Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse - Boston
I never write reviews on restaurants but I felt the need on this one. The service was excellent. The waiter was friendly and attentive. The appetizers were good as were the side dishes. The porterhouse steak, which I ordered was at best just ok. Even with the steak knife,I found that I was struggling to cut into it. I ordered my steak medium which it was. I might understand the toughness if I had ordered it well done. I eat at high end steak houses all over the country and always walk away satisfied. Sorry to say that I didn’t feel that way after dining at Del Frisco’s.
Excellent all around. Bar area is fun, chairs are really comfortable, views of the planes taking off over the water are neat, food is outstanding and service is truly tops. Tables (for dinner in the dining room) by the window are the best. Highly recommend saving room for dessert. The butter cake is unbelievable.
geat food great service
Expensive but food and service were excellent.
Service was a bit
Our experience here was wonderful. The service was friendly & prompt. The food was excellent. Everything was seasoned well.
We had a wonderful dinner! The steak was delicious! Our waiter, Brandon, was terrific.....always right there when we needed him but not intrusive at all! We had a nice table for two with a view of the water. Our Caesar salads and side of au Groton potatoes were great! We would recommend this restaurant for a special occasion. One of the complaints that I would have to make is that it is $21 to valet park the car. The restaurant is very pricy, so we felt that the valet parking should be complimentary.
Hostess seemed off the page server made mutiple multiple mistakes, we (3) got one wrong order, which we decided to keep, one side order never came to table,we requested 2 glasses of water only got one, cheesecake and lemoncake were ordered at same time but theres was 10 minutes between delivery time,on previous visits I gave Delfriscos A+...this time disappointed C-...I hope this gets resolved so I can return as a satisfied customer
Amazing Customer Service!
This past Saturday night was my third time at this Del Frisco's location (Seaport); the other two times were with a group on a weeknight, and both those dinners were great. Not so much Saturday. We had a 6:30p reservation for 2 and showed up at 6:22p. The hostess asked where we were in from and whether this was a special occasion, then said it would be a few minutes to get our table ready and directed us to the waiting area or the bar where the Masters was on. We didn't order drinks because the restaurant was far from full and assumed we'd be seated quickly. After 30 minutes of hearing the hostesses circling the bar calling out other names to their tables, we went back to the hostess station, asked, and were told they called us a while ago but couldn't find us. We were quickly ushered to a nice window table next to a really loud drunk table of 8 and immediately ordered drinks. Wine and martini. 15 minutes later had to ask where the drinks were and were told the bar was backed up. They arrived soon after. Food came promptly; salads and crab cakes entree and 16oz ribeye med rare. Decent steak but salted to death; crab cakes almost all crab, perfect, not fried, just perfect. After a long wait for another round of drinks--just 2 glasses of wine this time--asked for them again, got the same answer, then the on-duty manager marched to the bar, got the wine and served it and comped them apologetically. That's good service, but it's hard to recover from the several blips during one meal. If it weren't Marathon weekend we'd have gone to Abe & Louie's, which is what we'll always do in the future.
This is our second visit, the first time a couple of years ago, I found it outstanding. I found the presentation of the crab appetizer just average. It was still delicious but it was served in a little silver bowl.....last time it was presented in a martini glass, yes it matters. The salmon was good, but Not exceptional. Service was great and our drink at the bar was wonderful and much fun to mingle there. I think the next time we may just stay at the bar and enjoy that scene.
It was our Anniversary dinner and for the money, I wasn't that excited.
My husband and I went to dinner for our 39th wedding anniversary. We made a reservation a week in advance. For 4:30 on a Saturday. We thought we would beat the dinner crowd. When we arrived the restaurant was fairly empty about 20 people total. We asked to be seated outside sine it was the first nice spring day. People were already seated outside and their were plenty of tables and wait staff set up and waiting around. There were three hostess’ seating people. They asked us to wait or go be seated at the bar. I am not sure why? We ordered a drink while conversing with the very pleasant bar staff. Half an hour later we asked if we could be seated. Meanwhile, the restaurant was now busy and becoming noisy. At least 4 other parties were seated before us even though they entered the restaurant after us. We liked our seating and server was attentive. Food was great best steak I have had in a long time. We frequently go to Ruth Chris or Capital Grille. We have had better luck being seated
Anniversary dinner. Everything was the perfect!
Del Frisco's a spectacular steakhouse. I've been there many times and they never disappoint.
Waiter was either new or nervous
Scallops, Seafood, and sides were delicious
DelFriscos at these prices only caters to businesses.
Outstanding food, service, and the view could not be better.
We had a late lunch on Sunday. We had a wonderful table and a great server, Chris. All the food was spot on. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Clearly, a great wine list that we got into. The team service is so exemplary. I send many people there as it always exceeds expectations!
Dinner was excellent as always but we had to wait for 40 minutes past our reservation time to get seated which is just unacceptable.
The service and the food were impeccable!!! Thank you for helping me celebrate my sons.
Absolutely great time. It's my 2nd time at this location. Great service. Our server George was incredible. Explained all menu options and made great suggestions.
Me and my wife celebrated her birthday and 6 month wedding anniversary this past weekend and the dinner was quite the experience. The service was superb and the ambiance created with the harbor view and rose petals on the table made for a great night! The food was preparation to perfection and the drinks were well mixed. Multiple managers and other staff stopped by our table to wish us well on our celebratory evening and my wife also received a birthday card signed by the management and staff for her birthday! Del Frisco's on the Seaport is premier place to visit and dine in! Thank you!
It was an amazing date night. We got great seats overlooking the water per request which they were happy to accomodate. The food is always incredible and the service impeccable. George served us and was knowledgeable and I loved the wine he suggested to pair with my ribeye. Everything was perfect. I love their steaks more than the competition's and the au gratin potatoes were amazing. We will be back soon! Thanks!!
Wonderful atmosphere, and fabulous food. Everything was cooked to perfection. Be sure to bring your platinum or gold card !
Celebrating my best friends birthday who came from Chicago. We had to send our steak back twice until finally they returned the same steaks. When we asked the manager if the same steaks were served he explained that it was common practice to recook the same steaks. We asked for a lemon martini with a sugar rim. The first one was served with a salt rim. And another was served with no sugar rim and when asked for a replacement the server rolled her eyes. I was totally disappointed and it ruined the birthday celebration.
We went for our anniversary and they went above and beyond to help us celebrate :) The view was great and the food was outstanding. It was expensive, but it was delicious. Would highly recommend the 45 day aged steaks.
Great night out with the wife, one of her favorite places.
My friend took me here for my first time on Sunday March 31st , as he was raving about how much better it is than Ocean Prime. The place was absolutely beautiful and the food was very delicious, quality for sure. The only thing that ruined our time there was our waitress. Angelica was good at first but then she forgot about us after we got our food. She would say she would come back with a water refill, but took 20-30 mins, then when she gave us the desert menu, she took way too long to come back to the point where we didn’t want desert anymore! I was really excited to try the butter cake but it was already 10:30pm. My other friend had reservations to come the same day but 30 mins after us and got immaculate service and was able to get desert and leave before us. I would understand if it was extremely busy, but there were only a few tables that night. Everything was great, except our service unfortunately. And it shouldn’t be that way for a high quality restaurant.
Excellent as always
As always the food, service and wait staff was outstanding .
Ordered 4 meals had to send 3 back still mooing on our plates .
My daughter are alone horrible!
The food was excellent, as usual. It felt like the wait for our meals took longer than usual and the restaurant wasn't busy. Twice during the meal, wait staff attempted to remove plates from diners that were still eating. I will add that the negative experience's were unusual for Del Fresco's
Service was a little slower than usual, but overall the food, drinks and the ambience always good.
Amazing! It was my boyfriends birthday and the service was phenomenal. Not to mention the food was outstanding! Thanks again for a perfect evening!
Our steaks were cooked to perfection—just delicious. The oysters fromWellfleet were fresh and tasty, and the sides we delicious. Our server Randy was terrific.
Food was excellent steakhouse food. Service was OK, needed to ask wait staff to sweep crumbs before entré. Long wait between appetizers and entre. Very loud. Beautiful view.
Was disappointed in the end, way overpriced compared to comparable restaurants in the seaport area. Will not repeat.
I usually have a great steak at Del Frisco's. They overcooked it this time, and I didn't say anything, so it was partially my fault for not speaking up and fully enjoying my meal.
Right from the start it was a great time. Greeted by friendly staff, the server was amazing. She was so friendly, knowledgable with the menu and such a great sense of humor. The food was amazing, duxbury oysters, 45 day aged rib eye, lobster mac. Cooked perfect.
This used to be my go-to for steaks but lately I have to say, the fillet has been a pretty sad cut and the overall effort in the steaks makes me feel like the price just isn't worth what I'm paying.
Location and ambiance are still just as good but if you want a good cut of meat, maybe go somewhere else for the time being.
Also, the sides (Brussels sprouts) tasted and looked like they had been out for a while and were just reheated. We had dinner at 6:45 but I'm not sure why it felt like we were eating buffet food. General food presentation was also a little disappointing. We both had an iceberg lettuce salad and I know it's not hard to make one of these, a little bacon, some blue cheese, some tomatoes and bacon. Perhaps fancy tomatoes to maybe sex it up a little. But it just felt sad like it was the last lettuce they had and it had been in the back of a very cold refrigerator with everything just kinda thrown on the plate.
I've been traveling for a while now outside the U.S. so maybe I have higher expectations for a meal when the salad is 20$.
Wine selection was good as expected and the som is very cool and knowledgeable.
Maybe I'll go back in the summer when the weather is better.
Oh! Don't get the margarita. My date ordered it and...yeah, no. Just, no. In fact, new rule: never get the margarita at a steak house - any steak house. She should've know, I should've stopped her, but...the waiter said it was amazing. Sadly, it was not.
Lastly, as I mentioned, I've been to this place before and had a lovey time. Maybe this was one of this "you can't win them all" situations but, when it's a 200$+ meal a not so great experience should be called out.
Great service food was good scenery was beautiful.
Far exceeded our expectations. It was an anniversary dinner and they went above and beyond to make it a special evening. When back in Boston this will be our go to restaurant in the Seaport area.
