What Insiders Are Saying
Duck Duck Goat is a high-end Chinese restaurants that's always fun with excellent and interesting food.
What Duck Duck Goat can do to Chinese Food is amazing. Walking in our expectations were high and DDG delivered that and more. The Bone Marrow dumplings and Beef and Broccoli were our favorites and none of the food felt over priced. The Water Dragon was also incredible.
Too salty and the flavors with off. Duck hearts were under cooked and not good, beef potstickers were great, Dan dan noodles were ok. Beef and Broccoli was Smokey and delicious. Dessert was the best. Fried rice had too much egg. Leftovers were awful. It didn’t help that the waitress was Unfriendly and not helpful.
Very good food but very close tables so hard to have an intimate conversation.
Food was tasty! Friendly service!
The service was great and the atmosphere very chic, but food fell flat for me. We have a place in Jacksonville, Fl whose food was better and cheaper (Hawkers). It just didn’t live up to the billing. Expectations drive opinions.
The evening was a late birthday celebration for my wife and I, who share the same bday. I can’t rate our experience high enough. From the initial greeting from our server, to the delicious cocktails, to the entrees...everything was top notch. The Dan Dan noodles were impossible to stop eating. The ribs made your mouth water while eating them. The green beans made you want to order more. I cannot wait for my next opportunity to dine here.
The Peking duck was the best I have ever had. It was the perfect combination of both moist & crispy! The cocktails paired well & I am still dreaming about the goat noodles.
Great flavors. Good variety. Pork fried rice was especially flavorful
First time here and I was not impressed. The service was good but the food didn’t live up to the hype or price point.
I wasn't sure what to expect after dining at Girl and the Goat which was fantastic, over Duck Duck goat was ok, i enjoyed the cocktails, the food was ok.
Wonderful menu, great service and delicious food.
Came highly recommended but food was average.
Good food, Snotty service -- We arrived promptly for our 5:30 reservation, but after checking in, the hostess made us wait at the bar for 10 minutes. Not a big deal, but it was when another group after us was seated immediately (and they didn't have a rez, we asked). Both tables were available at the time....and I think the reason is that we were dressed up. PLEASE waitstaff of Chicago: lose the attitude! We are there to dine out and enjoy ourselves, not bear the brunt of your disdain. Disappointing...
Quality slipping. Rude and absent waitress, unfortunately.
A great dim sum experience! I just wish I was hungrier so I could have tried more. ;)
Wow! I've been wanting to visit Duck Duck Goat for a while and so glad I finally did. I went with a group of six and as our server was describing the menu, she shared that their Peking Duck was available but she needed to put that order in ASAP. We of course said, YES. It was so authentic and incredibly crisp yet fat. Every other item we ordered came out at a nice pace and was equally as delicious. I of course like to try new restaurants in cities that are not my own but man do I want to go back here already.
Amazing food, if you like spicy better. The Service was super good. I will recomend it to my friends. Hope to come back soon.
Some of the best food I’ve ever had
Love the deco and food, I’m a picky eater but I found it easy to try, great portion size and mix of
Flavors is fabulous.
The good was great and we had awesome service. The environment was welcoming and vibrant.
Great place for a fun dinner with friends and family. Take a group and be adventurous!
I was dinning alone as I am in town on business. I had to ask for service. The staff was great and apologized. Meal service was good. However the waiter brought my bill and it was $640.00?? My correct bill for one person was $49.00.
Wanted to love this restaurant but did not.
Honestly, maybe my review is colored by the fact that I was in Beijing and Hong Kong two weeks ago, but this experience is less than what I expected. It was good, but not great, and not special. The short rib bone marrow potstickers were great, but it went downhill for me from there. Soup dumplings should be more plump, and should have way more soup. These were flat and had very little. The meat was good, but the experience was a three. The green beans tasted liked Durkee fried onions as the overpowering flavor. The duck fried rice was tasty, but had very little duck. I chose to put it on my plate and the waiter actually came back twice telling me to use the soup bowl. Dude, let me eat it the way I want to, particularly after you told me once already. He was otherwise attentive, but this was annoying. The spicy chicken was very spicy indeed. It was saturated with hot pepper flakes, but with the ailoi sauce, still very good. The prices reflect the Fulton Market area, which are more than they should be for the portions served. All in all, a five for me, out of ten. Been there, done that.
Amazing food. Came for our Anniversary and the staff was very accommodating. Asked for Bottle if Wine upon arrival and they hadn’t it all set up. Will definitely be back
Hostesses on Mother’s Day were incredibly rude to me and my hearing impaired parents. Food and waitstaff were great, but I wouldn’t beat the indignation of dealing with the two people running the front desk again. Email to restaurant went unreturned so hence this review.
The service and food was amazing! The decor is insane with a lot of attention to detail!
Awesome as always. The first time we had the soup. Now on we will always order it. Our server was great. Made for a wonderful Mother's day celebration.
One of my favorite places in Chicago! My mom and dad really enjoyed Mother’s Day brunch
We LOVE Duck Duck Goat and always make it a point to dine there whenever we visit Chicago. The restaurant is a combination of beautiful and funky. The service is always great and the food is extraordinary. Get the Crispy Tasty Messy Wings, the Shrimp Toast, and the Crab Rangoon, Bao, Dim Sum - it's all mind-blowing. It's popular, so make reservations!
Mother's Day lunch was absolutely lovely! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was fun. The attention to detail for my child's food allergies by all the staff made our experience even more wonderful. Special thanks to John, the Manager, who was immensely helpful in reviewing and providing us with menu options for our child prior to and during our meal. Highly recommend!
Our favorite traditional Chinese dishes, just healthier. Sorry Chinatown! We always love dining here the decor is akin to a Indiana Jones scene and the food and service is top notch. A must have is their slap noodles, soup dumplings, and sticky rice dumplings. Make sure to make a reservation, walk-ins aren’t normally accepted.
It was amazing, as always. Only unfortunate detail is not being able to tip with a gift card.
Fantastic food, drinks, and service—everything was top notch!
Amazing food and great service. Nice ambience with some cool 90s music playing in the background. Definitely coming back.
I wanted to keep eating, but my stomach was trying to limit my intake. Rude. EVERYTHING is ahhhhmazing here.
The decor is really fun. Our server suggested we each try 2 dishes and share and it was perfect for a girls night out. The shrimp and squash soup was exceptional, as were the scallion pancakes with coleslaw.
Amazing Chinese food with whimsical decor and delicious ever so slight twists on the classics. Imagine all your Chinese favorites, but in a fresh gourmet way and you have Duck Duck Goat. Everything Stephanie Izard touches is just excellent so do yourself a favor and just GO. You won’t be disappointed! Great with friends, family or a first date. Can’t say enough good things about this spot.
Amazing food. Great atmosphere. Perfect service.
Awesome food we both loved it! Waiter was awesome we took his advice on each dish and were not disappointed!
