Painfully slow service.
Took almost 30 minutes for entrees to arrive after appetizers were cleared with no drink refills or communication about the wait.
No need to go to DC for a great steak! Filet was fantastic, cooked to perfection. the broccoli was delicious and not overcooked and the staff was friendly and attentive. I highly recommend Eddie Merlot's.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review! We're very glad that you enjoyed your visit with us and are looking forward to serving you again. I'll make sure to thank the rest of the team for you. Warm regards, Barry Garrison, General Manager
Good food but very overpriced. I order a $50 steak and it wasn’t even cooked properly. Disappointed in my $180 meal.
Always delicious food and outstanding service.
Our service by Carla and Jessica was superb! That alone would have us returning, but the steaks were cooked perfectly as well..
Dave was our server and he did an awesome job!! Rob and Cassie have also been incredible servers this past month for us.
Great food and cooked perfectly every time. Enjoyed cocktails and wine too. Service was spot on
Sat outside on patio and was very nice
While menu is a bit limited during these times, quality was excellent as usual! Management is doing the best they can do given staffing and COVID issues and we will continue to support them and be understanding. It’s so nice to go sit in a restaurant again and I’m thankful of the great service and food!
Great time and service during an unique time.
Outstanding restaurant. Food is delicious and well prepared. Service is impeccable. We loved eating here. They made us feel welcome and took real good care of us. Heartily recommended. Three cheers!
Lovely night... food was amazing and service spectacular!
It was great!
We had a very nice time, our waiter was awesome as usual, we’ll be back soon
Nice to be eating out again and what a wonderful reentry into restaurant dining. Our first time at Eddie Merlot but we will be back. We felt very distanced and safe on the patio with plenty of room between tables and a thick, logo'd mask on all service staff. Food was excellent and the price was reasonable for an upscale dining experience. A new favorite! Thank you, Eddie Merlot!
Our first nice dinner since everything was shutdown due to COVID and it was wonderful. Eddie's was very welcoming and made us feel safe and comfortable in new environment. Our server was excellent as well as all the staff there. Even surprised us with a nice creme brûlée as a thank you for returning. Very nice gesture and we appreciated it.
From food to the service, everything was outstanding.
Loved our food/server
The hubby and I went for an Anniversary Appetizer and Cocktail. The service was great considering the Covid-19 circumstances. All the staff was so helpful, accommodating and hard working. Highly recommend going here, especially if its a beautiful day out. Their porch is amazing.
Eddie Merlot’s in Ashburn has come back with social distanced outdoor seating and they are doing it very well! The food was perfectly cooked and they are exercising appropriate precautions when serving.
Everything was outstanding! Molly and everyone else did great.
Picked up where they left off before the stay at home order. Can't wait to go back.
Everything was greater than great, especially given the current problems.
We went for the steak and it was so disappointing. I got a $50 ribeye that tasted like char and had absolutely no flavor. My husband got the bbq salmon and said the spinach and potatoes that accompanied his salmon were bland and flavorless.
I took my steak home and reheated it the next day and added a lot of salt and pepper which did nothing for the flavor. I wound up throwing it away because it was inedible.
The service was good and the ambiance was ok. We won’t be returning. The meal was definitely not worth $150.
We thoroughly enjoy coming to Eddie Merlot and always enjoy the ambience and the food. Last night was no different with a few exceptions. A group of four, we found the filet, the plank salmon, the halibut delicious and cooked to perfection. The exception was the prime rib which despite ordering medium rare and emphasizing the rare aspect, the steak was unfortunately overcooked. We don’t know if that was the fault of the chef or the server who might not have accurately passed on the order. The appetizers were delicious....the shrimp cocktail and the calamari! Another exception to perfection were the Parmesan Truffle Fries which were soggy, not crisp. Unfortunate because we have had them perfectly cooked in the past...just not lately the last several times.
Service was quite slow; the server was new but she was trying hard and honest about her inexperience and that makes up for a lot. Noise level grew uncomfortable as time passed.
But all in all we like Eddie Merlot very much and will be back.
Thank you Dave - great service.
This was our fourth time visiting the restaurant, and our past experiences were always excellent, however this time was very lackluster & disappointing. We were sat in the room next to the bar, and the bar noise carried through and it was very loud, which made our conversation at our table difficult. While we understood that the waitress was new and in training, The whole meal experience was very very slow and we were not served at the same time so that we could enjoy our meal together. There was a lot of confusion on our order And we felt like we were interrupted way too many times during the course of being served. My soup was barely warm and the steak was almost rare when it should’ve been medium well. We will come back again and hope the experience is on par with the price point of the restaurant.
First time there for our anniversary. So many friends had raved about EM so we thought we'd give it a try. Asparagus was over cooked and soggy rather than having some crunch to it. Our steak was cooked perfectly medium on the inside but a little tough on the outside. My husband and I were a bit confused about the decor, wasn't sure what kind of theme it was going for. We will be going back to Ruth Chris or trying other steak house restaurants. Another thing that bothered us is that the GM that night said "Hello, how's everything?" as he walked by our table. Not bothering to stop and converse or even get any kind of answer from us. And no, the night was not busy at all.
Asked for a medium rare ribeye, got a black well done rib eye. Have had better sautéed spinach at restaurants for half the price. Ahi Tuna was as good as anywhere else though.
Our server Laura did an excellent job. The food was very good. Not rushed at all.
Great service. Reservation was on time and overall experience was solid. Would definitely go back.
Long wait for food. Seemed understaffed. No manager interactions.
Going to Eddie Merlot’s is a big splurge for our family. The restaurant is very clean and beautiful. The bread is delicious but that is the high point of the meal.
We had two servers. One was extremely slow and the other was very pushy and tried to up sell everything to the point of being obnoxious.
The cocktails were fair. The food was absolutely terrible. The shrimp were inedible, the steak was flavorless, the brussel sprouts were greasy. We will not return. Not worth the very hefty price tag. DC Prime, Eddie V’s, Capital Grill, and Morton’s are all far superior in my book.
Just ok on steak ... wine was great ....dessert very good but too big
The food was outstanding and a little noise with some small children and party next to us. Service and ambience was impeccable.
Not worth the $200 tab for the entire meal.
I understand it was a big holiday, heading in we were expecting some delays, but our server Chris never offered us bread to hold us over until appetizers(although we heard him offer other tables around us he served) and we had to ask another server who was nice enough to bring some over.
Our food arrived cold, I had the scallops and added the 4oz filet to make it a surf and turf, while my significant other had a 7 oz filet. Both cuts of meat arrived cold, my filet was not done well and dry. The asparagus we ordered was mushy and we asked for another batch, which was better the second time around.
Overall even though we knew it was going to be busy going into dinner, i would rather sit at the bar and hopefully get my food order correct the first time around.
Only downside was in that our food came out very fast
Saturday of Valentine's Day weekend, perhaps only to be expected that wait staff was overwhelmed - every table was full. So service was iffy but food was fantabulous!!!
Had a relatively new server, who was energetic, friendly, and whose (few) shortcomings we're overcome by these attributes. I had a NY Strip that needed a bit more heat - they brought a new one that was even tastier, and cooked perfectly. My wife had very tasty scallops. All in all, a very enjoyable Valentine's Day dinner.
