Connie and Ted's
Enjoy one (or two) of 24 California craft beers on tap, while sampling from our large variety of oysters, clams and shellfish, shucked to order, at our Raw Bar. Wind down the day with a classic cocktail at the bar, or enjoy a warm lobster roll outside on the covered, open-air patio overlooking Santa Monica Boulevard.
What Insiders Are Saying
Take Connie and Ted’s for what it is and you will love it: a fun, casual place to grab a cold beer and some oysters with friends. Just don't listen to the hype and expect much more.
I've been a regular at Connie and Ted's since it opened, but this was my sister's first time there; she loved it. We had excellent service and food--my only complaint (apart from the bill, which was huge) is that my steamed lobster was a bit overcooked. (C&T's used to undercook its lobster, so I'm not sure why it can't hit the perfect medium.) All in all, we had a lovely time enjoyed celebrating my sister's birthday there.
Service and setting are fantastic as usual for Connie and Ted’s. It is a go to spot for lobster roll or clam chowder, but for brunch I don’t think it’s worth going to over some other popular spots.
Love this restaurant! Food is always good. Great for everyday or a special occasion. They also have a great menu for Dine LA.
We'd been wanting to come to Connie and Ted's for ages - and we'll be back soon. Fantastic wait staff - and delicious food! All aspects really excellent!
Great seafood and service!
not pleased with clam chowder or fish no taste
Food was marginal 25 minutes for my drink to arrive.
Service was horrible .
Had to ask for water
Come there fairly often. Best Oysters and a really nice dinner with friends always. We sit at a table near the bar and the waiters are always more then friendly. Its a nice place to go. Pricey but worth it.
The only hang up was that we had a 9:15 reservation and weren’t seated until after 9:45!🤷🏽♀️
Other than that it was yummy as usual!
Amazing cuisine-loved loved loved it! The ambiance the food the service everything was outstanding-I’ve lived in Hollywood a year and I can’t wait to go back
Best lobster roll in town. Oysters are delicious. Fish is prepared perfectly. Service is excellent.
Good food, as a new englander, I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked the food. Good chowder, heavy batter on the onion rings. Pretty amazing surf and turf deal on Saturdays. I wish they had a lobster bisque. I did see a lobster poutine on the back of a menu and may have to get that next time... Don't come here if you're on a budget - spent $250 for 3 people. Only thing that I didn't like was the placement of my table. So much traffic, it was literally right at the entrance. It felt like they were just trying to fit in as many people as possible.
Connie and Ted’s really know how to cook salmon. The one order was exactly medium and the other order was exactly medium rare. The skin was perfectly crusty. They were both perfectly cooked and had an excellent taste.
consistent great service and very fresh seafood .can get noisy and food can come out slow on busy nights but order that extra drink and relax and enjoy.
So disappointing. I had a gift card so I took a friend to get a bite before we went to a party.
I ordered a drink and asked for no fruit. The waitress said oh that's okay we never put fruit in our drinks . 15 minutes later the drink came with a lime in it which I am allergic to. I had to send it back and wait another 20 minutes to get it and had to ask for it.
Then it took over 1 hour to get our food and when it came out I cut the chicken sandwich in half and it was raw. I went to the manager and she told me no it's dark meat that's how it's supposed to look. I explained that I used to manage restaurants and I know what raw chicken looks like, so I showed it to her and then she finally agreed that it was undercooked and let me know anything else I ordered is going to take about 25 minutes also.
The table next to me had the same issue where everything that came out was either wrong or not good.
The service was bad, the fact that the manager told me that it was dark meat and that's how it's supposed to look is ridiculous and a risk to customer's health.
After all of that nonsense our bill was still over $113. I will not be going back and neither will the table next to me I bet.
There are plenty of other wonderful restaurants in L.A.. Don't waste your time here
Always a great time here due to the ultra-fresh food and fun staff. The blondie brownie is not ro be missed!
The best dining experience I have had in Los Angeles so far. We feasted and had the best time. Constance is a terrific waitress. Certainly one of the best seafood restaurants in town.
Overpriced and the fish was mediocre. Wine list was blah, cocktails super expensive. Portions were very small for fish of the day. The waitress was great and atmosphere was fun. Too expensive..,
I’m from the East Coast
We're regulars at Connie & Ted's but service was off this night. Our companions waited nearly 15 minutes for their drinks, then cancelled them, then they were delivered anyway and we had them sent back, then they showed up on the bill and we had to ask to have them removed. Not your best night C&T.
On vacation with a friend. Read reviews, had to try. It’s a must stop. Seriously the best oysters I have experienced. As well as the salmon. So fresh and prepared light and healthy.
Our waitress stopped serving us at some point but neglected to tell us. We did find someone else—one of the managers. We sat at the seafood display and asked about the different oysters, none of the servers knew which ones were which. We asked a few different people including the guys shucking and got three different answers for the same oysters. Disappointed.
The food is fantastic. Service is awesome. It does get very loud inside the resturant.
Awesome dinner per usual at Connie and Teds! Matt the GM was very nice to accommodate us with a table outside. The best hospitality, service and food in town.
I've been here many times and it's really gone downhill. The service is pretty bad now and the food isn't as good as it used to be.
It was pretty crowded. Staff ran into several of the people at our table repeatedly, because there really wasn't enough room for our table.
We were there 45 minutes before we ordered any food. Then it took forever to get our food. We had the manager check on our order. The food servers dropped or seemed to throw our food down on the table.
When we remarked to the manager about the evening and he giggled.
I should have done more research to know how casual it was. I mentioned in my reservation that it was a special event, but we got seated at a way back table between the bathrooms and the kitchen where I could smell bleach. They seated regulars in the better tables. I won't return, but the food was much better than the service, the atmosphere etc.
Beautiful delicious fresh seafood, what else is there to say?
One of my favorite restaurants. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is great!
Went With visiting family for dinner on a Thursday night. Such a fun place, and amazing food/drink! The only downside is it’s loud! If you’re looking for a fun time with friends/family, this works. But a nice intimate/romantic setting? Not so much.
My family was visiting from London and we loved the food. The fish was fresh and delicious. It came to the table hot as well. They have around 20 beers on tap, which meant a beer for every palate. I highly recommend.
Service was very efficient and friendly and food was delicious...especially soft shell crab special!
Our enjoyed the experience very much. We found the service very helpful in clarifying any queries we had. We also enjoyed the food.
Most of the signature dishes were no longer avaialble. Go early or do not go.
Food is always good and atmosphere always fun. Add good company to that and can't complain.
We had been wanting to come here for years and finally made it on our anniversary. I was under the impression it was quite fabulous and a more nicer dining experience. However, it seemed like a really rough looking cafe when we walked in and customers weren't even dressed up for dinner. Thongs and tanks etc and the whole vibe just changed immediately after seeing this. Some of the food was nice, but overpriced seafood for what it was. I think I had always heard so much about it, however it was a massive let down all around. And maybe that is just my own fault for not doing more research. Martinis were good!
Worst service and management ever experienced. Took 30 minutes for our appetizer (dozen oysters) and the server didn’t check on us the entire time we had to wait. Management gave us horrible attitude when we asked what was taking so long. Asked for bread to hold us over and told they would have to charge us for it. Won’t be back.
More than amazing!!!
Always a great experience.
Love Connie & Ted’s so much!!
My mom was visiting from Miami. She knows her seafood. We had the clam chowder flight, the White Seabass, the grilled calamari, and the crab salad. The food was good. 4/5. It was all delicious but nothing really stuck out to us in a way that we were like “omg we will come back here to get this”. Seabass was a dash sad. Not as flavorful as we are used to. Service was not good. So many times we were out of water, to the point I almost just asked for a craft for the table. Drinks were mediocre. And while our waitress was informative, she didn’t visit the table enough to make an impact. The establishment is huge. It wasn’t full booked (5:30 on a Friday). There’s no reason why it shouldn’t have been a top notch experience. Liked it, but didn’t LOVE it.
