El Refugio Mezcleria is a wonderful place to try delicious local food with a hint of Oaxaca. We have been there twice this week and we plan to go back before we leave. The staff is terrific especially Tonatiuh. He explains the menu carefully in English and if you want more explanation, the owner Noe is always around and he is very friendly and attentive. Food is lovingly prepared and thought out. The drinks are refreshing. This is a local place with lots of charm and comes highly recommended. Try the daily specials and you will be very pleased. We enjoyed the tostadas, the tlayudas and at the chipotle potato cakes. The mango cake is so good! They do carry out and the portions are plentiful.
Delicious mezcal & dinner
This place was great - ambience, the food, and drinks were all pleasant. Although I was bothered by the inconsistent demands and following of protocol. My boyfriend and I came in with reservations and were explained the rules (wear a mask, temp check, and hand sanitizing) yet there were about 3 people that came in without masks and the Caucasian woman working brought them back in no problem...

Amazing experience, yummy food, great owner. Menu is small so it's less about choosing and more about enjoying. Mezcal flight was terrific. Beautiful garden. Recommend!

Mi esposo tenía el pescado y fue un poco ‘overcooked’ and dry. Pero mi comida- el puerco fue muy bien. Las margaritas son excelente!
