Lovely hotel restaurant in a nice secluded location off the beaten track. Nice menu, very well presented food, decent prices. I had the fillet steak, it was cooked to perfection (rare) and absolutely delicious. Highly recommended if you want a nice quiet meal in nice olde world surroundings.

Awful atmosphere with no other customers there. Appalling customer service from lazy waiter who was not interested in asking if we needed anything. Put off straight away and left as soon as we’d had a drink. Lost our business on the night and for the foreseeable future.

The menu was very basic when we got there , nothing like the website menu , would have eaten elsewhere if we knew , also bar shut very early and the staff disappeared.

We live in Canada and we were traveling to UK to surprise my parents for Xmas. So at the first week of Nov we booked a Table for 6 for Sunday lunch for 1:30 on Dec 20th with a plan to meet and surprise them at the restaurant with them believing they were booked as a table for 2. 3 weeks after booking online I called to confirm the booking etc and all was ok. 2 weeks prior to the date, my parents drove to Marston Farm to see where it was and confirm that was the place they were booked in. They were then told that they weren't booked in at that time anymore as they had taken a booking for a christening and couldn't get them in until that evening. The then sent me an email saying my parents couldn't make it for 1:30 and wished to move the booking. After calling them again from Canada they confirmed that they had taken a block booking, cancelled our reservation and wouldn't have told us if my parents hadn't been to see them that day.. Very unprofessional..! Not recommended...

We booked for Sunday evening after a busy week at work and found we were the only diners. We were made to feel very special and looked after well. The food was lovely and we will be visiting again soon Many thanks

There were two weddings going on - we were not informed. Table was booked for 8pm. Nearly an hour later a girl appeared and told us we would have to wait an hour or two. We insisted on seeing the manager who told us he had a problem because of the wedding and the oven would not be free to cook our food. When food eventually arrived it was poor. Even better than Fawlty Towers!

Good setting, good service and nice table layout. Starter and desert very nice. I had lamb for the main course but it was a bit chewy and too much mint sauce. My partner had the chicken and she said it was nice. The pint of Peroni seemed expensive £4.95 a pint. We used the tastecard for the food which made it excellent value but its good value anyway really the food even without the tastecard. Just the drinks seemed a bit excessive on price.
