw is the purely unapologetic but direct transparency that if we decided to stay that it would be a miserable experience and leaving us the opportunity to try and salvage the evening somewhere else that knows how to employ a staff that respects their clientele enough to show up for work. The only reason I have even given 3-stars here is because I’ve enjoyed the food there in the past, but I’ll think twice next time I’m thinking about CO as one of my choices. There are plenty of other great restaurants around that value me as a customer.

Had a reservation scheduled for 7:15. We arrived and checked in at 6:45. An hour and half went by and we were never seated or spoken to by staff. Looking around the restaurant, only two tables had food and only a few more had drinks. We left without ever being seated. The reservation was made a month ago. I later got home and saw that at 7:15 the reservation was changed by staff to be 7:45. Remind you, this was a reservation change, by staff, without my knowledge, thirty minutes after I had already checked in. Will never go back.

We never actually ate there. Despite having a reservation we were told the wait would be at least 45 min. After that, it would be at least an hour before the food arrived. So we left. We saw others give up waiting for their food as well.

I made a reservation 2 weeks in advance. The day before, open table sent a confirmation email which I didn’t notice ( I respond better to text messages). We show up and there is a line to be seated. I decide to look up my reservation only to see that because I did t confirm, my reservation was canceled! About 10 minutes of waiting to talk to the host. He was nice enough to put us in for 6:30 ( we arrived at 5:45) and it was now almost 6. We decided to get a drink at the bar while we waited to get seated. The bartender explained she can only serve us a drink if we are seated at a bar or table. After a few minutes a spot opened up at the bar and we got our drinks. Now the time is 6:30 and I remind the host that we are still waiting. After 10 more minutes. The bartender told us they the kitchen is about a 40- 1 hour wait once order is put in. We decide to just put in our order at the bar. Another full hour goes by and no appetizers or food. We ask the bar tender to check on our meal and it wasn’t yet started!!! The host never came to check on us or give us a table, we closed out our tab for the drinks and left staving. Meanwhile there was still a long line to be seated. They didn’t apologize or turn anyone away. They just deceived people by making then wait to be seated and then the good would take 1 -2 hours once seated. Terrible way to spend valentines! I never had such an experience before.

After accepting to sit on the patio, me and my date waited an hour and a half. In that time we were served drinks after half of an hour. We saw our waitress only three times. Other runners attempted to bring ~6 incorrect items to our table. We were constantly lied to about our food being ready. In the end, we received two drinks that we could’ve gotten anywhere else, that we still had to pay for. Our Valentine’s Day date, with reservation, is ruined. Please spend your money anywhere else in North Hills, but avoid this spot.
