   Cocotte was a great choice: the food was delicious, the service was great--attentive, friendly, and helpful, and we ate inside and enjoyed the atmosphere. We would definitely return. We celebrate a friend's birthday, and we were all satisfied and pleased!

   Food was only ordinary. My rotisserie chicken was way overdone and had been left in the oven too long. My partners “ Coq au vin “was just average. As tourist, we look forward to trips to San Francisco for the freshness and quality of the food. This was by far our biggest disappointment in dining during our vacation

   Moules - plump (not over cooked or shriveled), great sauce Charcuterie and cheese board - nice selection Cod - excellent Rotisserie chicken - tasty, moist Duck breast - generous Wine by the glass - I preferred the grenache over the cabernet

   Cocotte is a Russian Hill quintessential neighborhood restaurant offering updated French classics along with a few innovative dishes the kitchen thinks up. Execution is consistent and on our many visits has never missed the spot with each dish delivering to its promise. Service is both friendly and professional, while a jazz quartet on Saturday nights adds a special touch to the ambiance. For a special date ask for the the tucked away mini-room.

   They seemed understaffed but handled it well. The experience was very rushed. The rotisserie chicken was dry - like they leave it under a heat lamp for too long. The place is ok but we likely won’t go back.

    We celebrated an early Father’s Day get together at Cocotte! Enjoyed the food, the exceptional service and the music very much! Would definitely recommend! The only downside was that our two tables were uneven and sloped a lot, making it hard to keep items on the table from sliding/falling/spilling. We were seated outside (our choice).

    Highly recommended. Excellent wine list with a Saint Emilion worth the admission price alone. Creative dishes cooked to perfection were delightful. Loved the beef Wellington and banana crème brûlée. Super knowledgeable and engaging staff made for a perfect evening. The guitarist is cherry on a perfectly frosted cake.

    Excellent food, ambience, and service. Great place to bring out of towners as the cable cars drive by. Try to dine when the band plays music -- this amplifies the ambience. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The portions are generous -- good thing our waiter was gracious enough to tell us when we were about to order too much food. We are native San Franciscans and the whole experience made us fall in love with San Francisco in a new way.

    Unfortunately, this cute neighborhood restaurant has lost all ambiance. The kitchen is open and very loud, messy, steamy. Not very appealing when you are trying to eat. The live music was lovely but way too loud, no matter where you sat. Our main dishes were delicious, but I'm pretty sure my dessert was microwaved.

    We had a fast food experience. The plan was to have a nice dinner with my girlfriend. We got there at 8:30PM (reservation time). We got a table and ordered drinks. When our drinks arrived, we were told that we need to order food because the kitchen was closing in 10 min. At this time, the jazz band stopped playing and that's it, the night was over. 9:15 we were out of there, hungry, and frustrated.

    Heavy handed on salt. Everything tasted salty leaving our group very thirsty and with puffy eyes the next day. Our server tried his best to accommodate and provide good service. But he failed to do anything special for our birthday guest as I did mention on opentable this was a birthday celebration.

    I went for restaurant week and the selections were wonderful. I had the goat cheese tarte and the filet mignon beef Wellington. The banana creme brulee was just OK. But the rest of the food was fantastic and generous portions-I took half my meal home. Service and ambience were great-outside seating is warm and well protected from the noise and wind. I look forward to going again and trying their French onion soup.

    We had the the prefixed menu with wine pairing. Food was great and our waiter was great also. We got there early and they were able to seat us right away which was nice. Small cute little restaurant. They had live music that was nice but a little loud; it made it hard to hear each other at times. Overall enjoyed our evening here.

    Outdoor/sidewalk dining at its best to make you feel you're in France. Very good food with a prix fixe menu option: delicious salad/tarts to start, beef Wellington cooked/baked to perfection, cocottes on the side, profiteroles. Was able to enjoy kir royales to start, and to bring wines (with acceptable corkage fee). Service was friendly and professional from reception/hosts to servers.

    LOVED the food from Restaurant week menu, especially the frisee salad and the scallops. Our guest loved the Beef Wellington....and the profiteroles were awesome--and abundant. Would go back for the food. Waiter was quite helpful, even though he seemed to be covering many tables. What we will not go back for is the music. You know you're in trouble when there is a decibel meter hanging outside--highest I saw was 87.4. (For reference, 90 is a hair dryer). We sat inside (which actually seemed quieter than outside in the parklet). Conversation between six of us was either shouting or lip reading. I finally asked waiter if the duo takes breaks. Yes, he replied. I told him NOW would be a really good time! I've never done that before. They did take a short break and such a difference! When they started again, we finished in a hurry and left. The duo was very good, would love to listen to them another time. Think they would have been fine if they were playing accoustic guitars... Go for the food (neighborhood gem!) but take earplugs.....

    The food was delicious. Love their onion soup a lot. The vibe was great, too. There was a live Jazz music performance in the evening. However, the service experience wasn't that good. The waiters were always busy with other tables. We waited for our dessert for about 30 minutes and received the check not even more than a minute after we finished our dessert. While we were leaving, another waitress stop us and asked us to pay again.

    Delicious. This is a regular "special occasion" spot for us. Altough we told them about our night being a birthday celebration (in the reservation as well as when we arrived), they did nothing special to help us celebrate. Was a little disappointed with that.
