Connie and Ted's
Enjoy one (or two) of 24 California craft beers on tap, while sampling from our large variety of oysters, clams and shellfish, shucked to order, at our Raw Bar. Wind down the day with a classic cocktail at the bar, or enjoy a warm lobster roll outside on the covered, open-air patio overlooking Santa Monica Boulevard.
What Insiders Are Saying
Take Connie and Ted’s for what it is and you will love it: a fun, casual place to grab a cold beer and some oysters with friends. Just don't listen to the hype and expect much more.
Wonderful staff and delicious food. The blondie was collectively voted as one of the best desserts anyone at our table has ever had.
So amazing! One of the best and most authentic seafood restaurants in LA. Already planning my next trip back!
Disappointing. Food was marginal. Expected better
Great seafood spot and I love that it’s right down the road from my house
C&T's is one of my favorite restaurants in town. I have been there at least once a month for the last couple of years. It never disappoints.
Delicious food; simply prepared without a lot of FAT. Freshest seafood!!
Love the food. Noise level inside a bit high. The best lobster roll. I have been many times and never a bad experience. If there is one negative it is the front desk refusing to seat you if the whole party is not present. This keeps me from going when we have more than two people. This happens to be a major problem to me.
Wonderful seafood, so fresh and always delicious . The little Gem Salad is so good. Will keep going
back as everything we order is great!
Amazing oysters, outstanding chowder. Monkfish was best ever! Great fish stew. Blondie dessert also memorable. Highly recommended.
Very good seafood in an area not known for seafood. Very good service. The food is expensive especially for oyster lovers.Probably the best onion rings in CA.
Great seafood, not fine dining. They can forget about you when busy. But everybody’s is very nice.
The lobster sandwiches are to die for and worth the $29.00 given how much lobster meet is in them. The cole slaw is delicious as well. However, the uni for $20 is ridiculous....beautiful presentation and hardly any uni in the shell. You are way better off getting uni at a sush restaurant and get twice as much for half the price.
The food is always excellent and of the finest quality. One exception was that my cup of clear chowder was more than half large cubes of potato. The cocktails couldn't get smaller and Martinis are served in small Old Fashion glasses, taking away the style and elegance that comes with a stemmed glass.
The hosts and hostess are amateurs. We admittedly were 20 minutes late and had called a few minutes before our reservation to let them know. The bad attitude started on the phone and continued until we were seated. On arrival, we were informed that they would "try to squeeze us in". The restaurant was approximately 20% empty and remained that way through the meal. We had to argue to be seated which then set the tone for dinner.
The patio is open to Santa Monica Blvd. and is very noisy, what with motorcycles, sirens and the people at the next table who were not loud, but about a foot away. Inside is not as loud but still noisy. Seating is very close so there is no privacy.
We will be giving Connie and Ted's a rest. I'll miss the beautiful Top Neck clams and the stewed Calamari and tomato dish, but at these prices and with a Michelin starred chef at the helm, I expect more.
This place never ceases to amaze me. Food is top notch. I got the clam chowder and New England Boil.
Clam chowder was delicious, monk fish is a good portion, well cooked great fresh flavor, French fries are crisp and very good. Husband had the scallops which has a sweet delicate taste. He loves his cole slaw as well. Our 11 year old finished ( that says a lot ) her pasta with clams and mussels that also came with a Pullman toast. For dessert we had the Whoopi pie. It is what it’s name says - It makes you say “whoopie!”
Table was wiped down with a musty, ammoniatic rag. Come on.
Restaurant was very noisy but we didn't mind. The prices were kinda high for what you got. $21 for a bowl of gumbo is high but it did taste good; I only had one spoon because I don't like okra. However my husband liked it. I had the lobster roll. For $30 I expected a larger sandwich; they tried to make up for it with fries. It did taste good though. The service was ok not great but the guy seemed to be waiting on a lot of tables. Overall, I would recommend but would not go out of my way to go there again. Lots of other foody spots to eat in LA.
Always excellent
I find Connie and Ted's to be very over priced for what you get. I've tried the restaurant several times and have been disappointed each time I visit. The prices are what I would expect in a more exclusive restaurant. Connie and Ted's is only a small step up form a cafeteria with a very expensive menu. This restaurant is just not a good value for what you get.
Delicious food, great ambiance
The oysters were fresh. I was hoping for more options as far as seafood. Overall good place.
Servers recommendations at the bar and at the table were spot on. They listened to my likes and dislikes before offering suggestions. Comfortable and energetic environment.
We LOVE Colleen!! Always see her when we come in - she’s the best!
The sea urchin was fabulous! What a wonderful experience.
Terrible service. Terrible food.
Love the super fresh seafood and staff
Definitely a place i go whenever possible
It's very impressive how you've kept the quality first-rate all through the years and serve such outstanding seafood in such volume. We've never been disappointed or experienced an off-night. Great evening all around.
As always a delicious and enjoyable evening. Love the staff too.
Best seafood, lobster rolls, chowder, bread and steamer clams in the West. Love this food!
Love the fish, especially the lobster roll
I loved the service and hospitality. Warm and prompt.
Seated late but everything else was great
Excellent suggestions from wait staff, really great clean and inviting atmosphere, outstanding preparation on the market fish and wonderful fish tacos, cherry pie to die for! Excellent!
Seafood gumbo on Wednesday is amazing.
What a great neighborhood spot. The seafood was beautifully prepared and there was an ample variety of dishes. There is an interesting wine list with a good representation of old and new world wines.
A co-worker referred Connie and Ted's and it was a a great choice. The service could have been better from our waitress, she must have been new but was quite slow and a bit frazzled. We had one issue with our food but the management did an excellent job and saved the day. Food was delicious!
One of the best places for seafood&oysters that I know!
Food just OK for the money, service good not great, feels like they don't care enough to be excellent
Popular tourist spot. Ambiance is battered 60s diner. Menu is seafood-oriented. Food is good but prices are very high. Wine list might not have been updated in the past decade or more, and prices mimic a much fancier place.
Amazing lobster roll, staff is very kind.
