   We had a family brunch at East Finch last Sunday. We were first to arrive at the restaurant, but it wasn't long filling up after that. We were greeted warmly by our host, and the service was great. The food is really lovely and the presentation is utilitarian (well the plates, utensils, glasses etc. are), but very tasty overall. Highly recommended.

    Service was excellent at East Finch. The servers explained the drinks and food menus and were happy to help with suggestions and give an explanation if unsure of any ingredients. We had the corn and the pickled onion rings as a starter - both really tasty. We followed with a fried chicken gumbo and the shrimp grits - again both really tasty. Good music and good vibes at East Finch. We’ll be back again!

    What a find. The most amazing team, led by a brilliant human doing good things for the right reasons. Every dish was excellent, we had great drinks and some really fun chat. We could have been in New York - it was cool decor, brilliant music and the best atmosphere. I cannot wait to go back - so glad we did a “show me what’s available now” search. Wishing for this place to go from strength to strength. It deserves to.

    We had an excellent dinner at East Finch. All the food was really tasty and well presented but the small plates were especially good. They put their own twist on Louisiana style soul food and it just works. Cocktails are on point too. But I think what really sets this place apart is the ambience and the first class service - it has a warm and welcoming vibe, and both our waiter Cam and his co-worker on the bar (I didn't catch her name) were really friendly, attentive and clearly take pride in their work. Would highly recommend this place for a fun and relaxed meal out.

    Absolutely superb brunch. The place is really lovely, the staff on another level and they made my trip through to Edinburgh for my birthday superb. The food is excellent my big eater partner was majorly impressed. Will be back again soon.

    Outstanding food that is unlike anything else I've had in Edinburgh - I don't think there are any other Louisiana-style restaurants/bars in the city? I had vegan options that were all superb and my partner had a couple of non-vegan dishes too that she said were also delicious. Cocktails were interesting, thoughtfully designed and prepared. Service was quick and friendly and the waiters were very knowledgeable about the menu.

    Cameron, our waiter, was an absolute delight. He offered up helpful and relevant suggestions, asked all the right questions, and made our last night in Edinburgh spectacular. We didn’t get the bartender’s name, but his cocktails were wonderful, and we’re grateful to him for his consistency during our many many rounds. The food was delicious, the vibe was amazing, and it was a highlight of our family trip. Thank you to the wonderful, beautiful, kind staff at East Finch!

    A great find. Fab cocktails- very different. Even though was too early for evening menu they served the Gumbo which was excellent. Guys alternating behind bar and front of house were great fun - super chat! Would return in a shot.

    From start to finish the experience was exceptional! We managed to get a last minute booking nice and easy. Greeted as soon as we walked in the door by the staff. All staff members are friendly, knowledgable and enthusiastic which made a great atmosphere. The food was outstanding we tried some small plates to share and then had a large plate each, all the food was flavourful and well cooked. We couldn’t even manage a dessert at the end! Ontop of all that the cocktail range was great and well thought out, all cocktails were well balanced and on theme. This place is a hidden gem and a must try for edinburgh locals and tourists!

    Amazing!! The food was absolutely lovely and couldn’t fault it. Great at dealing with people with allergies and very considerate staff in all areas. Very reasonable pricing. The waiter was chatty and even gave us tips of places to go after dinner, which we did and we really enjoyed them!

    Excellent spot in town. Great cocktails and tasty food. Comfy booths and lots of small plates available for sharing. Service always on point, very relaxed and friendly. Would recommend to anyone in that part of town.

    Small place with small tables for 2, food was good but not exceptional. Service was very slow which they acknowledged by taking 10% off our bill, but by then it had ruined the night .. wouldn’t go back. !

    We'd never been here before, so were really excited to try the place out. The server was really helpful in picking out our drinks/cocktails and brought them over fairly promptly (only a 15min wait). They don't provide food menus whilst you wait, as they like to take you through the menu once your drinks arrive - so we didn't actually get to look at the good menu until at least 20mins into being at the restaurant. There was a very long wait between ordering and receiving our starters, which was fine at first as we weren't in a rush. By the time our mains arrived and we'd finished them, we'd already been at the venue for 2 hours. Which wasn't an issue as we were enjoying being out, however our server then informed us that we couldn't look at the desert menu because we'd exceeded our allocated time and they needed the table back... we were baffled at this, as the reason we'd been there so long was because we'd been waiting on the food and drinks to arrive. We then waited a further 15mins for the card machine to arrive (so they weren't in that much of a rush). When we looked at the bill we saw we'd also been charged for a drink that was brought over to us as a 'taster'and left on the table by the server as he felt sorry for one member of our party who had to drive - we hadn't even ordered that drink to begin with, so couldn't believe we'd then be charged for it. It also isn't great that you are given tins that have 75p on them and then charged £3 for! Overall the food and drinks were amazing but the last 30mins of our evening were ruined by the way we'd been treated by the staff. Its a shame as we were having a really good time there!
