For decades, Dunston's Steakhouse in Dallas has served classic steaks and other home-style Texas dishes in its relaxing and welcoming restaurant. The breaded and fried mushroom poppers and the tender calamari make delectable appetizer selections. Some of Dunston's Steakhouse's specialty entrée dishes include fried chicken breast, the grilled farm raised catfish and the grilled salmon, all of which come with sides like our famous salad bar (voted Dallas' best) butter beans, fried okra, baked potato and sautéed fresh spinach and broccoli. Of course, Dunston's Steakhouse is all about top-quality mesquite grilled steaks, like the bone-in ribeye, the bacon-wrapped filet and the New York strip, all prepared to order. First off, you have to say Dunston’s is what it is with its kitsch. Our server was sweet, but had she written the order down. She wouldn’t have to come back to the table several times to ask us what we ordered. Had a later reservation, but with that you would think they would have made sure they had enough food not to run out of major items that are considered part of Thanksgiving dinner. The overall experiences mediocre at best,

Chris (our waiter) was excellent, though he obviously was kept running from table to table. I have been to Dunston's for Thanksgiving several times. Each time, I enjoy the food and the experience, and intend to return. I also enjoy their Steaks between holidays.

Ran out of baked potatoes did not tell us and assumed we wanted cold mashed potatoes. Service was slow. It was a busy night but it was def off tonight

Dunston’s is always a great place to eat! Their steaks are tender and delicious, they have maintained a hometown quality over many years, and their loyal guests prove it. You can’t beat the value for this institution.

Excellent steaks and marvelous fried chicken breast! Nice atmosphere (sit in the back for best seats). Key Lime pie very yummy. Service slowed down a little after they got really busy, but overall a great dining experience!!

Been to Dunston’s many times. Always excellent. This time not so good. Asked for know added salt, steak was salty. Ordered a appetizer, never got it. Our sides were not delivered with the meal. The only thing that was timely was the bill.

Enjoyed the food and our party had an overall pleasant dining experience though there appeared to be inadequate waitstaff. We were in no rush, but it was confusing to have multiple waiters sharing service to our table. We will definitely return to Dunstons.

We were disappointed that someone else got our reserved table for 8 and we had to share two booths right next to the busy salad bar, making conversations a bit difficult for our family reunion, but all else was great fun.

Hosted a 90th birthday dinner. Food was good as always. Adrianna, our server was great. She was helpful, extremally pleasant and good w/ each person at the table. Also, she made the birthday girl feel extra special.

We had reservations to celebrate a birthday, table for 6. It took over ten minutes for someone to even take our drink order. Three out of 4 of the steaks were way over cooked, asked to send them back and they literally brought an empty plate and had us scrape our steaks onto that plate. Left us with plain baked potatoes, no fixings and a dirty plate. Then brought back new steaks and forked them onto our dirty plates - still over cooked. It’s a steak house, medium rare shouldn’t be a struggle to achieve. Never got our birthday celebration after reminding waiter about it once. The waiter never even asked us if we wanted dessert at all before bringing us the check. Then the bill came and they had added some to go charge fee on there. Had to talk to three people just to get it removed. Terrible. What a shame.
