It was Mother’s Day so it was super busy. Service was efficient, food was very good. It’s a little bit pricey but I think worth it. The staff were really cool, calm and really friendly how stressful it must have been for them.

Have been here a few times for breakfast so decided to try lunch with a friend. They were quite busy for lunch as they had a large table of ladies for a party, however staff were friendly and attentive. I ordered the nasi goreng however was a bit disappointed, it seemed like it was just seasoned rice with a few prawns and a piece of chicken. There was no vegies or other ingredients in the rice. I ended up mixing in the watercress garnish to add more variety. I ended up ordering fries after as i was still hungry. It's a lovely place and breakfast is always lovely, however not a fan of the nasi goreng. For $30 I would expect more then just rice prawn and chicken.

Just very disappointing all around admittedly it was a public holiday but when you are happy to pay the extra 15% because of that you do expect a certain level of service etc

we booked an indoor table and asked for quiet spot as one of our party is hard of hearing - what a joke - had to sit outside so we could hear! And it was cold and we were not prepared for outside :(

First time there for breakfast and we were looking for something different to just eggs benny or bacon & eggs My wife had the rancheros pulled pork and the spice level and flavor suited her tastes perfectly, maybe a bit hot for some. I tried the chili spanner crab omelet, it had a good spice level for the average taste. I finely chopped my and my wife's garnish chilies and it made it perfect for me. The coffee just beat the meal which was again how we like it. I was full by the time we left at 8.45, essential to book We will be back, well done to the staff and management !

One of my favourite places to have breakfast. My son introduced me to it about two years ago. The food is always good and the staff friendly. I would highly recommend it.

we booked an outdoor table & were put in the sun with no shade, so were asked to be moved inside (why book?!?). had a surly, skinny black haired waitress who literally looks at the floor when walking through the room so nobody can grab her attention. she stopped just short of throwing our coffees at us. when i asked for sugar she literally did slam down the sachets on the table. the blonde girl & (philippino?) young women serving were really lovely though. only time the surly one smiled was when we were getting up to pay: maybe she thought a tip coming? this place has great food but could do better in the staff training: maybe lessons in smiling & eye contact for the surly slammer.

I am an occasional diner at Double Barrel. The food is always delicious. My friend's buckwheat salad was delicious, my Caesar salad was a little on the small side and could have had more lettuce & croutons, otherwise lovely. I really like the outlook, staff are attentive, inside ambience is lovely. Only issue is the diner at the next table brought their dog which barked incessantly. Frankly they should have been asked to leave or move as there was plenty of space elsewhere. The owners were playing on their phones whilst their dog barked. Management please be aware of this in future as it impedes the enjoyment of other diners.

We both hold this dinning experience as our favourite place on the Gold Coast The menu changes seasonally and the food is delicious the presentation is wonderful The service is excellent and there is great wine list to compliment the cuisine Great ambiance with seating inside near the food action also outside overlooking the lake
