Excellent pasta and pizza here. Portions are large so if one do a 3 or 4 course meal here, I feel it'll be too much food. The only down side is some dishes are overly salty and it's not healthy. Chef's need to tone it down, seriously.

We enjoyed an early afternoon meal at Cotogna. The ambiance was great. The room temperature was perfect, unless you sit in front of the oven. We had 4 glasses of wine, the burrata, insalata, agnolotti del plin, and raviolo. I would say that this is the perfect amount of food for two people. The burrata is definitely worth its cost. The the caviar, burrata, and toast make a superb combination. The insalata was a great twist of sweet, bitter, and olives. The raviolo and agnolotti were perfect cooked, al dente, and their stuffings were brilliantly seasoned. I would recommend all of these dishes. We also got the gelato for dessert. It was very good, especially if you enjoy pistachios. Overall, great experience.

We went for Valentine’s Day. We ordered the Fiorentina Steak (tabola stule) and one of their amazing pizza. I have to say that we were extremely impressed with the food and the quality. I travel all over the world and I have to say that that steak was the beat steak I have ever had. Cooked to perfection and with amazing flavors. The pizza was amazing as well (the bread, the ingredients, the flavors). All in all, amazing experience and incredible food, atmosphere and overall value. A++ recommended.

We had a very enjoyable lunch at Cotogna on Valentine's day. We enjoyed a delicious sformato and we also had a Sopressata pizza and a Gramigna pasta dish. Everything was delicious and the wine selections by the glass were just right. They also showed us to a table right away, even though we were an hour early! The only things that detracted were a delay in ordering a second glass of wine and a small rainwater leak near my wife! Overall, a very positive experience and we will come back again.

Food at Cotogna is always very good. The dishes are interesting and often creative. I had a really delicious appetizer of beets, apples, hazelnuts, and mozzarella....great combo. A pasta with pork sausage and romenesco was also outstanding. The house made gelato is ALWAYS great as it was on my recent visit - Torrone gelato with honey and pistachio shortbread - super creamy with the sugared (?) nuts and honey drizzle. 10/10 for the dessert. Good supply of both white and red wines by the glass. Service was efficient and the waiter appropriately friendly. Not a great fan of the noise level, though, but that seems to be an issue in most restaurants these days. We will continue to patronize Cotogna, happily.

Sea Bass was not great but everything else was very good. The ravioli 5 stars. The pork ribs delicious. The passion fruit chocolate torte amazing. I guess I would skip Fish dishes here. Also keep to the wine or beer. The cocktails were OK, nothing spectacular.

$105.00 for a small salad, soup, two pasta dishes and one glass of wine.
You could spend a small fortune in this place.
Typical San Francisco value restaurant. 5% mandatory fee added to bill.
Pasta was OK. Portions were very small.
Ambiance and service were good.

Ate there Friday (Feb 1 - (pizza) and it was very good. So good we came back Feb 3 for dinner/pasta.

Spaghetti Siciliana and the Tagliatelle were both bordering on tasteless, (spaghetti was steaming, yet, 1/2 a bite was hot, the other 1/2 cool). The simple cheese flatbread ($24) was so simple it needed red pepper flakes to enable some degree of taste.

Have never written a Review such as this, but a highly-regarded Restaurant such as Cotogna missed the mark on this particular evening.

Often visited and always enjoyable although this time ...i found the chicory salad dressing a bit strange between citrus and olive somewhat fighting
The beet and cheese “caprese” was stunning and wonderful
The single raviolo which is always a favorite had a clearly overcooked egg.
It was a late reservation(10:30) so it could have been a slightly tired kitchen.
Certainly wont home me back from making it a destination again

The restaurant has a great bar area & wonderful food. The servers are very knowledgeable & the service is very good. The only negative is we were sat very closely to the next 4 tables to be the point where it felt as though you were dining together I would prefer to be with the person I came to dine with. Everything else is excellent.

The food was just top notch. Every single thing we ordered- and we tried almost everything- was just outstanding. Unpretentious, inventive menu! The salad was maybe the only thing that didn’t quite translate. The olives were too strong for the citrus flavors and radicchio. The ford chicken is a must if you’re there on a Saturday.
The server was good but maybe a little distracted- not overly friendly but fine and informative.
Ambience was good...
